  1. I didn't realize that Fabian and Latravias were cousins... Somehow that little tidbit never made it onto my radar. Oh and to the point of the original post: If Cody Green is going to be the #2 QB and not redshirt then he better play enough to make it worthwhile. I can envision packages where CG lines up at WR or even TE on passing plays. No worries.... To your second point...abso-frickin'-lutely agree. Let's use him all over the field in order to allow him to effect games.
  2. And the conspiracy theorists continue to rant and rave........... What the hell are you talking about? There is no conspiracy here. Only a bunch of fans willing to accept whatever Bo says, simply because Bo said it. I'm not against Q being dismissed nessasarily. And if you took the time to read most of my posts, instead of lobing lame insults at me because you dislike me. Then you would know I'm a big fan of Bo, and believe he was the best choice for NU when hired. But that doesn't mean I like his attitude and handling of the media. I feel as a fan of one of the biggest CFB programs in the country, and a direct contributer to the university for the majority of my life. (remember, public institution= tax funded) I feel the people sometimes deserve more of an explanation than, "I'm done talking about this!" or, "This is an internal matter." Sorry, but that's not always good enough for me. Especially considering there can be a strong argument made that his "cleaning house" is a bit more arbitrary than many of you, or the media are trying to portray it to be. .................Now that is a rant!!! Hate to hammer on this post anymore than it has been already, but Bo doesn't owe you anything. He reports to Tom Osborne, who reports to Harvey Pearlman, who reports to the Board of Regents. The Board of Regents are elected officials we put in place in order to run the universities for us. The way the system of a republic works, they would be the only ones that truly would owe us an explanation because they are who we directly "oversee". Chains of command are tricky that way in state-ran hierarchy. You have to follow them to get an answer, so I suggest if you really want an answer then meet with the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and they will go down the line from there. I promise you they will jump all over that for you. Here's the information:
  3. Could this be true?? If so, then the solution is easy. Nebraska should just legalize marijuana rather than kick Castille off the team. Problem solved. I vote for that one!!!
  4. Converted linebacker? Yep. Although LaTravius did play QB in high school if I'm not mistaken. And, I do believe that Ohio State and a couple other schools wanted LW as a QB. How he ended up at Nebraska as a LB? Good recruiting by the former staff I guess. His first cousin is Fabian Washington and he always wanted to be a Husker. Callahan said, for good reason, he wouldn't fit as a QB in his system but LTW still wanted to be here.
  5. I have to agree Jack here. I mean, if we really need a short yardage back, I think either of them is more or less our guy. Burkhead is a cut and slash runner similar to Helu. Ward is listed as 6'3 215 pounds while Okafor is listed as 6'1 225. If you're looking for height and power you might want to go with Ward because Okafor has always been a fast back and Ward has generally been that power guy. With the departure of Castille, however, I think it's very possible that Zimmerer or another fullback could get the rock. But, he's young and he is still in the same weight range as Ward and Okafor. Hate to disagree here, but Ward is actually a long strider that shys from contact a little. Okafor is a between the tackles guy that can run outside as well. This is from the Life in the Red Blog on the Journal-Star's website: -
  6. Dude, simmer down. Holy sh#t, I just found it and asked if anyone else had heard it. He is from Texas and does cover B12 for ESPN. I suppose it could have some basis. Normally he is a tool, I just don't want you to have health problems because of this article.
  7. yea i hated those uni's too...and man was that a cold game...i still get chills thinking about it. and thanks about the pic. It looks like Texas with red instead of Burnt Orange.
  8. That's a great point Jayhawk. oSu is running a more run-oriented version of the spread. OU runs some prostyle still, and Texas runs the ball. Baylor's spread is a run version when they run it. I would say we have gotten our fair share of great RB in this conference recently.
