  1. You have no idea how great I have felt about beating Josh Freeman every year he was a starter. The best part is that two of our wins were complete and total domination of KSU. Just think, if he had committed to NU he may have been in Joe Ganz's place this year, and would have been a Husker legend in the first rebuilding year of Bo Pelini. Instead, he had dismal seasons at KSU and will be drafted late because he had a very unsuccessful career at KSU.
  2. Hopefully you aren't the last to have a nightmare about Suh.
  3. Like I've said...being at this game could not have been better for excitement/drama purposes, but was very frustrating watching the Husker give Clemson all their points off of turnovers. Overall, would not trade it for anything, as it made an awesome trip! All that matters is the final score, and getting that W. Seems like we are getting back to traditional Nebraska! Every game gives us high blood pressure!
  4. I had the pleasure of sitting through a lecture from T.O. during one of my business classes in Lincoln last semester. He talked about how he constantly lost recruits because they were turned off by the idea of having to earn playing time. Seems like making players earn playing time, instead of guaranteeing it, worked out pretty well for T.O. Wouldn't you all agree?
  5. We didn't have the personnel this year to have a run oriented offense, or an offense that could pound the interior of a defense. We were very rarely successful with any sort of power running formations this year, and most of our rush yardage came out of shotgun. We used shotgun to run the ball and base formations to pass it. It all depends on recruiting with Bo. The offense we run now is admittedly something he doesn't want to continue to have. I'm sure you will be satisfied with our offense in coming years once the defense gets completely fixed.
  6. lol I love you. I'm sick of Missouri-KU playing for the North, and since I despise MU I really hope that it's KU-NU for the North.
  7. Arguably one of the funniest/coolest things I've ever seen.
  8. One thing that hasn't been talked about a lot, but mentioned, is our TE strength. We will absolutely have to have our TE's step up next year. But they still haven't proved to be very good running blockers, which can be seen when we run our power formations. I think our TE's need to step up, get better at blocking, and really add some fire power to the offense like #18 (too lazy to look up his name) for OU did this year.
  9. I'm as optimistic as any Husker fan as far as how good the Huskers will be again..but come on.. We are breaking in a new starting quarterback, and the defense isn't going to astound the nation next year, we still have some growing to do defensively. We have no huge play-makers on offense outside of our running backs. I would love to see the Huskers go to the Fiesta Bowl, but I just don't see it happening. I liked what he was saying until he got to Notre Dame winning 9 games and going to a BCS bowl. That's why I kind of tuned out.
  10. LOL. One good showing against a down Hawaii teams catapults Notre Dame to 18? Did they forget that this is the team that lost to one of the worst teams in college football, Syracuse?
  11. Frazier any day. Tebow is a better passer no question, but Tommy had the ability to make a lot of plays with his legs and his quickness. No slight on Tebow, but he's not a good runner. Tebow is the size of a damn full back.
  12. Cody Green and Spano ran option and zone reads in HS. The Harvin's and Demps are not NFL RBs or WRs, they are tweeners. Florida runs a veer offense from the gun. They have 2 tall outside WRs and a TE which are the main receiving threats. They have to very fast HBs or slot WRs, which they play one in the slot and the other in the backfield. They sub one back with a traditional FB for more blocking or put both in the slots and run an empty set. They run inside zone, traps, counter sweeps and isos and even powers along with the options and shuffle passes to TEs, basic WR bubble and tunnel screens, PAs and boots off zone read and other base plays and basic spread 3 and 5 step pass plays. The offense is VERY simple and you could run it. Make Castille the main back, put Helu or Gilleyen/Paul in other slot and the tall WR like Holt out wide, with a TE and with Lee, Spano or Green you can run this offense! I see your point but you didn't once answer or bring up one of the biggest parts to all of this..the O-line. You need an extremely powerful o-line to run any sort of offense, especially the one Florida runs.
  13. Potter is the only player that got invited to the combine....
  14. Could this team do it? No. Could Nebraska do it eventually? Yes. Florida obviously has way more talent than we do, and they have a bruiser for a quarterback. They run that style of offense because of how Tebow is. If you look at their previous championship (before 2009), they were a bit more of a spread pass attack and less option running. Tebow packs quite a punch and they revamped the offense to fit him.
  15. I don't think Ganz is really a strong NFL QB prospect, just like Chase Daniels isn't and Todd Reesing won't be either. Ganz doesn't really have the height that the NFL generally wants, and he doesn't a lot of arm strength. "Man I see him zip balls into receivers like lightning he has a lot of arm strength!" Anybody can zip a ball 15 yards, but the NFL likes to see a guy who can chuck the ball waaay down field and have the receiver come up with it. I think Slauson, Swifty, Lucky, Murtha, Steinkuhler, and even Pederson have chances of going somewhere.
  16. Yeah, the NFL definitely isn't as interesting to watch. It is a business, after all. I would say everybody here could help cheer on the Vikings but nope, they bottomed out again.
  17. Yeah, after watching Big Red Wrap Up and hearing Slauson praise Baker, I'm confident Baker will see playing time this upcoming fall.
  18. Here's who I want as team captains, any of these guys would be nice. Castille QB Niles Paul (hoping he will have a breakout season next year) Suh Dillard Turner
  19. Our linebacking corp would have been much better this year but injuries sidelined Dillard for practically the last half of the season and Glenn was suspended for the team for reasons unbeknown to us. Dillard just needs to keep his butt healthy and be a strong rock for our defense
  20. what is this, think business? Stupid mistype on my part. We all know they are Gods.
  21. Nebraska would never leave the Big 12. There is so much history with the Big 8 and Big 12 and all the decades of being great that it wouldn't make any sense.
  22. My God, information overload in that first paragraph. Nebraska wins more games when humidity is 5%, the sun is at a 78.6 degree angle, and Pluto is aligned with Mars. << Doesn't make a lot of sense does it? I think, given the season being over, we all can't sit here and think about the "what-ifs" of last season and just pull crap out of anywhere. People are saying Nebraska's unproven players are better than anybody else for a few simple reasons. 1) Bo Pelini and Staff = Gods Among Men 2) TT and MU lose a ridiculous amount of starters. KU is a bit of a stretch, and I think will be the most balanced team next year. 3) I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Bo Pelini is the best defensive mind in the Big 12 right now. If he has the defense playing at the level he wants them to be at next year, or even close, Nebraska will be the best defense in the Big 12. Even Texas's Muschamp couldn't escape a horrific passing defense. Oh yeah, and did I mention all Nebraskans think Bo Pelini and his staff are Gods?
  23. Bo Pelini has the KSU game circled in red after 2003.
  24. Idk about point scores..but here it is in wins vs. losses. FAU - W Ark. St. - W Va Tech. - L LA Lafayette - W MU - L TT - L IA - W BU - W OU - L KU - W KSU - W CU - W
  25. Everything looks much better, and we can only go up from there. The great part is that next year we have a lot of returning defensive starters, and if Suh comes back he will be a great anchor for the defense. Having faced Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas Tech, and Kansas for that matter, they were sure bets to give us difficulties in the passing defense aspect especially for a new coach. Just out of curiosity, does anybody know how we rank against the other Big 12 defenses?
