  1. If I'm not mistaken, his offer to play at Michigan was redacted. It was in either a OWH or LJS article.
  2. Must be nice living in Southern Cal not having sh*t to do.
  3. How about Green Lantern? Green Acres? Greenback? This post was in no way an attempt to make this turn into the Rex Burkhead nickname thread. haha Green Lantern = Win The Maudfather gets an internet high five. We need an internet high five smiley. :highfive agreed.
  4. If not better than Joe. We'll have to wait and see for sure.
  5. I'm just not sure I understand his intentions. I mean, unless he goes to a school that is really hurtin' for any sort of QB, then he his going to be at best a second string guy. Most D1 schools have their QB set up for next year and have guys in place to take their current starters job when the time comes. Seems to me like he would be better off stickin with b-ball..but tha'ts just my opinion. And with him being gone so long, I don't see how he could come here and be a viable back up considering the size of our playbook and the talent behind Zac Lee. It'd be nice, because then Green would be guaranteed a redshirt, but I'm still not sure I understand what this guy is trying to get at
  6. The way I look at the secondary is this: The secondary was abysmal in 2007. They got better and were only bad at the beginning of 2008. They got better over the season and were only below average by the Gator Bowl. They've gotten better and were average for the spring game. (Plus the defense was in the base 4-3 all game even when the offense had 3+ receivers.) So if you're looking for a dominant defense, then the secondary is indeed very troubling. But if you're looking for improvement, then there were some positive signs. To add to that, a secondary can only be good if a d-line is talented. Our d-line was average at the beginning of 2008, but when Suh stepped up the whole line stepped up, and our secondary started to look better because they were pressuring the quarterback more effectively.
  7. LINK Delivered. Just click on Football Highlights for April 18th.
  8. I don't think she is saying that, per say. I think she is simply getting at the fact that just because we only have 3 commits and we might be "losing some recruiting battles", it doesn't mean all hope is lost and Nebraska should just quit football forever. Like she said, it's a process. Half of these kids haven't even gotten a chance to visit Nebraska and the facilities and talk to coaches face to face. Give it time, people. All that matters is who signs in February. If this recruiting circus really irks many of you this much, I say quit following it and just wait till signing day to see who we recruited.
  9. Good point...I think. OP, I'd kind of like to know where your seats were at. Students got tickets in the South and East stadium, so if you were over there that is technically where they should have been sitting. If that wasn't where you were, however, I'm sorry. Some people can be d*cks.

  11. Getting it validated means you have to pay the difference between student ticket value and actual ticket value, so in addition to paying the student, you'll be paying the rest of the normal ticket price to the athletic department. Yes, but I'm referring to the fact that students don't usually ask outrageous prices for the tickets. Many sell them for the $21 student value or just over, and then you pay the validation fee to make them the normal ticket price. However, buying tickets from season ticket holders who are selling them can often be very pricy. For example, if a student sells his ticket to you for $21 and then you pay the validation price, it will be around $60 spent. However, many non-students sell their tickets for maybe $100 or more. Now, that practice may not be entirely legal, but that's how it has been in my experience.
  12. Taylor Martinez, when he gets here in the fall, will start out at QB. Bo said so in his post spring game press conference. And Cody Green will absolutely redshirt. It would take a severe rash of injuries to pull him out of a redshirt year.
  13. Just check Craig's List. One of the best ways to get tickets is to find a student ticket, because usually they are cheap (unless it's a big game) and all you have to do is pay the student and then get it validated. Usually, it can be much cheaper than other tickets.
  14. Yeah, the students all got tickets this year if they requested one (myself included). It's unfortunate that you came across some idiots students.
  15. I wonder if there is going to be a Bo Pelini Show about it? I'm sure it was on today (Sunday) because I'm pretty sure there was one after last years' spring game. Also, I bet Big Red Wrap Up will have extensive game highlights on Tuesday nights.
  16. Jesus. Isn't there another thread about the 1996 Arizona St. win vs. Nebraska being on t.v.? I know losses were few and far between in the 90's but come on, nobody wants to see this loss horse sh*t
  17. It's ok guys, just go grab your 1995 national championship season dvd and watch that instead.
  18. I'm not sure it's fair to really speculate whether or not there is a weakness, because the guys who were playing together may not even be starters next fall. The defense has to build some chemistry working together before they can really be a great defense. From what I saw on Saturday, however, I would say that the secondary is our weak spot (like it has been the past two years). Once we get all our starters on the same d-line and they can start causing problems, our secondary won't look so lost. Offensively, we still don't have that explosive aspect to our offense. I saw some statistic from last year that said we had somewhere between 10-15 plays that went for more than 40 yards. When you are busting out 60-70 offensive plays a game, only 10-15 of those being 40+ yards is pretty lackluster. Hopefully with better run blocking, Paul back, and Helu at full speed, we will have that explosive threat. Who knows, maybe one of our other generally unproven receivers might be that big time threat.
  19. Just to expand on that, I have heard reports from the media (i.e. LJS and OWH) that there has been discussion on Dillard not meeting the coaches' standards as far as preparation and work ethic go. From the way they have been discussing it, it appears Dillard didn't push himself hard during winter conditioning and didn't work as hard as he should have been during spring ball.
  20. One thing we should be happy about right here: despite Castille not getting a lot of reps, he still didn't fumble!
  21. I just read that. Very interesting article. One thing I think this kid needs to realize is that unless he goes to a school that is in absolute desperate need of a quarterback (which is very unlikely, considering even Michigan has decided not to take him), he is probably at best going to be a back up. He'd be great for us as a short term guy, but he really shouldn't expect great QB playing chances at any major D1 school.
  22. Me too! OWH has first half highlights up, but I absolutely hate the camera angles they give. I hate endzone camera shots for ALL THE HIGHTLIGHTS
