  1. Got my supply of Stoysich and will be home by 5. GBR.
  2. Sounds like they're headed in that direction doesn't it? The best part about that strategy is no matter what you do Suh will get his, but Crick's highlights will probably put him on the quick list for next year's Heisman race. Wouldn't that be somethin'.
  3. I'm not an alum, so I can't speak with any authority here, but I believe historically the band always travels by bus. Nobody can control the timing of the 2009 Christmas Blizzard. So, the powers that be made the decision not to put these kids at risk by attempting this bus trip. I respect that. Would they have been able to get flights on short notice, and remain sane fiscally? Maybe, maybe not. How about getting their equipment there on time? I agree it will be crappy not having the band there, and it will be noticed. I'm not sure what the options are given the timing of this storm, though. If I were a big time donor with big bucks, I would have been on the phone as soon as dropping the band became an option, trying to work something out.
  4. , Maudie. The past is past and without Mr. Peabody's Way Back Machine, and nothing be done about it. T_O_B Like I wrote, no knew news. Just nice to see it in print on the national level. Right. The guy posted about an article that appeared in today's USA Today. I'd say that's fodder for this discussion board. It is a discussion board after all.
  5. Now that would be a great day in the world of college football.
  6. When I look at what "might have been" this year I get really piffed. I generally try to stay away from "Coach X has got to go" arguments, but I can't get past this one. Every time I thought our defense couldn't get better, it did, and every time I thought our offense couldn't get worse, it did. Look at the development of our quarterbacks over the course of the year. Why did neither Zac nor Cody show any real improvement? Why didn't the o-line show improvement? I don't like what I see from this staff. I support Bo 100% because he is the coach of the Cornhuskers, so if Wats and co. stay then so be it. I will always love NU football, but I will not be disappointed if Watson and his crew depart for other pastures.
  7. Well, they did beat *ahem* Mizzou this year. I honestly think they might be competitive in football in the next few years. I'm anxious to see what Briles does, he seems to be bringing improvement. And if they can beat Mizzou without Griffin, imagine who they can beat next year with him! Yeah. I'm glad we have the TX / OKST rotation next year and not them. Edit: Not meant to slam your opinion. I agree that Baylor is improving and may beat some decent teams in the coming years.
  8. Well, Creighton will probably bring back their football team. Then who will I root for?
  9. Sorry if this is further down the thread. I took it one step further and grabbed the email address (a gmail address) and emailed this numb knots. Um, no response of course. I did not pick up on the date of the registration though, good catch.
  10. Your are correct. I haven't left my windowless underground bunker since November 23, 2001 when the only thing left that made me feel like I looked like George Clooney instead of Franken-Rivers melted down like Chernobyl and left me stranded in vast wasteland of despair and hopelessness... Is the sky still blue? I hope so, because I'm thinking I might emerge from the darkness next fall when we begin to finally put the horror that began on November 23, 2001 forever behind us and begin the next dynasty of Big Red dominance. ooohhh....bandwagoner. yeah, come join us horribly depressed minions that have continued to trudge to games and support the team. need me to send you some shirts? Thanks for the offer on the shirts, but I don't need them right now. I haven't put on any clothes since my solitary confinement began. I just sit around naked all day, picking at my scabs, lesions and tumors and watching reruns of the glory days and faithfully tuning into every Husker game that I can receive in my subterranean region of the country. When I do decide to emerge from the bowels of the earth, I will need something to cover my naked, disease infested body and microscopic genitalia. But I don't want to come out in just any old ordinary Husker gear. I want something special. Can you get your hands on an authentic Lil' Red suit? I know it won't be a huge improvement over my natural appearance, but it's what I want. I dream of one day suiting up as Lil' Red so that I can attend every Husker game and run and dance and jump and scream for our beloved Huskers and see the fans look down on me with only half of the revulsion that I encounter when in my true physical form. You got any connections to help me out? I take it all back.
  11. Blown up like like a quarterback draw that ended one step forward into the crushing embrace and subsequent body slam to the turf by Suh-per-man! You're still the man.
  12. Since I'm from there, I hit the San Antonio paper's web site every once in a while. Found this. http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/Heisman...nouncement.html
  13. I don't care if you're right or wrong man, I just want to run through a brick wall for you right now! I want you to preach at my church, dance at my wedding, sing at my funeral and rock out at my high school graduation. All right now. I'm going to name my first born son after you, and he's 22. I want you to coach my sons' tee ball games and teach my girls how to dance ballet. In other words, that was awesome.
  14. Surely he just misspoke...... Or misremembers.........lol Guys come on, as many times as Suh rung his bell I am surprised he can even speak. I would be laying in a tub full of yogurt singing the Sesame Street song to myself writing "SUH" over and over again on my arm with a pink marker.
  15. I'm not sure what topic this might belong on, and I'm sure not going to start a new one, and it's kind of relevant to some of the discussion in this topic, sort of, so here goes ... I was just listening to Sports Nightly and a caller asked this: has anyone reviewed how long it took to start the clock after the play started? If the time keeper's very human reaction time allowed the clock to run down after the play ended, did that same human have a similar delayed reaction time in starting the clock when the play started? Has this been reviewed? The host (Lane Grindle I believe) thought it was an interesting take on the matter. It's definitely an angle I had not thought of. IF it's been posted in another thread, I apologize.
  16. I'm more than twice your age and have been a Husker fan since Dec. 30, 1989. He is definitely my all time favorite Husker.
  17. Thanks for the support. It's gonna be a fun rivalry the next few years.
  18. Hey, I was guilty of that myself yesterday. I'm not proud that I did it. Time to move on. Good post.
  19. I'm not happy about the call, as I've said in other threads on this board, either UT gets screwed because the clock (maybe) should have been stopped or NU gets screwed because the refs improperly reviewed the stoppage of the clock. It's bad all the way around. All that said, Adi kicks the ball out of the end zone, or at least in bounds, and our chances of winning would have been greatly increased.
  20. Mind saying where that comes from? Cause its not in anything I posted... Ok... I see that you have edited your post to include a source... Now this brings up another problem, because IIRC Conference rules overrule NCAA rules, so then: Comes into play because nowhere in the Big 12 rules does it say something to the effect of "Any rules not discussed herein will be covered by the NCAA rulebook" So... that means that the play clock is NOT reviewable in Big 12 games But it really should be. (reviewable) Would you really want to win on that technicality? But the pass interference call when Colt tried to throw it away..Why was that not reviewable? And what is that..a 30 yd penalty for kicking the ball out of bounds? The better (overall) team won. Whether it should be reviewable is irrelevant. It's not. And it was not a technicality, it was a bonehead play by their QB followed by a possible mistake by the time keeping official. As I posted before in this (merged) thread, either UT gets screwed or NU gets screwed. The play should not have been reviewed.
