  1. although i watched the game on TV, i did not get a sense of the "B******" effort? how did it go? and by the way, doesn't it look like the D is just having fun out there? these guys are really enjoying the game and their team effort is really obvious......congrats again to Coz for getting it done.......we might get blown off the field down the road against another opponent, but the D and Coz have put the chemistry together and the coaching sure seems to be there too....again cograts to Coz and the D assistants! hunter
  2. we all see thing differently..........but i too now hold out hope for the TT game..... they showed me that if they bring their "A" game next Saturday we just might beat TT's ass! would be the best win of the year......next to beating CU hunter
  3. me too, boy the announcers sucked, didn't they? but the game was great! hunter
  4. be patient, if we win the TT game, THEN we hit the TOP 25! hunter
  5. could be, who knows? may be hard for him to relax and trust his instincts at this level or is he just confused? i know one thing, Tierre is still a work in progress at DB, which is to be expected, and Grixby's lack of size is killing him......2 interference penalities really hurt us, and he never seems to look back for the ball? i know he is coached to watch the receiver and his eyes, but you got to turn and look back sometime for the ball, hell on the one play he just ran into the reciver, he looked completely lost. i just think most of the time he is overmatched, especially against the tall wideouts, although we obviously have no one else to put back there right now... hunter
  6. great, thanks guys, waiting to hear more......... hunter
  7. you are right on target Stuckin......you can bet Ross earned his start in practice several years ago, i can remember when Ross was a virtual unknown, a back up that saw little time on the field....these young guys need to earn it and they will, if they practice hard and improve, they will get their game time, you don't just show up and play, you have to prove it daily in practice........ hunter
  8. i don't know who the recruits were at the ISU game, but they had to be impressed with the fight in the team and the will to find a way to win and hang for double OT. this had to be one of the all time best games at Memorial stadium, anyone who got to attend this one saw a very exciting game!!!!!!! any word on the recruits and their impressions? hunter
  9. and finally, we started passing to the back coming out......that play was long overdue and welcome to see Ross utilized more in the passing game hunter
  10. yep, no doubt these guys should be fired up...but more than anything after the OT win yesterday and the running at the goal and the success in the red zone OT scenario, the O has got to have gained some real confidence in their performance. this was a GREAT win for the team and the kids.....i am very proud of the Huskers and their will to find a way to win! hunter
  11. agreed......see my post under "almost threw up".......MHO hunter
  12. the kid was awesome.......he won a regular spot as strter IMHO........ hunter
  13. ok, not very pretty, but as all have said, progress.......i am seeing it and feeling much better about the offense. as much as many of us have said we would like to see more of Lucky and Glenn, it is more and more evident why Ross is the leading playmaker.........i have thought back to the time when Ross was strictly the back up running back and did not see much action, until last year.....it is quite obvious he earned his way to start and was patient and practiced hard and improved for several seasons, knowing he would get his chance.........Glenn and Lucky should be able to see that and understand it too.......patience guys, your turn well come, work hard and get ready, we want you guys to be the next Cory Ross...... and Coz, your D is the real deal.....congrats are in order.....great win!! hunter
  14. no joke! this guy would be a steal from the jaws of the Texas schools! let's get him!! hunter
  15. too many point predicted, it will be close, more like 14-10 hunter
  16. hmmmm.......sounds like "the check is in the mail syndrom"? hunter
  17. wonder if we will ever see Ross, Lucky and Glenn in the offensive set at the same time? sh#t, wouldn't that scare the hell out of most defenses or am I just dreaming? hunter
  18. nope, that is just understanding what skills your players have and building a game plan to best utilize those skills......every year, year after year, and not being stuck on a game plan that you like, just because you believe in it......hell you wouldn't take a Volkswagen to the dirt track would you? i will be very surprised if we see cally change his strategy based on the players he has, IMHO we will lose games we should have won until he gets enough of his guys on board to play the game his way.........we have already see proof of this philosophy hunter
  19. i would love to see a 3 back set for a change, for part of the game, i think a shot a smash-mouth football is in order against their vernable run defense........ hunter
  20. although i would be excited to see him in the slot, he belongs in the backfield along with Glenn, where next year, if properly coached and utilized, they should provide some excellent production as running backs........ hunter
  21. i think this has been covered before, but mainly, I believe, it is due to the complexity of the system......the old 8 lb playbook is too much for these freshman hunter
  22. my favorite comment.."it is what it is".........i assume he is refering to the offense at this point........kinda sounds like sipple has gotten under his skin a little bit too! hunter
  23. .........but don't everyone get mad if he fumbles or makes some mistakes, remember the kid is a freshman! IMHO he will be a huge asset next year and beyond...... hunter
  24. i hope that is not the case, a freshman complaining of not getting in?.......this is no doubt a tough offense to learn, with all the shifts and multiple names for a play, i am sure he is overwhelmed with it all right now, Beck included......i really think it is cally trying to show us that he is using or thinking of using options not considered to spark the offense......at any rate it is a no-confidence vote for the present receiving core......or who knows? maybe it is his way to motivate the WR's to get going......or get off the field! hunter
