  1. SCREW YOU BIG 12-2!!!! I will not pay....NOT AGAIN! :throwdabones1:
  2. I am not sold that we are going to win the north, let alone Oklahoma winning the south! Go Big Red!
  3. Really? Wow!! 1) We tend to play really well on the road 2) Daniel Thomas-future NFL running back (vs Neb. Att-22 YDS 63 AvG-2.9 TD-0) 3) Nebraska record vs Iowa State 84-18-2 I must have been following a different Nebraska team this season. They might play us tough at first but the only way we lose if it's a repeat of last year (8 turnovers, 4 inside own 5-yard line) The Huskers roll!!! I hope you're right, but hear me out. In 1992, Nebraska rolls past Colorado and Kansas, two top 10 teams in back to back weeks led by a freshman QB. The following week they make a trip to ISU with an outside shot at a national title still within reach and lay an egg. Ames is not exactly hostile, but that game really stands out. After 2 huge games knocking off undefeated teams, I hope there is no letdown. I am hoping for a beatdown, but if NU doesn't get out to a fast start on Saturday, I think ISU could hang around, especially if Martinez is not 100%, or Lee ends up starting. Couldn't agree more! This game the two remaining road games scare the be-jesus out of me. Iowa State will run the ball effectively and has enough of a passing game to hurt us. Additionally, despite their overall ranking (102/120) they seem to find a way to play enough defense to stay in games.
  4. While I would LOVE to get into the national title debate, I am still incredibly worried about getting to the Big XII title game. Games @ ISU, @ Texas A&M, and at home with a CU team that always plays us tough is going to be tight. With us being tied with Mizzery we cannot lose one game, this makes me INCREDIBLY nervous! I just think....crap I dropped my kool-aid...I'll finish this post later.
  5. Damn....Fit him for a #30 jersey and let him go nuts!
  6. I would love to say that I will miss the Missouri game, but the truth is that ever since the beginning of the Big XII Nebraska has been the kid that awkwardly stands in the corner at the party. Our girlfriend/best-friend (whatever metaphor you like) was taken by a cooler and better looking school in Texas. We had NO history with any of the south schools. KSU will always be mostly interested in KU, KU will always have the border war with MU, and I am sorry but we will not hang out with the stupid pot smoking wanna-be hippie kid named Colorado. Point of the story is that Nebraska never was really at home in the Big XII and that is the fault of nobody. And I will sincerely say that at the conclusion of this year I will pull for every team from the former North division to destroy those money-grubbers to the south. Here's hoping that the grass will be greener in the Big 10.
  7. While my wildest dreams involve the Huskers hanging 40 on these guys, complete with a Pelini timeout with one second left on the game clock.....THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN!!! This is going to be a VERY physical game, and I completely expect UT to bring their best game of the season and give us all we can handle. This is the game where we see just how much magic Mr. Martinez really has, and we get a wonderful opportunity to put a nail in the coffin of Texas's aspirations for the season. Can't wait to get to my seat this weekend! Is it too early to start tailgating? Be Loud, Be Proud, GO BIG RED!! :bonesflag: :bonesflag: :bonesflag:
  8. Look on the bright side...at least you aren't stuck in class. I have class from 4:30 to 6:45....at which point I will run from lecture to the parking lot east of the stadium and haul A$$ to my house to catch the game. Why can't this University be more like the hacks we play and cancel afternoon classes on a gameday Thursday!
  9. 1) Tell Boise to stop wussing out, and sign the contract to play Nebraska. We have offered, they keep saying no.... 2) 70 (Boise's SOS) - 58 (NU's SOS) = 12 Divided By 120 1-A Teams = NU's schedule is 10% better than Boise. While that is nothing to write home about, I would feel very comfortable stating that Boise would definitely not go undefeated with a schedule that was 10% stronger. 3) Who cares...it is waaay to early in the season to start worrying. Too many upsets on their way.... 4) :throwdabones1:
  10. 5. Sark standing on the sideline early 4th quarter with that "what the hell happened to us?" look. 4. Helu 125 yards 3. Defense (3 sacks, 2 turnovers, < 10 pts) 2. Martinez shows deep ball to go with short passing and rushing (250 passing, 115 rushing) 1. The entire country taking a collective double take at the speed and skill of the 2010 Huskers.
