They would never finish and the damn thing would crash before it would finish, so maybe it just took 100 times to actually download. Vista is a piece of crap, man.
  3. I wish everyone would just shut up about the saltwater aquairum guy There is such a thing as overuse. It's not even funny anymore. Drop it already. Dude...are you a salt water aquarium guy? Is that why it bothers you so much? How's Bob Davie doing?
  4. Still laughing about the Ear BRAVO!!!! Yes sir! That was hilarious!
  5. It also shows that without a great support staff, anybody can fail. Chris from the AD was fantastic, shows it is a culture in that entire Athletic Department. I believe this is similar to what Bo wants for the football team as far as culture. Family with united goals and support for each other. This story made me feel great to have TO back. GO BIG RED!
  6. Tommie Frazier as a QB coach, at Nebraska, now? I don't think so, no thank you. First off...he is a terrible coach, atrocious. Nowhere near Division 1 quality, let alone Big XII, not to mention we now run a passing offense. I'd rather have Ganz or Taylor. Frazier would fail as a coach. Loved the guy as a player, but don't let that cloud your judgement against the evidence of his coaching ability. Not a good coach.
  7. Oh, come on. That rule was in place when he played. Sure he had been corrected now. You have 10 posts and your sig is an anti-JP comment. Ya, I'll listen to your objective opinion on this matter.
  8. Didn't see this one posted already.... By TIM UNRUH Salina Journal It was clear to Jerome Schoel that his son, Jon, was having a good time watching over a sea of fans clad in red and white cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. "He doesn't speak, but you could tell by his facial features. He enjoyed it," Jerome said. It was the teenager's dream to someday play football at Nebraska, but a nasty virus when he was in the sixth grade at St. Mary's Grade School, Salina, drastically changed his life. Attending a game in Lincoln, Neb., his first, was the next best thing, and Overland Park-based Kansas City Dream Factory delivered Saturday. The nonprofit chapter connects kids suffering from life-altering illnesses with dream experiences. Jon and family enjoyed top-notch treatment in Lincoln, and all expenses were covered. Unfortunately, Iowa State beat Nebraska 9-7. "We lost, but it was awesome. He got to do something that we would have never been able to give him," said Brenda Schoel, Jon's mother. "He was, like, in seventh heaven. It was wonderful to be there. We got to meet a lot of neat, neat people." Among them were legends Tom Osborne, the former Husker coach, U.S. representative and current athletic director, and former Nebraska and NFL defensive end Grant Wistrom. The Schoels, which include Jon's sisters Tina, of Lawrence, and Alisha, of Kansas City, watched the game from Wistrom's luxury suite. Jon Schoel was given a personal note and a signed NU football from head coach Bo Pelini and Osborne and several other gifts. "Jon was so excited. He sat there and held onto the football for most of the game," Brenda said. The family stayed two nights at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel, courtesy of the management. "It's an awesome hotel, outta my league. I couldn't afford one night," Jerome Schoel said. "They were really good to us, catered to our every need. We had a real joyous time." Jon was stricken at age 12 with viral encephalitis, which causes swelling on the brain, and spent six weeks in a coma at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., Brenda Schoel said. He turned 18 Thursday and is fighting back from a number of disabilities, his mom said, requiring him to re-pattern his brain. Jon is a senior at Salina South and requires constant care. A nurse and a care assistant accompany him to school and at home, Brenda Schoel said. She is a paraeducator at Salina Central. Jerome Schoel is a body technician at Conklin Cars, 2700 S. Ninth. KC Dream Factory learned of Jon's dream from Alisha, who is training to be an occupational therapist at the University of Kansas Medical Center, said Peggy Phillips, the nonprofit group's director of procurement. The Kansas City chapter grants 75 to 85 dreams a year for children ages 3 to 18 in Kansas, Missouri and parts of Iowa. This one turned out well, she said, right from that first call to the university. "I decided to call this Bo Pelini guy, and I got hold of him," Phillips said. She didn't know he was the 'Huskers' head coach. "I'm a little football challenged," she said. Pelini was eager to help out Jon and referred Phillips to Chris Anderson, associate director of community relations for the Cornhusker Athletics Department. "She went far above and beyond the call," Phillips said. "It was really the university that elevated the trip to a dream." Because Jon's body temperature cannot be regulated, he needed to watch the game in a controlled environment. Wistrom offered his suite to the Schoel family. Osborne spent most of the game with the Schoels. "Chris met them at the stadium, made sure they had parking right outside and made sure Jon had a personal attendant. They had all kinds of food in the suite," Phillips said. "Afterward, Jon got to go on the field and met a lot of coaches and players." The Dream Factory's goal is to put smiles on faces of children, Phillips said "for at least a few days or a few hours, and let them forget about all their problems." Mission accomplished, for the Schoels. "They're a fabulous family," Phillips said, "truly one of the nicest I've worked with."
  9. 100% spot on, Cotton/Bo's philosophy is physical. I think Watson is more into spread type finesse football.
