  1. He's mad at the Arkansas coaches because they arent paying attention to his best friend Dakota Mosley. Dyer and Mosley want to go to school together but Mosley is basically being ignored by the UA because the UA has 4 scholarship TE's already and only 18-20 available slots open for the 2010 class. Mosley and Dyer travel everywhere together on visits, and theyre suppost to be in Fayetteville next weekend. I guess if they show up this time or not will speak volumes. If Arkansas wiffs on Dyer it will be a huge huge loss. But, the hogs will be ok reguardless. Arkasnas has four 4 star RBs on the roster (Ronnie Wingo, USC transfer Broderick Green, DeAnthony Curtis and Knile Davis) and they're all young too, either freshmen or sophomores. Dang, that's quite a stable of RBs. Nice problem to have.
  2. It's that damned "smoking" area around your tunnel, I tells ya. Exhibit A:
  3. Uh...0? I WIN! I WIN! I WIN! Cy, you know I have your back, but you need to find a sig pic for ISU players that does not include a fog machine. That's not fog...that's the designated smoking area. Ok, then may I gently suggest ISU remove all field goal posts or other impedimenta from where players exit the smoking area?

  5. I'm resisting the urge to gush about this young man, but DANG I cannot wait to see how he changes the equation. I think his work ethic and guts will elevate everyone around him.
  6. While I agree Asante looked like he was out of position at times last year, some of that was due to another DB blowing their assignment, forcing Larry to come in late and looking like he was out of position. He was out of position a couple times, but on others he was trying to make up for someone else's screwup. Regardless, he WILL be pushed this year and if he doesn't have the mental part down, he will be sitting on the bench. Competition, she is a great ding, mon!
  7. You guys were not ball hawking last year and the year he coached at OU they didn't get any TOs either. Maybe that first year was a BIG anomally? Keep hoping, bro, keep hoping.
  8. So like, since you're famous now and all, can you score me some tics to the VT game?
  9. Supposedly one of the top players in Iowa. Offered shortly after Nebraska's Junior day. ISU fan supposedly, but Iowa and Nebraska are top 2? Oh and moving to 2010 forum. Thanks for moving this, Pete. Kinda sorta looked for it but couldn't find his thread. Bet that "Search" thingy woulda helped.
  10. Anyone seen this guy play? 6'5" and over 270 means a lot of kid to coach up if the other skills are there. Would dearly love to PO Iowa State East by stealing this one. Scout has him listed as a 1*; Rivals has him unrated, but holding offers from ISU, ISU East and Missouri.
  11. Not necessarily, they could have made an example out of him to some degree. Hopefully he will keep his nose clean now and there won't be any other problems. He will have to on diversion. It is a year program that will require him to do community service, and attend substance abuse classes. If he gets in any trouble while on diversion, all the original charges will be reinstated. Yes, I speak from experince about this program. of course my charges were much more serious It doesn't take a year (from someone who went through it) . But, while he's in it, he will have to keep straight. Never went thru diversion, but have investigated many who have. The length of the diversion program depends on the severity of the offense. So you are both right.
  12. From the OWH (Omaha.com): http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=3918...;u_sid=10593466 Published Monday March 23, 2009 Husker football: Charges against Ben Cotton are dismissed BY JON NYATAWA WORLD-HERALD BUREAU LINCOLN - The Lancaster County Attorney's Office has dismissed the charges against Ben Cotton, a Nebraska tight end who was cited for his alleged involvement in a February dispute. Cotton, the son of NU assistant coach Barney Cotton, was charged March 13 with minor consumption and disturbing the peace. But the case was dismissed by a county prosecutor last week. On Feb. 28, UNL campus police cited Cotton for minor consumption, disturbing the peace and trespassing after responding to a quarrel inside Smith Hall. Cotton, an Ames High School standout, was listed as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Iowa by rivals.com and scout.com, but he redshirted in his first season with the Huskers. My guess is that he was offered diversion, which results in charges being dropped in consideration of successful completion of the diversion program. Of course, they also might have just dropped the charges unconditionally due lack of evidence. Either way.......Ben, keep your nose clean, avoid the hoochie koochie joints, avoid fast women and otherwise do not act like a typical college kid.
