  1. It's what we will certainly strive for. See the future, be the future.
  2. The open arms welcome we Huskers are receiving is priceless. There are so many "welcome to the Big 10" threads that I can't respond to them all, so I'll just do it here: I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to stop by to talk with us and welcome us into your family. After all the venom being spewed by other Big 12 fans right about now, your support and encouragement is really so refreshing, and making me look even more forward to watching our student athletes compete in your conference, and becoming a proud member of a really great conference and family! I'm so pumped, and you great Big 10 fans are the biggest reason!
  3. I'm pretty sure NU would be under contract to display the B12 logo... so it would have to be something where tv wouldn't pick up on it, but it would be talked about for sure.
  4. It's a big deal politically. And around here politics=funding. And as for the Big 10, well, here's how the Austin paper ended its editorial on the subject today: http://www.statesman.com/opinion/money-talks-in-college-sports-its-telling-ut-742552.html From the posted article - I see this statement which seems like people talking out of both sides of their mouths: If the remaining parties wish to stay together, then DO SO! WTH!! I'm so confused as to why one or two schools leaving is the ultimate downfall of 10 others, especially when I see statements like that... all the while, courting other conferences.
  5. Is there a school in the whole bunch being mentioned that *does* fit in, culturally? I just don't see it... AT ALL.
  6. I agree with the badger - the series with Iowa seems a more likely fit to blossom into an annual rivalry. But, save for a couple schools, I see all of these match-ups as potentially being great ones without necessarily becoming true rivalries. Everyone is going to want to "school" the new kid.
  7. Or better yet - have the marching band do a B10 formation at half time.
  8. You first sentence is EXACTLY what I have been thinking. A good commish would look out for the conference and get the best darned TV contract available worked out. I don't blame UT for wanting to create their own TV revenue stream, and I don't even blame them for not wanting to share (NU would have done the same, IMO). You look at the Big 10 network, look at the billions of ESPN/CBS dollars the SEC was getting, as well as the Irish on NBC. And then look at the Big 12 and the Pac 10 tv deals ... what a load of crap. Only, it's a bigger deal in the Big 12 than Pac-10 for what I hope are obvious reasons. One more thing to say, "Beebe, you're FIRED!" -- Donald Trump style.
  9. I'm just laughing at the 14 votes Maine put forth. Clicking must be more tedious the more north you go in the US.
  10. NU to the B10 - fits well CU to Pac-10 - fits well Big 12 South (minus a team or two) to Pac-10? I just can't see anyone from the soon to be defunct B12 South being really comfortable there. Just my opinion, of course. What, specifically, do they have in common to make this a good marriage? EDIT: Thanks for moving this Mods, I thought this forum is where I placed it.
  11. right now all I am seeing is 439, but when games are being played, there are a ton more that show up somewhere.
  12. This is a completely different animal - PSU was an independent prior to joining the Big 10. By the way, I spoke to my boss about this very topic and her opinion about joining the B10 was nothing but favorable.
  13. Just my opinion here, they have a strange culture; but as a whole they are good people. They are not anything like UT. I don't recall ever having any kind of beef between Aggie and Husker, though I am sure such incidents exist.
  14. PSU against NU in volleyball year in and year out. Awesome! That is all.
  15. How about this: Got their azzes handed to them because NU was outplayed in every facet of the game. Give TT credit for capitalizing on every mistake NU made. The Iowa State game on the other hand ...
  16. Cool - the trash talk already starting! Hot diggety! I live in Penn State country and told my current/former bosses that we have a whole year to fine tune our deliveries.
  17. Maybe someone can help me out. A number of years I saw a movie on tv, I'm guessing it was from the 70's. It had individual stories to it. In one part was that there was a "bottomless pit" in the woods and people would disappear into it. There'd always be evil noises coming from it, and when someone was lowered into it with a rope, the person had seen such evil that he went crazy. Another part was a mother putting a curse on some neighborhood boys for treating her son poorly. Anyone? Anyone? That hole of evil scared the daylights out of me and my mother. My dad was out of town at the time, and my mother was so scared she begged me to sleep in her bed that night.
  18. Just don't make me watch the Huskers playing at Boise on that gawdawful turf, and I'll be ok with a future meeting with them.
  19. I've been burned badly getting all excited about two or three games ahead, expecting things to go a certain way, and then kahpow, my fan ego got knocked down a peg or two. Hence, I do it no more. I'm all about the KSU game right now. How can anyone look past KSU after the Iowa State game? How can anyone look past KSU knowing that it's a game that entitles the winner to get an extra pseudo-bowl game and a chance to play spoiler? The has demonstrated that it can win or lose any game if they are focused, or lacking focus.
  20. Post of the year! Larry, will you marry me?
  21. I prefer Potts, but I think he may have lost his job. I like the D's chances better against statues, not so much against more or less mobile QB's.
  22. The usual prediction until I win: Big Red - 31 Opponent - 16 Passing 280 Rushing 190
