  1. As a long time Packer fan, I have to say I couldn't be happier. It will be awesome to have a Husker on the ring of honor at historic Lambeau Field. The best part is the Bears were getting their asses handed to them so bad that they switched over to the Pack game and I got to see it on live TV. Too bad we were up by 11 when they switched and then lost to 0-6 Tampa. Sumama Bitch! Pretty special for my all time favorite Husker and Packer. (Used to be him and Favre tied, but we all know how that turned out.)
  2. For the love of God, couldn't we have just resurrected one of last week's threads. Or the week before that, or the week before that.
  3. OP; tackling is terrific! Agreed, and it's damn fun to watch... Other thought; we have a tailgate in Haymarket area, and see many opposing fans for each game just walking the area... Sooner fans (at least the ones who travel) are GREAT! I can't tell you how many Sooner fans told us they'd been coming to Lincoln for a very long time, and love and respect the Husker Nation. (so i'd like to drop the whole 'Hillbillies' thing too... consider the source) ...but he was excellent in every area!?! I know...
  4. The pitch was right in Helu's hands and should have the been caught. Was Lee's read spot-on? No! But his read and pitch had nothing to do with Helu dropping the pitch. Considering that Bo jumped all over Watson and Watson jumped all over Lee, do you think Lee checked off to the option play and got ripped for doing so? Possibly, but wonder what play was called that would have made him check to the option? Regardless, it was a blown opportunity and all were to blame. I actually think he was to check out of that play. If you watch what Wats says to him it appears to be something that looked like "didn't you see that shift?" The secondary/LB adjusted on the play and Zac didn't adjust us. Now maybe he said, "You can't see sh#t" but I don't think so!!
  5. What language was that? Let me try to help: I foresee this game being closer than many predict. In particular, the Nebraska offense will play better than recent history indicates. I think we will have spectacular success both running the ball and passing because the Kansas defense is not as stingy as Oklahoma's. The defense will probably get three turnovers. I think the Blackshirts get 2 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery caused by a bone jarring hit from Crick and Suh. The Nebraska offense will come out strong both in the first drive and throughout the first half. Nebraska will win by at least 27-13 no matter which quarterback plays. I'm more confident about our offensive production in this game than I was about the same in the past. Watson will pull his head out for once! Carlfense, your new nickname is Rosetta Stone....
  6. Really? As a head coach. How much was the Alabama offer for the OC job?
  7. Awww, Knapp...you know I was just joshin' ya!!
  8. Like I said, hate to be that guy...just wanted you to know before somebody was an asshat about it.
  9. Dude it was awesome, but the order for the quote is incorrect. I hate to be that guy, but it starts with Not the Victory but the action
  10. Ndamukong Suh is (last that I saw, anyway) the number one overall player on both ESPN and SI's draft board. These boards include McCoy. That says something.
  11. When you play spread teams, blitzing is something you want to avoid. Granted you want pressure, but Nebraska is doing that with the front 4, leaving 7 in coverage. When you can do that why in the hell would you blitz more than 1 or 2 times?
  12. If he would have known that people the world over would use that to end arguments when they can't think of anything to back up their point, he would have never allowed them to print it. I think he already explained where he was coming from but you two simply disagree. Fair enough.
  13. This game will more than likely be the nail in the coffin for this program. Our history is now ancient, we havent played for a title in 9 years or a major bowl, we have pretty much been a doormat in the conference since then. If we take another beat down on National T.V. it really is not doing us any favors. I dont know how many nationally televised games we can get our asses handed to us before we become completely irrelevant, but I am suspecting this to be the one that does it. Ancient = 9 years ago? I agree things may look bad now, but I think this is a little far people.
  14. Exactly. Plus Holt has no business being mentioned in any "fastest guy" scenario. He is NOT fast for a WR.
  15. Considering I am the only one that is correct, the defense is really easy. But you'll never experience this. Here's the tip. Learn the ability to remove emotion from any topic and then learn to tell it like it is. Very few people have this ability. Keep up the wrong work. A rivalry game is one that can never be questioned as to whether or not it is a rivalry. NU vs. OU has tradition but since they no longer meet every year and play for the same stakes as they played for in the Big 8 days, the rivalry label is gone. Again it's a game with tradition. But today, it's solely just a game, than it is a rivalry. Opinion: a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. Fact: Knowledge or information based on research, recurrent testing, or evidence. also: recognized by a governing board or agency as so. Vince, you continue to struggle with your basic 5th grade vocabulary words. You see, your opinion is that it isn't a rivalry. It is your personal view, granted you may share your appraisal with others, but it is still your personal view. The fact of the matter is that it is a rivalry because the two universities, and their collective fanbases, still hold it as a rivalry. Those would be the aforementioned governing boards. The evidence would be the amount of times it is referred to by said boards as a rivalry. You, and the high horse you rode onto this board with, should take a long walk off of a short pier. I, and am sure I am not the only member, are sick of you de-railing every thread with your uncontrollable need to begin arguments for the sake of trying to make yourself out to be some kind of purveyor of truths. You have proven that your so called "intelligence" and correctness have as much credibility as the rumor mongers. You see, the internet is a wonderful thing. You can pretend anything you want, even if you don't properly research your early childhood education lessons in order to not sound uninformed when you do so. Gee, I'm sorry me being right and dealing in facts upsets you so. Whether you like it or not, I don't care. Just deal with it. If you don't want to me correct you, then stop being wrong. It's that simple. But then I'm sure you'll have an opinion on that. I'm even more certain, based on your consistency, it will be wrong. Your consistent lack of understanding of the premise of fact and opinion befuddle me.
  16. So the guy who made this original comment knows he is coming back next season then? I doubt he does. From OU's website:
  17. What's that mean? Iowa beat Iowa state earlier in the year... It means that it is my opinion that Iowa State would beat Indiana at this point in the season. It is also my short way of saying I don't believe that the Big 10 is very good. However, Iowa is having a hell of a year and I am happy for their fans.
  18. I will be sending a card. I can afford $2 or so to send him something to wish him well. Lord knows his parents could use some support right now.

  20. Texas fans have to love these guys. Talk about ammunition.
  21. If he would have known that people the world over would use that to end arguments when they can't think of anything to back up their point, he would have never allowed them to print it.
  22. Yes you would. That is what a QB's job is. Do you understand what "managing" the game means? He is talking about not forcing things and letting the game come to him. You don't want him trying to go downfield 40 yards on every play because then (as was already covered) you open yourself up to blitz packages on 3rd and 10 that will pressure your QB. Pressure causes mistakes by QB (especially true freshman), there is a reason they keep the stat QB Hurries. What would you rather he say, "I'm just told him that I am going to call a home run pass on every down. We don't think they can stop us no matter what they do," would that be better? Good God people, are we going to crucify Watson for everything he says? This is getting out of hand. "What did you have for dinner last night, Shawn?" says Sipple. "I went to Applebee's and got a steak," answers Watson. This is put in the paper and some crazy fan on random message board bitches because he "isn't about the Nebraska way, he didn't eat at Misty's. Fire him and bring somebody in that understands what we stand for in a steakhouse. Turner Gill would eat at Misty's." This is about how bad this is getting. YOU ARE READING TOO MUCH INTO THIS.