  13. Vintage Cy. I can honestly say that whenever I see a post form you or TuffTiger I immediately go to those posts. One modest amendment to you excellent post. Columbia already IS a hole.
  14. Good for you, 'skers. I'm 54 and weight-train and run (a little). Thank God for Advil.
  15. My feeling is that Bo will not try to run up the score, because his boss might not like it. HOWEVER, that does not mean that the score may not be run up anyway, because TO never tried to run it up on out-manned opponents, but the score was ugly many times regardless. If Bo has his second and third string it and Mr. Burns can't keep the score down, so be it. No foul on Bo, and maybe Martinez gets some snaps at QB. Win-win......unless you're Mr. Burns.
  16. Provocative stuff, Hawk. 50 years means its anyone's guess, but it's fun to speculate. I would imagine that in 50 years the NCAA will be finishing its investigation of USC.
  17. Given how Bo and Snyder interacted (ok, mostly Bo) in 03, it could be interesting to see how it plays out in 09 when both meet as HC. One would assume Bo will downplay any revenge talk. However, given how both teams and both programs stack up now, what will happen when NU has the game in hand early on?
  18. Do you call them the 'clones' because they look just like USC? It's CYCLONES...not Clones you homicidal desert plant. Only a true fan can call them Clones...just like I'm sure true Husker fans wouldn't want people running around referring to them as the Husks...That would be rude. But...because you are from the south and manners are no doubt foreign to you, I will let this slight pass. For the rest of you...it's Cyclones...so named because we will Rock You Like A Hurricane (which is actually just a Cyclone but with a lot more hot air...and better recruits) You will all quiver in fear much like India and Ceylon after a devasting visit from this year's storm hits... Saints preserve us, this is good stuff!
  19. Agreed, and he's opportunistic. Some of his tackles for loss were the result of blown assignments on the O line. But not every LB has the savvy to take advantage of those. True, it was a highlight reel but still, I like his nose of the ball. Oh, and he's a much better LB than a TE.
  20. So what are you saying? That Montana, Clausen, Lucky, and Scott are scrubs? Hey ACE did you read what I wrote? I'm saying they're stats are over rated - they don't play anyone tough out here and refuse when offered. Kind of a snarky response, doncha think?
  21. Reed moving to TE is an unmistakable sign that the coaches feel good about the kids at LB. Otherwise I do not see how you move a player like Reed out of there.
  22. OT: one small difference, the prevailing interest rate is now near 0; in the early 80s, it was in something like the teens. So now no one will give you a loan, and then you couldn't get a loan because it was too expensive. OTOH I'm pretty sure that that football is recession proof, so I think you are out of luck, Cy. I just refinanced my house at 4.5% and saved myself a couple hundred a month on the payment...obviously there are still some stupid bankers out there. Funny thing was...even after a flood and some major rebuilding that isn't done yet, the appraiser still wrote it up as worth about 1/5 more than I paid for it 10 years ago...I'm pretty sure that's so they can raise the taxes on me. I'm hoping for another flood this year. Maybe I'll be able to convince them that it washed away my brand new Mercedes....along with all the paperwork...that I just bought two hours before. That didn't work last time ROLF! If only all the posters from other teams were like Cy......
  23. sorry, i don't know you but you've got to be joking right? Cy's good ppl. It's generally considered bad form to try to pin him down on predictions of ISU's chances. We try to to be better hosts than that.
  24. Ricky Henry Stein/Crick/Moore (we need this interior D position to be solid so teams will be forced to dble team someone other than Suh. Ty Stein. did yeoman's duty in that regard) Zac Lee/Spano. There is absolutely no reason not to r/s Cody as long as Lee and Spano are good to go. If one of them goes down, THEN consider taking off his shirt. Taylor Martinez, anyone? Whoever is center. Whoever is long-snapper.
  25. I'm curious to what extent FSU's smack-down by the NCAA will affect their ability to pull in the better recruits? Off-topic.......I have no beef with FSU getting hammered, but USC continues to get a pass? Oh, yeah.......nm.