  10. I have owned both. Never considered a Mac until last year when my computer went down, because Windows Vista was a massive piece of sh#t. So was ME, by the way. Now I own two MacBooks and I absolutely love them. I will never go back. The things you can do with the mouse pad alone make it worth it. I feel like I am in a Sci-Fi movie every time I use it Not to mention the processing speed and the fact it does everything for me. I am not a computer genius, this thing is so user friendly. I don't have to worry about installing drivers or anything else. It just does everything automatically. Oh and to the person who said the Macs had a lot of updates, not nearly the amount Vista had and they are much faster to download and don't slow the entire computer down when they do it. Much better product. Plus its made of stainless steel. edit: also anyone that has had problems with the charging plug or cord with a PC will love the MacBook cord. Magnetic so when it is pulled on it just releases instead of messing up the plug or socket in the notebook.
  11. I caught that, too, but there are SO MANY college grads for whom those kinds of errors are the norm that I don't even mention it anymore. I see errors like that all day, every day, from people who are, allegedly, pretty smart. It's kind of disheartening when you think what our education system is like. Not going to hijack the thread with this, but it will get worse unless we fix NCLB.
  12. Oops, ran into the spelling police I'll promise to fix that officer! i'll let you off with a warning this time, but if i catch you misspelling words around here again i'll have no choice but to give you a ticket. ... If you're going to pull the spelling police you should probably make sure you understand capitalization!
  13. Maybe this time we will see both QBs play.
  14. QB - Adi Kunalic IB - Eric Martin FB - Ndamukong Suh WR -Dejon Gomes WR -Prince Amukamara TE - Sean Fisher LT - Baker Steinkuhler LG - C - Jared Crick RG - RT - FS - Curenski Gilleylen SS - CB - Niles Paul CB -Cody Green OLB - MLB -Zac Lee OLB - DE - DE - DT - Hickman DT - Alex Henr
  15. Not that I don't feel that Ron Brown is a superior WR coach over Gilmore, because it is painfully obvious that he is, but if you think there will be a player see that field at WR that can't block with Ron Brown coaching you have another thing coming.
  16. How does being a heroine addict (sorry but you're never a former addict, that term doesn't exist) have anything to do with whether or not you remember how a successful team practiced that you were a part of for 5 years? This argument is asinine.
  17. Oh, sorry you must have this message board confused with the fantasy message boards where everyone agrees with each other, never complains and there's always a happy ending. Wake up Dorothy, unless I'm completely naive what you've described is the actual purpose and idea of a message board. The point of a message board is to discuss football. Its hard to do that with all of your guys' spam all over. They offer nothing to the board but junk. Don't be ridiculous, there are plenty of other topics for you to read. Obviously the "start Green" topic is the most popular right now, but the best thing about this board is, you're more than welcome to start your own insightful topics any time you want, this just doesn't happen to be one. I agree with what ya C-4.. or what I think your trying to say... in that it'd be nice to actually discuss football instead of having to scroll through numerous threads with heads hitting the wall or palms over the face.. there are way too many people not interested in not discussing football and have nothing better to do with there time then put the clickable smilies into a thread and add nothing to a conversation Wouldn't expect anything less out of ya.. way to not let me down Oh come on, that was funny. I doubt I am considered a "clickable smiley" guy, thought it would get a laugh...
  18. Very true, to the medical staff, the coaches and the Burkhead family. and don't forget, to me as a fan. Illegal unless freely given by the patient, how many times do we have to cover this same point in the same thread?
  19. Examples, Illinois and Zook. Florida St over the past few years, Notre Dame. How about the Miami Dolphins? They had top notch talent, I know this because it is the NFL. They had a terrible coach. Bring in a good coach, now they are good. Denver Broncos are terrible last year, one of the worst defenses in the league, bring in a new coaching staff....best defense and maybe best team in the league. Weird how that works. You're right, though. Coaching doesn't matter, only players. That's why the recruiting coordinator makes $100 grand and the head coach makes $2 million.
  20. I hate to say it but, I don't think it's that the younger guys have earned it as much as it is the guys ahead of them haven't done enough to keep it. +1

  22. ....hate Steve Pederson for bringing my dad into a situation where he was destined to fail and not giving him good advice. Then smile when I realize my dad is rich from a lucrative buy-out and a good job with the Jets. Seriously people, Callahan was a terrible experiment here at Nebraska. No denying that one. However, he is one hell of an NFL assistant coach. Have you seen what they have done rushing the ball this season? Each party is better off now.... LET IT GO!
  23. If Bo insists that green is not ready --- well then why is Green not redshirting then? If the guy is not ready, why burn his shirt? If we accept at face value what Bo says, then the mistake made was wasting the redshirt opportunity for Green. Maybe because Bo thinks that you need a backup who has at least some live game experience in case the starter goes down? Good point. All that is left is a linebacker. maybe you are right. Geesh.... this gets worse the more I think about it. Maybe old Bo isn't as dumb as some think huh? This is what I've decided is happening. You can't tell me, as easily as Bo pulls guys off of that Defense and puts in somebody else if they aren't making plays, he wouldn't call for the QB change if he thought it would work. Listening to Watson he said Cody is just now beginning to compete with Zac. I took it as meaning he was waaaay behind him. In all honesty, that is exactly what we've been hearing all year. I will say this, the Kody Spano injury sure looms big right about now, doesn't it?!
