They are already contradicting themselves by allowing beer sponsors to put advertisements on during their games. Dang it Bill, never thought of that. unfortunately I don't think they have a say about that, the people who purchased the rights to the game then sell advertisements to anyone willing to help bring some of that money back. Have to agree though, you do have a valid point.

Living in Vegas, I can easily say no I have not. If I don't think they will win I simply don't bet, but I will never bet against them.

A ) I agree with this in concept for sure. B ) The problem with this whole thread is we do not know what really happened in either case. lots of rumors. I played college athletics, albeit Basketball, but I can tell you that any group of guys have their buddies and people they do not like, so even rumors from guys "on the team" can be prety darn useless if you do not know who is in with who. Due to the size of a football team, I would imagine it is worse about having different groups of friends within the team. I will just say this thread is ultimately pointless, because the quality of information we are going to get will not let us understand things in an unbiased way to really speak intelligently about the issue with out being unfair to someone, or everyone, involved. Going to have to agree with this as well. As it stands we are speculating and that is bad. Unless it's proven or information given, we really shouldn't just blindly comment about that which we don't know.

I thought it was 85' and it's at 90'. They are saying that it would cost 2 million if the league says he has to move it. That thing is just too big and it does distract fans. I think Jones did this simply because he could, he likes to out do everyone else. I think it's gaudy myself and i'm also a Cowboys fan. He really needs to think about things like this before doing it.

no worries AR, just wanted to bring it to your attention. I don't want his uncle to see that kind of thing in his nephews page and think that the coaches are doing something wrong, you know that kind of thing will be brought up during family gatherings, how couldn't it if someone is looking out for their family members. Appreciate the response though.

I'm starting to see a lot of people going off on tangents over on the recruits actual threads. A bunch of things about how the coaching staff and how bad recruiting is going. I think this is a bad idea because we never know who might be reading the information provided about the kids and the recruiting trail behind them. Take for example the Swigert kid, it went from talking to his uncle about the kid to berating the coaches and the way they recruit, so we know his family member is viewing that thread. We shouldn't have that under those kids profiles in my opinion because that just makes us as fans look like a bunch of bicking fools. Maybe we should have some rules put in that the profiles are for information about the kid and how it's going but under no cicumstances do we discuss other topics in their thread. I also vote that Willie get a mod if possible like OhioPete as they are both always in the threads posting information, street novelist might be another good choice as he posts quite a bit of updates there as well. Just my opinion or .02 if you want.

Need to get you on the recruiting trail Hunter, you seem to have it all figured out. I wonder why those that actually know what is going with recruiting (coaching staff) haven't got you on the staff yet. Back on topic, any news on Mr. Swigert? I don't think he has to have it all figured out to make a legitimate point. We are behind several schools in our own division. There's more than enough time to turn it around in a class with 20 schollies, but a lot of the guys we've offered are on board elsewhere, and almost every day we get news of someone else passing Nebraska over. I hope it gets better, but it isn't looking great right now. My opinion, leave this garbage out of the recruits areas and put it out there under the main recruiting area. This area is for topics related to the recruit and not your opinions regarding the coaches and how they recruit. We do have family members reading this so at least have some common sense here and keep it about the kid in this area, and everything else on the main part of recruiting.

Petrino has a "plan" for his players to attain a master's degree in five years? Bullsh**! To get a master's degree in five years means you would have to take at least 18 credit hours every semester and summer school every year on top of that. There is no way the average student, let alone a football player, could maintain that type of pace academically. P.S. I know it can be done...but out of 100 students that would attempt this...maybe five would make it. Going to have to agree with Jen here. I took 5.5 years to get my masters and only because I actually took 1 less summber session than she mentions above. I also have to admit that it is a b!tch and with sports it is damn near impossible. Every hour of the day is planned and football has quite a few more practices than we did. Petrino is a car salesman and full of feces.

Ahhh yes, the whiney Missou fan from ESPN boards. He literally came crying to the Husker part of the board about our fans always going to the Tigers board. At that point I simply asked him why he thought it was ok for him to come over to our board every single day and post his garbage but when we did it it was bad. He then cried about how he would stop coming over to our board if we stopped going to theirs. This guy is a giant douchenozzle, not to mention extremely pathetic.

Sounds like this kid has a head on his shoulders. He sounds like the type of kid that could make a program stand out with what seems to be hard work and plenty of ambition. After reading this article, this guy definitely needs to be N!

Bass, As said prior to me, thanks for the information. Please don't feel like you have to offer the info though as i'm sure it's probably spoken a bit in confidence. You can let Bobby know that we here at Huskerboard support whatever decision he makes as long as it's Nebraska haha just kidding my friend. Let him know we speak highly of him and we've accepted his uncle into our fold. Either way being recruited to play a div 1 sport is a fun time and stressful at the same time. He needs to choose whatever school he feels the most comfortable with, he will spend the next 4-5 years with these players and coaches(possibly of course, never know anymore). If he wants a family atmosphere UNL is the place to be(even if I went to Creighton).

I thought it seemed too soon. I've had 2 repairs and the first one took a year to recover from, though i'm guessing it's different in soccer, always cutting and planting on the foot to kick. The second one was 6 months and didn't feel good until about month 8 to play. 4 Months is far too soon, but I have to give it to him, he worked his butt off to get on the field, shows a lot of heart. This is unfortunate for the kid, get well soon and GBR.
