    Money

Big ten schools made 20 million each last year and this year for TV. Huskers I think made 10 million ruffly. So for the First 3 years the Huskers will make no Less then that and each of the current big 10 schools will make the same as they did this year. If there is more money after everyone is paid out what they currently make Nebraska will be get a % of that extra money. After the 3 years we will be a full member and revenue will be split 12 ways.
  2. I just dont understand how they can come with this number on how much they will be making since they dont have a new TV contract. It is in place until 2015 and you better hope that OK or UT play for a National title in the next couple of years or you can kiss that huge payday out the window. I wouldnt really say the other schools are Texas bitch but they didnt really have any other place to go and make that kind of money if its true.
  3. Hmm kind of funny that we would be a hillbilly. We all know that is Oklahoma according to Billy C.
  4. Was great to get that out there in the public The Truth will always sound better then a bunch of lies from Texas about us. Their is no way they can make us out to be a bad guy after that announcement.
  5. Possibly at 4 something this afternoon at the press conference.
  6. Wow I just heard that Boise State moved to the Moutain West offically now. Everyone is moving
  7. Crash the gates Knapplc and then give a shout out right in the middle of the presser!
  8. Got to love Kevin K. he acts just like your average Joe and not some stuffy news guy.
  9. Yeah mine to they are going into a closed session now. 1620 is behind by about 30 seconds.
  10. The Oz just came out and said "F-U" Points at Texas "F-U" points at Texas Tech "your cool" points at Oklahoma and then says "going to the Big Ten I'm out" Promptly put mic down and walks off the stage!
  11. I'm using it still waiting as it says some of it will be held in closed session.
  12. Would be really nice to be able to take one away from Standford since we lost a few to them last couple years.
  13. Press the BIG RED button already!!!!!!!!
  14. I have a feeling that Henry will have a break out year this year in a back up role. McNeil will cause alot of mis matches in the slot which should really help Paul and Kinnie or who ever else is in there.
  15. Big ten network is based off of housholds that have the big ten network not how many people watch it. Here in omaha you wont get the big ten network unless you have a certain level of cable. For each household that has that level of cable the big ten would then get a certain dollar amount each month per houshold. So the more viewers in a area even if they dont watch it but have that tier of cable would be paying the big ten. I have that tier on my cable box, so even though I don't watch the channels I still count towards their money. What they are hoping for is people in that area dont have it already and would be willing to upgrade to that service to get it since every single game is on TV no more Payper view. Now the question is if Cox here local will boost the cost of that tier if they know Nebraska is going to be on ever game. Heck if I was Cox I would raise that tier by 30 bucks a year since almost every one of us has bought at least one a year for the past 10 years.
  16. We took a look at the first ESPNU 150 last week as it relates to the Big 12, and Texas had more of the nation's top recruits, with eight, than any team in college football. So it's no surprise the Longhorns sit atop ESPNU's first class ranking for 2011. But first, a disclaimer from the recruiting folks: This is way early and things are going to change. Players will change their minds and more than half of the players in the ESPNU 150 are still undecided. Remember, this is just a starting point. We simply looked at which programs have the best classes based on commitments they have right now. Oklahoma ranked No. 4 nationally in the rankings, and has the second-most ESPNU 150 commits with six. Here are the rest of the teams from the Big 12 in the top 25. No. 12: Nebraska No. 14: Texas Tech No. 17: Oklahoma State ESPN link
  17. I would agree if we didn't have an almost full OL class already. I voted in terms of what the biggest recruiting need is from here onwards. Voted for WR because the O line was almost full already.
  18. So if he is part of the 2010 class has he been evaluated yet was hoping he would be a 3 star just so it would push us over the edge and drop Miz zhity below us in the final rankings just because I dont like them that much!!!! Not sure if Rivals goes back and updates stuff like that but it would be nice.
  19. Because in that scenario we'd assume that Texas is willing to share everything equally like the rest of the members do. No imbalance of power would exist in the Big Ten. since when are we for equal distribution of tv money? we never have been for that at NU, we and Texas take the lion's share and if we didn't like it that way we'd be charitable I'm sure. NU was 5th in the last released info on revenue sharing - though it was 2007 . This does not include gate, concessions, merchandise and pay-per-view. SO if we would do equal revenue sharing in the Big 12 we would have lost about 600k. Texas would have lost 1.7 mill as where Baylor would have made 1.6 more. They would have averaged 8.5 million. Cant remember what the Big 10 gets but its alot more then 8.5 million.
  20. That's from Paul's DUI last year, not this incident. The article isn't written very clearly, but Bo's statement wasn't about this time around. I'm sure he'll issue a statement in the next 24/48 hours, and it'll probably be something like this again. I would be surprised if Niles doesn't sit out at least one game. You have to send a message. Hey, apparently I'm an idiot (surprising nobody), because I just read on another website that Bo's comment was for THIS situation, meaning "it's been handled." Maybe that's a confusing quote or maybe nobody really knows yet, but it looks like this is going to blow over. Its on ESPN College football front page saying that same quote so dont feel to Bad!
  21. Listed AS 8th on the list. Nebraska's recruiting machine is on the verge of a breakout year. Tackle Tyler Moore, center Ryne Reeves and guard Ryan Klachko comprise the best C-G-T combo in the 2011 class. Moore is Scout's eighth-best tackle and maybe the second-best run-blocking tackle in the class behind LSU's La'El Collins. Klachko is Scout's 11th-best guard and a monster interior lineman, standing 6'4" and weighing 280 pounds. The jewel of the class so far is Reeves. Scout's second-best center, Ryne Reeves is the top prospect in Nebraska for 2011, a junior All-American at the Nike Combine and an elite athlete with the perfect size (6'3", 285 lbs) for the center position. The Huskers are also adding another versatile weapon to their bin of skill position players in QB/ATH Jamal Turner. He's Scout's 11th-best quarterback, and though his size (6'1", 170-lbs) may not project well at the D-I level, he'll provide good depth at the quarterback position should the Huskers be forced keep their QB competition open after this year. link
  22. Looks good and shedding the blockers and has a high motor. I love these types of kids that want to play for us might not be the fastest or the best kid out there but he has the desire to a Husker. I know someone said he might fit into and OLB role I like that Idea for him but I think he would need to work on his speed a bit more 4.81 is a little slow for a OLB but if he can change that a little bit I think it would be a great fit for him.
  23. Agreed, I think it was a great thing for him and his mother to do. Are we still interested in him now that we have gotten 2 saftey commits already?
  24. Well the Big 12 already owns the trademark big 14 I have been looking on the trademark site for any clues.
  25. Yeah wasnt to hard to find! still looking for a LOGO one if I find it I will post that too!
