even though he is sharing more time back there with Lucky and Glenn, he seems to be getting roughed up more this season? i also think he runs better straight ahead and may be getting beat up making too many cut back runs? just speculating here....anyway, nice game for Marlon and Cody, they are showing why we recruited them.... hunter

like Dave H, it sounded like we did have some drop off on the D in the second half, gave up some BIG plays which kind of concerns me, but overall the type of D effort we have come to expect. a better game for Grixby, i will have to admitt, but on the D side of the ball he is still suspect defending against the pass.... hunter

Yea i saw that too, although a lot of folks over there seem to think we got most of the "bad calls". I don't agree. All 14 of their points were helped with some odd call. "Simultaneous recovery"? You gotta be kidding me. the call in the end zone was unprecedented......if they can't figure out who had possession they say they both had it? hell, i guess that is like being a little bit pregnant? biggest dumb-ass call of the season so far......... hunter

nope, i think we will not see a ranking yet.......got to beat Missouri and Oklahoma first........but it is ok, rankings really only matter at the end of the season.......we will really need to earn anything we get this year, only one way to do that, keep winning and silence the dumb-ass critics......... hunter

not that it will matter much, but i fired off an email to ESPN and 'ole Timmy-boy. hell, that article is an embarassment to the company (ESPN).....if my writers were not able to evaluate the BIG 12 any better than that, i would fire their asses! but remember, it does not matter, this team needs to keep winning games, one at a time, stay focused and a bowl bid will take care of itslef, period. ESPN does not get to vote on who goes to bowl games! also now Notre Dame and Penn State now know the feeling NU had when Tech won at the end....it can happen to anyone...... hunter

i think the rotation of players on D this year has showed that balance and fresh legs constantly in the game can really turn up the heat on an offense......i like the plan as long as there is little drop off in talent......i think it is a huge reason for the resurrgance in the D play........IMHO hunter

f##king hillbillies at ESPN! no way in hell KU or KSU or even lowly ISU gets a bowl bid and we don't.......the only way that would happen is if we completely fell apart and that is not going to happen.......we could lose 2 more games, but even at that, think of how intriguing, especially if we continue to improve, this team will be with Cally and co. coaching and all the new talent starting to come into their own and contribute to this (WCO) team, the huge turn around story in one year will give us a leg up and offer a love affair with any bowl committee looking for an interesting team to head up their venue......and the fan following at NU is 2nd to none....we just have to perform well the rest of the season and we are N! hunter

i don't prefer to complain much right now, as we are seeing improvement in most areas, BUT i said all along Grix was not going to match up very well with most wideouts, kid has alot of heart but his lack of size will continue to "serve him up" to taller more athletic receivers......with some of the inbound talent coming to play DB next year, i don't see him starting..... hunter

i don't know that Smith should be suspended or not, but.....why lose your cool over a stupid-ass parking ticket? it just does not make any sense to jeopardise your playing status, right or wrong, over such a simple issue.....our guys got to get smarter about handling things like this......hell, take the ticket and appeal it.......there are lots of ways to handle these simple things that happen in life.... hunter

There is a thin line between showing concern and being critical of every aspect of the game, and Former seems to step over that line over and over again. We all know we have problems with out left tackle and right tackles. We all know we have some problems with our corners like Grixby who keeps getting outplayed, or Bowman who is still learning in the system. Hell, we even have a former RB playing as DB for the first time this year. It's one thing to say "ok he is new to the system and he can't be really faulted yet" and there's another in saying "this guy came in overhyped". Playing the Juco level and playing DIV-A level are night and day. You have stronger, faster lineman, and more experienced coaches in DIV-A then you do in the juco's. Heck, even Jim Tressel struggled adapting from the DIV-AA level to DIV-A level his first year. He went 7-5 his first year, and his second year he began to change his offense around to suit the players and they went on to win a national title that year. Callahan has done the same thing. His gameplan is focused on what talent we have at the moment from option players to WCO players like Zac Taylor, Harrison Beck. Our CURRENT tight ends are the biggest example option players struggling to adapt to the WCO. There's NOTHING Callahan and the offensive staff can do about it at the moment, except buy some time and recruit guys who are fitted into that system. good post nameless, right on the money!

if you didn't see the progress made on both sides of the ball in this game, you weren't watching.....although they lost in the last 12 seconds, this team showed they are getting better and they WILL NOT QUIT! .......we did not witness that last year.........understand that with new players and a new system it takes time.....no one expects you to be satisfied with a loss, but we are seeing vast improvement. if you want instant gratification get a USC banner...... hunter

well, looks like we picked up 3 more JUCO's from FCC.........wondering what this recent trend is all about? that is it seems more JUCO players are coming into major college programs.........i assume it is based on issues which prevents them from being recruited as high school grads? grades, etc. ? thoughts? hunter

for all the bitching and complaining that will undoubtedly come, for all the "he should have done this or he should have done that"........i saw what is the future of our team......this team and it's coaches are destined to become great.......today we experienced the "growing pains' on the way to greatness.....without a doubt the best "team effort" to date.......i am proud of our guys and all the effort given and "never-say-die-attitude"......those who know football recognized the same thing......... hunter

great........sounds like you are into it........i have a trip to SD planned for last week of October......then Kansas, Missouri and Iowa for Nov. and Dec.....mostly pheasants and quail with hopefully a few mallards thrown in...have a good season hunter
