I want to know who called the pass plays on 3rd and 2 and then 4th and 2. That kind of sums up this staff's inability in 2 plays.

Even if the coaches are trying to find solutions, when players execute this poorly it still has to go back to coaches. If your players don't believe in the staff and the scheme they will under-achieve. There is no fire. Most players are going through the motions. That has to go back to leadership. I don't think we have a lot of on field leaders right now but it starts at the top with Billy C.

Anyone watch the ESPN "game shows" like Around the Horn or PTI? Yesterday they talked Osborne and they were obsessed with this notion that he said he was "pretty much" done with coaching in his interview. They kept speculating will Osborne actually end up coach? Then they all went on to say Gill will be the next coach. (1 did mention Pellini). So much of what they had to say showed me that they had about a press releases amount of info on the subject. It just wasn't accurate. Kind of weak really.

If the students want to chant that then cool with me. If people want Bo to coach what a great way to let people know. Just last week we all wanted this staff gone. PUD gets, axed, TO is in, and now many are saying "just let TO decide!" No, make your voices heard regardless of who is AD. I'm sure he'll make a great choice and bring back much of the husker tradition but that doesn't mean we all have to sit by and passively watch.

Is there really anything that he could say in that press conference other than "sorry, what I am trying to do isn't working and I resign." that would be OK with most of the fan base?

The party that Al Gore lost for (and he did lose) is as much in support of this sham as the party that beat him.....and it was 8 years ago. If the dems could find a real candidate somewhere in that party they could've beat W last election. I work in higher education. Megan, you are completely wrong. The players are too getting paid!! I think most of us are aware of the worlds tragedies. We do this for fun, entertainment, and relief from the real world. Many of us don't live in NE anymore, and for me, much of it has to do woth the conservative mindset and voting habits but that doesn't mean I have any respect for what you just did. Condescending, venomous, just plain poor. Bill Callahan was elected coach even though Bo Pellini won the popular vote. BTW- since you seem so wrapped up in politics and fancy book learnin', we don't elect presidents by popular vote, never have. Its called the electoral college. Wow, he would be a sweet O-line coach!! I think there can be a balance between the NFL pipeline/ coaching and the Husker college ball tradition. Former Huskers with pro careers would be great for recruiting and tradition. The one thing missing- can he actually coach?

Rome did a segment on it yesterday too. He kept talking about how he was made an honorary citizen by the Gov when he did a tour stop. He loves Bug-aha and wants the corn to be good again. What is happening to our football teamis killing him. That Callahan is the problem not the answer. That we are looking up at mediocrity right now. His last words were something like "Whats happening right now is not OK. You better fix it."- referring to Husker nation demanding changes and....... POOF PD is gone and TO is in!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Not that I dislike Pelini (I hoped that he would be the coach when Solich was fired), but I don't exactly think he has much in the way of "Husker Family" credentials. Pellini wasn't here long but he was well liked when he was and the players really rallied around him. They felt he was part of the family. I don't think the next coaches need to be exclusivley former husker players/ coaches. But I do think "he understood" what it meant to be a Husker when he was here. He has ties to the program, the pedigree, etc. Also, I think he is a Defense minded coach so I bet he'd at least be open to the idea of working with Watson. I know a few peeps on this board hate Pellini. They even say he tried to destroy Husker nation. I've asked them to elaborate but they never do.

Didn't Perlman say that the decision to ax Pud was made last week? I bet most of the speculation is true. Much of this stuff is in place and just hasn't been announced- details are being ironed out. I really think this decision has been more carefully planned then it looks right now. TO will be the next AD, even if just interim. Pellini being flown to NU? Thats hard to get my head around but I bet he's been contacted about the job.