  11. Tis true, tis true...I got two east stadium tickets this last weekend for $20 a piece. Just spend some time down town, enjoy some beverages, and wait out the scalpers (6 pm kickoff should help!). About 5 min before kickoff they will be ready to dump some tickets for low prices.
  12. I loved the tribute that they presented with Fahie walking out with the flag this last weekend....but nothing NOTHING compares to the Rice game after 9/11. I vividly remembering sitting in the stand with both teams on the field, wondering why they were doing the tunnel walk, only to have firefighters and police officers come down the tunnel with American flags. It was as loud as I have ever heard that stadium, 2001 & 2009 OU games included. I know that other teams across the country paid beautiful tributes as well...But I will say that UNL athletics got it right both times.
  13. "The sky is falling! The sky is falling" said chicken little.
  14. 1) More maturation of young LB's 2) Hard running from running backs 3) WR's catching the ball...no more drops. 4) Less o-line mental errors 5) Cheerleaders
  15. Don't sell short Idaho...I do think they are a better team than people are giving them credit for. That said, NU by 28.
  16. As of right now, and as of week 3, yes BSU would beat NU. Now by week 10 or so, it could be a different story with the maturation of Martinez and the young linebackers.
  17. Rough for the next two years, but think of when we will playing Indiana and Purdue instead of Wisconsin and Ohio State
  18. Here is the positive though...come 2011 the Big 10 WILL be on par with SEC in terms of overall quality. Granted, the SEC will be viewed as slightly better year in and year out, but it will be closer than the Big XII-SEC or old Big 10-SEC. This means that a one loss conference champion from the Big 10 will "likely" get the same treatment as a one loss SEC team has in the past. Additionally, with the Big XII essentially boiling down to the red-river rivalry, the conference will again be viewed as we once were in the ol' Big 8-SWC days. Way to go Beebe, your conference is now on par with the football powers they are the ACC, and is only a step ahead of the Mountain West and Big East.
  19. Why? I would hope that Nebraska blocks any other Big 12 member from joining the Big 10 since they wanted to do whatever the Longhorns wanted to do. They deserved what they got. While Missouri is a great college and they do deserve their status as a well respected University, if the Big 10 does take any more Big XII schools, I hope they add either Iowa State or Kansas. Now before I get jumped for this, a significant of Missouri's reputation is built upon their fantastic journalism department (although the medical school is nothing to sneeze at), while Kansas and Iowa State have a bit more of a rounded curriculum that produces a wider range of research opportunities. That and Kansas (Basketball) and Iowa State (Wrestling) know how to win national championships....
  20. With the defense playing well out of the gate the offense quickly rolls to a 17-0 lead either early 2nd quarter or end of 1st. At this point the entire Husker nation fan base begins the armchair evaluation of QB's. Lee throws well and manages the offense efficiently (but not spectacularly) leading 2-3 scoring drives. Martinez plays great as well also leads a few scoring drives, has a couple electric plays both passing and running, but has a bad turnover. Green illustrates his growing maturity within the system and throws the ball better than we saw at any point last year. All of this points to a 59-7 victory by the Big Red, and continued debates over who is the next Ferragamo, Frazier, or Frost.
  21. There have been rumblings of this for a bit now...it would be great to see him on board to usher in our transition to the Big 10!
  22. :worship :worship :worship :worship
  23. Pretty interesting, I like that they give the likelihood of victory for each game. My question is if Nebraska is at very least a 55% favorite to win each game (50% in title game), why would they say that the chances of the team are mediocre? That said, I think they are vastly underrating Washington & Missouri. Pass the kool-aid!
