  1. The kid, nor the article attempted to throw Nebraska under the bus. Why are people attacking the kid? The article clearly states that Bo and the rest of the staff had a very high opinion of him but it just didn't work out here. No need to take that personally and start trashing the kid. WTF??? On another note, it's not like he's at some D3 school fluffing his ego with playing time. UF is, by a fairly common opinion, a bigger pond than Nebraska...
  2. The Wisconsin "Nittany Lion" Badgers? This is going to be confusing.
  3. Claiming that the kick wasn't intentional is naive. The swinging leg was part of the tackle but there was an obious kick at tbe end once he felt pressure against his foot. Very obvious.
  4. That kick was intentional. No question in my mind. I root against him now. Thug...
  5. Rex has a ton of support from Husker fans (well deserved IMO) but upon his return should A.A. still be the primary back? Has he earned that position during Rex's absence? I'm concerned that Rex will have a bit of rust in a part of the season where we cant afford to be getting anybody back up to speed.
  6. Sounds like several other fan bases... Edit: Including us.
  7. No. Please enlighten me as to why there is a general disdain for ND.
  8. Wanting to avoid permanent neurological damage by selecting away from certain activities does not make you soft. FYI, nor does avoiding stab wounds, bullet wounds, or falling from high places...
  9. I think it was Lou Holtz who has suggested that they take the facemasks off of helmets in order to reduce using the head/helmet as a weapon. It's an interesting thought. Unfortunately, you can improve the helmets or the other equipment as much as you want but you can't do much about the fatty and fragile mass of neurons inside the skull. It wasn't designed to tolerate the acceleration/deceleration injuries involved in a contact sport like football. As much as I love watching Husker Football, I hope my kids golf.
  10. But they didn't know. The science is new. This knowledge was not around at the time these people played. Not that it makes the lawsuit more valid but the extension of that argument is now that the school/organization DOES know about potential damage, how do they justify the risk? Who is liable? Btw, I'm not a lawyer.
  11. I have only daughters as of right now. I would prefer that my kids do not play contact sports (soccer is getting pretty bad for girls as far as ACL's and concussions). I love watching football and realize that there is some hypocrisy in my position, but then again, I don't remember any of these kids parents asking my opinion... The more we learn about the brain, and the effects of these activities, the more restrictions will be forced into place.
  12. Will the game ONLY be on the BTN? Or, is there some hope that it will be shown nationally one something like espn, abc, etc. Thanks.
  13. Lil' Red is the creepiest mascot on the planet. Nightmare creepy...
  14. He certainly does not seem like the kind of person who you'd like your son to idolize. His football talents are beyond question. His character??? (Where there's this much smoke, there tends to be fire.)
  15. They cite a source named The Dude...
  16. I just don't see it. I hope I'm wrong. We haven't had one or two bad games in terms of sloppy play. We've demonstrated a consistent pattern of sloppy play. Having said that, I am still hoping for a middle of the season change in direction!
  17. If you did not recognize that the post was in jest, I'm sad for you.
  18. It almost appeared that they were protecting Taylor by not allowing him to run. Is this another indication that our backup QB's are a big step behind TM and that if he were to be injured we'd be completely lost?
