  2. David Muniz ---------------------------------- Valente Rodriguez (George Lopez Show)
  3. Uhh....when did we start adopting Philadelphia Eagles fans?
  4. Does anybody else feel like they're watching an angry lion get poked with sticks?
  5. And last year too....his name was Joe Ganz: In addition to football, Ganz also lettered three times in baseball. In 2003, he batted .480 with seven homers and 38 RBIs as a shortstop. He hit .420 with eight homers and 45 RBIs to earn all-state honors as a senior.
  6. Lou Holtz is a serious spitter. There is an exchange of saliva with everyone he makes eye contact with during conversation. I don't know if that counts as a true 'make-out'. What are the requirements?
  7. Good article on BRN about Castille's situational performance. Basically, they're saying Castille's potential was more of a loss than his actual performance (outside of the gator bowl). He did not have great numbers as a 3rd down guy. LINK
  8. (EDIT) Sorry all...I have no idea how I keep posting this same comment....so I'm closing my browser and leaving.
  9. That sucks... Although, I am glad to see the staff keeping players accountable, even when they're high on the depth chart. Why is 'good athlete' and 'common sense' such a rare pair?
  10. My 2 cents on Suh: Year 1 (2005) - Knee Surgery/Redshirted Year 2 (2006) - Showed flashes, not fully acclimated to defensive system, considered disappointing season Year 3 (2007) - Showed flashes, fully acclimated to defensive system, considered disappointing season Year 4 (2008) - Coming off knee injury, first year in new defensive system, considered great season Year 5 (2009) - ???, Pre-season Conference & All-America Awards, Top Draft Prospect For Suh, the light could have just 'popped on' in 2008, but I would venture to guess that it was the coaching. It's evident that the defense has taken heavily to Pelini's way of doing things and is far better off for doing so. Callahan recruited Suh, but his staff didn't do much with him. Imagine his progress in 4-5 full years with Pelini & Company, versus if Coz were still around to manage his talent.
  11. Today's special: 2 drinks and a boneless rack.
  12. I feel your pain Missouri. I remember last year when I shared the news that Matt O'Hanlon was going to get the start against Western Michigan over Thenarse. People didn't like that one bit.
  13. Big of you. No harm, no foul.
  14. Agreed. It will come down to one of two things....the truth, or your discretion. I believe the guy. But on a side note, StreeterCL, I don't know who you are...but perhaps you're a bit too sensitive to be on a message board. It's 90% speculation and opinion. As long as the guy isn't badmouthing anybody or providing illegal information, don't blame the messenger. He didn't name a source....and if this information came from someone inside the program, it's their foul, not his. You're a couple words away from threatening the guy...
  15. Yeah. It's not that easy. And if you were here during the Rumorville days, you'd understand how simplistic you're making this. Just because I wasn't a member, doesn't mean I wasn't around. Wasn't all of that stuff in it's own thread group?
  16. I'm not trying to cast doubt on him, or anyone really. It's just so easy to fake info that you can't take anything at face value. Anyone who was here during the 2007 season will remember Rumorville and all the nonsense that went along with it. Everyone wanted to be listened to and nobody could name their source. It was a joke, and it left a lot of folks with a sour taste in their mouth for the boards. I was inactive here for a long time after that season, and I'm still leery of anyone with "inside information." It's fairly easy to tell when someone is messing around. There is a pattern: Insistence on being believed - Will challenge every doubter Immature posts Extremely low number of posts - No reputation at stake Earth-Shattering updates - Claims to have news that is a huge deal This guy really doesn't fit the profile. He posted a light update and he doesn't seem hell bent on making sure we all care. This one makes good sense. All summer long I've read about "Matt May, Matt May, Matt May." All last year I heard about the athletic prowess of Sean Fisher and the "it" factor of Will Compton as a middle backer. We know Pelini likes speed over size at the linebacker spot and he's not afraid to put freshmen on the field. If the guy was like "CODY GREEN IS TRANSFERRING!!!"....then we should beat him down (even if he was right).
  17. It's true. Out for the season: Redshirt freshman Kody Spano is out again. Spano, who tore his ACL in the spring and spent all summer furiously rehabbing to recover in time for fall camp, did it again to same knee, and has been lost for the rest of the season, head coach Bo Pelini confirmed Wednesday. “Football,” Pelini said. “That’s what happens. Just running. It was a non-contact injury. Happens.” Spano should “probably be full speed come winter conditioning,” Pelini said. Husker Locker Reports
  18. I can see why people aren't expecting much from Derrick Washington. Last year's numbers were the product of a dominant offense. Missouri had an experienced quarterback and leader (Daniel), an NFL tight-end (Coffman) and a wide receiver who was a must-watch on every single play (Maclin). With the passing prowess of last year's team, defenses had bigger fish to fry, especially in the middle. I can't help but think that in '09, Washington becomes the security blanket for the whole offense. Unless Gabbert is all-world right out of the gate, Washington has set himself up for something he may not want in a mediocre offense....lots of attention. Well find out how good he really is this season. I agree though, that in favor of a guy like Gray, Washington's numbers should be enough to make the list.
  19. Unless a guy is winning games all by himself, I don't think Pelini and Watson would stand for the common results of genuine cockiness. Alienation of teammates, inconsistent leadership (that wanes the second he takes an ego hit), a me-first agenda, etc. You see it all of the time, cocky QB's don't like to check down. Cockiness in the pocket equals turnovers. Offensive turnovers equals for Pelini. So far, I see this coaching staff placing a premium on humility and hard work.
  20. Not sure how much stock you can put in these home grown numbers, but I had heard of Michael Vick running a couple of 40s in the 4.2's. A lot of people argued he was the fastest player in the NFL (game speed). There are some plays that are hard to argue with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VQY4kwhmtg&NR=1 VTech 40s
  21. In ESPN's EA Sports College Football Top 25, we are listed at #21. Follow the link and check out the video for teams 21-25. They show a highlight of Suh breaking the line to sack Tyrod Taylor (VT), Mike McNeil going upside down for a score (again) and Roy Helu grinding it out for a touchdown. Nothing major, but it's been a long time since ESPN saw enough in NU to put us on the brink of the Top 20. I think a solid win against VT could be good enough for 15-18 in the polls. NU --> <-- ESPN Gettin back to the good ol' days...
  22. Wasn't there an article about how much Phil loved cupcakes and Rocky Road ice cream or something awhile back? Maybe his fridge techniques are as bad as the tackling was...
  23. I don't think I could spend my 100th post any better.... ...Roy He-lu is my He-ro!
