No one runs pro style scheme anymore outside of USC, Pitt, and Michigan. Everyone else runs either spread or big personnel/smash mouth schemes. Do you all think this scheme will be successful for us long term?

I will complain if Wilbon takes every carry against Northern Illinois. Bryant, Wilbon, Ozigbo, and Bradley can all play. There is no reason to make any of them take 90% of the carriers in any game.

I really don't think there's an issue of having capable talent. It seems this is more an issue of coaches finding a player and sticking with him. RB depth seems like it's being managed the same way the OLine is (no rotating). We would have never seen Farniok on the field if Knevel wouldn't have gone down. There was a chance with the last coaching staff that we would have never seen Lavonte play unless Sean Fisher had go down. I'm looking forward to seeing what these guys can do when really given a shot.

The only reason Wilbon, Ozigbo, Bradley, Rose, and Mazour haven't had carries in the game is because the coaches decided they want to play one running back. They wanted to do this when they first arrived in Lincoln and they finally decided to ignore the depth chart and just run one back. THERE IS OTHER TALENT. Bryant isn't the only decent back. They haven't given Wilbon a shot in his career. They haven't even given him carriers during rare garbage time but he's shown flashes the few carriers he's had. Ozigbo on the other hand has played, has tape, and we can judge for ourselves. Ozigbo tape:

30+ carries in game one isn't a huge deal and shouldn't be too tough a task for most RBs. The issue is there's a long season ahead of us and RBs can take a beating over time. With Wilbon, Ozigbo, Rose, Mazour, and Bradley all able and ready, we shouldn't need to rely so heavily on Bryant.

Moss wouldn't have been on the team last year if he wouldn't have pulled out his dong. His eligibility would have expired after the 2015 season. True. This is a hypothetical for two seasons ago.

Imagine what a 3-4 defense could have looked like a few years ago. DEnd: Avery Moss, Greg McMullen Nose: Vince Valentine, Aaron Curry DEnd: Maliek Collins, Kevin Maurice OLB: Randy Gregory Dreaming at this point but that could have been an amazing defense

First experience at Camp Randall and there are Husker fans everywhere! I had expectations but they have been exceeded! GBR!!!

This offense is much more productive with the threat of QB run. Hopefully we see more than just QB draw moving forward and hopefully Tommy doesn't remain a statue!

Honestly I was a major Newby critic last yr. He never showed much will, agility/elusiveness, and didn't seem to have the top end speed that made him a top recruit. Not sure if it was health or him improving in the off season but he looks much better this season IMO. Seems quicker, hits the hole, shows some wiggle at times, and also has fought for tough yards. I like the trio of Ozigbo, Newby, and Wilbon combined with the threat of Tommy running on any given play. We get thunder (oz), lightning(34), Cory Ross like agility(Wilbon). Couple that with the x-factor, Tommy Armstrong running on any play and you have a lethal backfield regardless of who starts. Sticking with the original posters question on Newby vs Ozigbo... I'd take Wilbon. He can make something out of nothing and I am still furious that the run game was so lousy early last year yet they refused to let Wilbon play at all!

10-2 seems a little optimistic.I also feel Bo would have done a lot better than 5-7. I think we would have struggled with Wisconsin, Michigan St, and Iowa ended up 10-2 or 9-3. I feel this team easily had above .500 talent. With that being said, every game was competitive but Purdue this year and Riley's staff could have gone 9-3 or 10-2. The best thing about this staff is the ability to win the big game. I feel like we are positioned well. Take away the horrendous pass defense from the first half of the season and also keep Tommy from forcing deep balls in to double coverage and this team has a strong chance to do well next year. I do not feel a need for a huge over haul. Next year could be fun!

Nebraska had 61 carries the day Rex Burkhead had 38 carries. That's not comparable to yesterday's 38 total rushes. Also the lack of commitment to the run is tough to judge. These coaches brought a bland, pro style offense to a team that is designed to run more of a spread, zone read type of attack. You'd think we'd run more zone read or even spread option which Tommy is great at but instead we run bland dives and qb powers. I get that they want to run more of a pro style approach but it should be a given that you play to your strengths each year! This isn't a comparison of talent but I wonder what Baylor and TCU's offense would look like under Riley and Langsdorf

Turner took over a Kansas program with sky high expectations from their Orange Bowl appearance in '08. Couple crazy expectations with a team that had just lost 7 straight games, fired their coach, and lost key players like Todd Reesing, Kerry Meier, Desmond Brisqoe, Aqib Talib, James McClinton, Joe Mortensen, Brandon McAnderson and you're destined for a let down. You can't say Turner ruined Kansas Football. This is the same KU that hasn't had an outright conference title since 1930! They gave Turner 2 years to fix a terrible mess. Turner's 2 seasons at Kansas really says nothing to what he could have done at Nebraska.

Very good observation. Michigan State's DLine was able to predict when the ball was snapped because we never changed our cadence. It was always one clap and snap. I will rewatch the 2nd half of the game later but True2tRA, were you able to see any adjustments made in the 4th quarter? Side Note: All of you posting about the defense clapping and complaining about fans making excuses need to realize that this post has nothing to do with that subject! It's ridiculous how many of you are completely off topic!

Offense: Cross I'd love to see Imani's power in today's poor conditions. Playing on a wet, grassy field could really allow his skill set to shine! Defense: Mitchell and Davie Connor Cook consistently gets away with forcing passes. That may turn out to be a recipe for disaster on a wet, windy day. Ideally our Corners and come up big!

I would pencil in Anderson and McMullen too. Anderson seems like he has his spot locked down and Rose, Santos and Bando are battling for the other two. McMullen from all accounts is head over heals ahead of the backups at DE.Charles Jackson can be penciled in as well!

I don't know if it's because of the play calling! If you had seen TA's high school tape and you've watched each game he's played in, you'd know that TA is a HUGE fan of going deep when ever there's an opportunity.

You really think so? Yes, I do actually. I believe it too. With TA needing experience for next year, he should have been coming off the bench for RK3.
