  1. It's about time, CU! That score right out of the gate could be huge.
  2. But, how does the box score show what really happened? I'm looking at it on ESPN now and wondering how a D1A team holds a D1AA team to 212 yards while getting over 400; held them to 13 1st downs, four 3rd down conversions, +1 in to margin, and still have a score of 21-17 at home with a coach who's been around the block a few (hundred) times? I had hoped for, and expected, better of a Snyder team.
  3. BRI - I *think* what jayhawk is referring to is something else, KU-related, that was recently posted elsewhere on the internet.
  4. There's still hope for you, though. There's an entire half to go, and CU still has all the starters at their disposal. OU fans, on the other hand, are entitled to a meltdown.
  5. No, no they wouldn't. There wouldn't be anyone left since they'd have already jumped off the local bridge or cliff of choice.
  6. Wake the hell up, Buffs, there's a game going on in your stadium!
  7. well, that's strange, looks like it still has zero replies after I typed that. Maybe the board doesn't count the posts that have "Go Buffs" in the text?
  8. Oh, what the heck. Go Buffs!
  9. The recipe was in place even before the game, though. That's what happens when you have to replace most of your O-line, lose your talented (and a good blocking) TE before the opener and play a good team like BYU away from home. Before Bradford went out with his injury, they weren't exactly an offensive juggernaut. I'm certainly not going to celebrate their loss, though.
  10. Is Missou that good, or Illinois that bad? Both? Illinois just shot themselves so many times and Missou didn't. Hat's off to Gabbert for his poise in his first start against what I thought would be a better opponent.
  11. I wasn't trying to taunt, I just thought it was a funny picture. It's certainly not the most incriminating picture of KU players I've seen this year. Besides, fro daddy likes it. For what it's worth, it's only staying until I find something else that suits my fancy.
  12. I was surprised the blackshirts gave up so many rushing yards and get no sacks. I was also surprised that Pelini didn't get himself a personal foul arguing about some of the BS calls (like the one Eric Martin got tagged with). And pleasantly surprised with the play of freshmen and RS freshmen. For the most part, they all played well and now have some things to build off of.
  13. They'll definitely have to play better for a blackshirt to be awarded. I did like how they subbed in some fresh faces to get them some time in a real game, though, and I think that disrupted some of the continuity quite a bit. Perfect time to do that, IMO.
  14. And they played well enough to reflect in the score. I did a double-take on the score! I was listening to a Huskers podcast interview with Steele several weeks ago and he mentioned Ark St. will be the toughest of the 3 Sunbelt conference teams. He was spot on about FAU using the non-conference games mostly to get experience for backups. I know Ark State played a total cream puff, but that score is pretty amazing no matter who's playing who.
  15. Exactly right. I will admit I've fallen into this trap of judging a whole season based on everyone's first game in previous years as well, but teams that struggle in week 1 many times turn out better than expected. If teams supposedly show the most improvement between game 1 and game 2, this could be a whole new discussion by this time next week. Certainly by the time conference play starts, we'll have a much better picture of the teams' capabilities.
  16. That's kind of why I am trying to wait until the end of the season, then get it for 1 month. I'm far from a cheap skate, but I'm skeptical that it will be worth it, even being under $10. I was an NSide member for a brief time last year and was less than impressed with the football offerings. Plus the site didn't work very smoothly at that point. I think it's their video host site, nmathletics, not Huskers.com, though. I pretty much vowed not to go back, but if they're going to actually have some past games online, I'll give it a try for $10 after I verify which ones are going to be there.
  17. it was a very good interview. Pelini must like Rome. He came accross very well. He pushed Bo on the progress and Bo said he was playing for a Championship THIS year! He also said he was very high on his defense and his qbLee and can not wait to see his Blackshirts put it on the field. He said this year is better than last as the players understand the attitude and work ethic he demmands. I found it very encoraging and would rate it as a good opportunity to focus back on the real Nebraka with TO and all the old ethics and fan support. I predict the media will warm up to Bo and his version of the Huskers as we beat people and show the practice efforts and walk on traditions are for real. There really was no talk about Suh. Bo explained how important he felt it was to embrace the old Nebraska way and how he was helped to keep that and get feedback from TO on things that needed to be done the old way!! There was also a very good question on the SEC versus the Big 12. Bo seemed to imply that there was an equality at this time. Bo stood up for the Big 12 on that question! Great synopsis. And did you notice how he conveniently left off which championship? During a player interview on the first day of fall camp, one of the guys said something like that, too. Someone questioned the player on what he meant by the word "championships", and the player reiterated, CHAMPIONSHIPS, several times.
  18. I have it up on Sirius right now. Woot!
  19. This is darned near word for word what my response was about to be! You're such an answer thief.
  20. What channel is it on sirius, my dad has XM radio, but for the next two weeks he gets a trial of Sirius as well and I was hoping I could get it this weekend. I believe Sirius has it listed as channel 121 for this weekend's game. The schedule changes weekly of course.
  21. Sack for a big loss. We'll be on defense first, of course.
  22. I want to see what Marlowe can do on returns. I'm also going to be curious how Henery is going to handle both roles now, although hopefully in this first game we will only see him kicking extra points.
  23. This is probably off topic, but does anyone think that the reason Hawkins was successful at Boise wasn't actually because of Hawkins? As for them being in the Title Game, I would have no problem with it, but the voters will, unfortunately.
  24. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Just sit back and enjoy the ride!
