  1. are you serious? just a guess...hope he can stay at around 250-260lbs. range and stay at DE ...if you look at some of the redshirt freshmens that came in you can see how much weight they already put on...josh william came in at 217lbs. and we're not even done with the season yet and he's already at around 240lbs..alonzo whaley came in at 213lbs. and he's now close to 230lbs. pierre allen came to nu at 225lbs and he's now at 265lbs..with a year in the nu weight room you can bet ankrah will put on some weight , it's bound to happen...the question here is how much and how fast he puts on the weight...if he's not careful he can eat his way into a DT...my guess is if he gets up around the 280lbs. range pelini will put him at DT...the reason? pelini wants his DEs fast off that edge and if ankrah gets up around 280-285lbs range he might lose a step or two...very few players can put that much weight on without losing some speed...like i said though, it's just my guess
  2. will probably end up at dt...he's already around 250lbs..you can bet that he'll more than likely put on 25-30 pounds at nu...
  3. no way northwestern stays with mizzou...seen northwestern play several times....even if mizzou starts slow in the end it will still be a blow out...texas will blow out osu...terelle pryor will be running for his life against that fast texas defense and just don't see osu stopping texas...oklahoma st vs oregon should be pretty good but i still give the edge to osu because of their defense...kansas takes down minnesota...toss up games? nu, ou , tt,
  4. we do have a lot of work to do as far as closing the gap with ou and ut..agreed...not every player that we sign will be a 4star or 5star...9 outta 10 times we'll lose type of players to ou or texas..the key here is finding the type of players to fit your system...speed is king and there's plenty of players out there that might not be a 5star but is fast and athlethic...you can teach technique but you can't teach speed...look at tom osborne's championship year (s) recruiting classes...they weren't rated that high but the players that he recruited were very athlethic and have the ability to play a different position if need be..i'd take a 3 star fast player over a 5 star slow player anyday...you can tell pelini is going after speed
  5. calm down man!!!....not trying to start an argument but you sound an a-hole that would....
  6. Kick it outta the friggin' end zone! that's the problem...kunali hasn't even been close to kickin' it outta the end zone...i remember when he first got here he was kicking everything out of the end zone..don't know what has happened since..there were times where the ball was getting only to the ten yard line..then we still gotta worry about the punt return
  7. for nu it wouldn't be a good thing...nebraska isn't exactly talent rich or very populated...that is why everyone in neb. roots for nu..it unifies us..it would be devastating to have the state divided on who to root for...now for a school like ucla or usc(just an example) this is great...
  8. i really do think the special team is gonna have a big impact on this game( in favor of clemson)...we have shown over and over again (especially against a fast team) the tendency to give the long run on kr....
  9. just curious what you guys think...what if clemson had joe ganz for a qb( running the same type of offense as he did at nu)...how do you guys think clemson would do?...i mean , clemson is loaded with talent at the skill position( on offense)...just a funny thought
  10. i'm all for putting the best players on the field but at the qb position it takes much more than just athletism...i think the problem for most 1st qb is the decision making and the adjustment to the speed of the college game...if your frestmen qb is truly heads and shoulders above everyone else then by all means play the kid
  11. this is a big concern , looking at what we've givin' up on special team...against a faster team(OU) our special team players looked like they're running in sand ...if you think the guys from ou were fast wait 'til you see spiller and ford...these guys are fast!!...hate to say it but i think nu gives up at least one big play on KR or PR...best thing to do is to kick it away or out of the end zone but the problem is that kunali have been REALLY sucking lately...there were numerous times where the ball wasn't even makin' it to the five yard line on kickoff....don't know if he's hurt or what but c'mon man!!!
  12. welcome aboard.....good to hear from all you tigers fan...looks like you guys are headed in the right direction...good luck in the future....should be a good game!!!!
  13. arm strenght is good but if you don't have the touch then forget it...anybody ever try watching that qb from nutter- dame play?....kid's got a cannon for an arm but can only throw a laser beam type ball...needless to say he sucked...gets alot of balls tipped or picked off
  14. with so many good qb in the b12 joe ganz usually get's overlooked...i think this is an advantage for us especially playing teams outside the conference...when given time ganz can and will tear you a new one...nationally, i don't think people realize how good ganz is...sometime it's better to be under the radar
  15. man, with middleton and gomes we're getting some tall corners...both listed at 6-1 and looks to be athletic....don't care too much about ranking as long as they're fast and athletic...can teach technique not speed
  16. i like how straight forward bo was with him...chris, do you want somebody that's gonna tell you the truth or do you want someone that's gonna tell you what you want to hear only to find out it was a lie when you get to campus?...
  17. why in the world would jim tressel go anywhere?....osu's not gonna fire him and i don't think he'll go to the nfl...guy's got it made
  18. very athletic and fast on both sides....very good matchup for nu...if they can get some production from the qb they can be very dangerous...all kinds of speed from the rb and wr spot...spiller and jacobi ford are two of the fastest guys in all of college football....if there's one thing that has hurt nu it's giving up big plays...on defense they are very athletic also...if there's one thing you cannot do against a fast defense it's be predictable...nu will have to use alot of miss direction plays to slow them down
  19. not sure about their purple uni but their orange ones looks really nice though....love their helmets too..
  20. get on the bus or you're gonna miss it....sounds like he's holding out for an offer from someone but he's gotta realize we might not have a spot for him if he waits too long..that's just the way it works...he's gotta look out for him and we gots look out for ourself
  21. all the smack talk aside...offensively nu have to start out fast...that means getting joe ganz in rythm throwing the ball early...we cannot become predictable especially in the red zone like in the cu game...clemson has a pretty good defense...they're fast and athletic..defensively nu must prevent big plays...clemson has speed...spiller is a burner....i think clemson's gonna try to get him the ball in space..if we can limit the numbers of big plays and make clemson drive the lenght of the field then we'll be ok
  22. hope they play some of the younger guys during the bowl game..they don't have to start but give them some meaningful snaps during the game..i like to see them in there when the game is still on the line..this should give them a boost of confidence and continuation into spring ball...guys i'd like to see more : mendoza, c. brooks, n. paul, w. henry, c. guilleyen

    lane kiffin

now that kiffen's the new coach tenn. we'll see if he's as good of a coach as alot of people make him out to be...should be a real test. he's in the sec now where there's great competition...won't be king of the hill like when he was at usc because they had so much more talent then everyone else in the pac ten...superior talents can make an average coach look like a genius( not saying that kiffin's a bad coach)...florida, lsu, auburn, alabama, georgia, etc.., yikes!!...would be interesting to see how he does against more talented teams...if he is able to bring tenn. back then he is truly a great coach...just like to hear what you guys think