  9. You are right, we have 3 of the top players in the country on our team, you only have 1. I have no idea how you figure you are loaded and we are a cut below. Some of you guys like to just write everything off to Cosgrove, but we have beaten a few teams other than you all over the last few years. We have got some talent. I liked our odds before you lost Q, like em better now. More people could get hurt though. We showed up banged up in Lincoln last year, and it showed. You play us late and Reesing ain't a big dude, so that could happen again. How you can write us off with such a bold statement is a little misguided in my view. I would say it is because we are all very anxious for the season to start and it is getting harder and harder to come up with a topic..... I also wouldn't say any KU fan should write off Nebraska either.
  10. I think we still have a chance. I would be lying if I said I am as confident as before. I really believe defense is the reason we were picked anyway.
  11. Dude, I forgot Cally went with all white unis against CU in 2007. Man, that pisses me off still.... Sweet Pic though!!
  12. So are you saying that the drug test(s) story is correct? Props to the original poster for the news updates. As others have said, this place would be really boring if all anyone did was regurgitate newpaper articles. p.s. This really sucks. The backfield better stay healthy or we've got some serious problems. I know that Bo swings a big bat, but I have to wonder why there couldn't have been a suspension at some point(as a "wake up call") before the dismissal. Grrrrrrrrrr Apparently Tim Griffin knows something about this... The bolded part, had anybody else heard this? Also, when I was in college if a guy tested positive for any banned substance they were immediately held out of practice and tested again to make sure it wasn't a false positive. That makes perfect sense, and unless it was a performance enhancer the NCAA wouldn't be involved. Weed does make sense. I'm just stating personal experience that could relate, not accusing anyone before I get accused of libel or something Knapp, j/k man. LOL
  13. Why do you think that? Not trying to start an argument, but Bo said Burkhead is "clearly number 2 now."
  14. Hey, just thought. Maybe LaTravis Washington???? He did used to be a LB, so he shouldn't shy away from contact. j/k.....maybe?!?
  15. Collins Okafor, possibly? That is a great question.
  16. The part in red...Ummm just for your information... Rex Burkhead was a 4 recruit and rated as the 9th best RB in the nation last year according to rivals.com and Quentin Castille was a 4 from LaPorte, Texas (Yeah I know he's no longer with the team and that's a completely seperate issue.) And if what I've read about Aaron Green, current Nebraska DB Andrew Green's little brother, is true he's as good as N and will probably be the #1 ranked RB in Texas, possibly the nation and a 5 to boot. Wasn't Dontraveyous Robinson a 4 star as well?
  17. Ya, I found that. It's in another thread about Castille. I may be mistaken, but I believe if you transfer in conference you lose an additional year of eligibility. I will look for a link on that. Yep, I was right. That should stop him from going to Mizzou or a rival in conference.
  18. He's already nicknamed Superman, but I like the Prescription. Aspirin is kind of a do-all. We could call him that. I can just here the play by play now. "Lee takes the snap, looks left, turns back and flips a screen pass to Burkhead. He breaks a tackle, follows his block...oh what a move, he left that Missouri defender grasping for air. He will score. Rex "The Prescription" Burkhead had just what the doctor ordered on that play for Nebraska."
  19. Kind of like Rex Burkhead, who was a 4 star and 9th best in the nation at RB??? He was also first team 5A in Texas.
  20. I agree. And, for the coaches, especially Bo Pelini, to speak so highly about an individual player, a true freshman RB to boot, speaks volumes about just how good this kid must be. RACE!!! He's white, so folks all wanted to make him a safety or a WR or an OLB. You're telling me Bob Stoops said, "na the kid is white. I don't care about the film and all of his success in the hardest division in THE ENTIRE NATION for HS football. Since he's white he can't play RB, he has to play OLB"???? That has to be the most naive thing I have ever read, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Consider the source, that's what Grandpa always says..............
  21. I may be mistaken, but I believe if you transfer in conference you lose an additional year of eligibility. I will look for a link on that. Yep, I was right. That should stop him from going to Mizzou or a rival in conference.

  23. Wow, the "special" forum is on another site. I believe it is called TigerBoard.
