  1. Man I don't want to be TOO cynical but all it would take would be someone inside the Athletic Department feeding this to Sipple to throw him off, too. Sip is a mouthpiece for the department.
  2. My point was that the margin in Florida isn’t very useful because of how strongly Republican Cubans are. So I just think that context is important. The GOP is gaining with them but personally for me it’s pretty meh. Hispanics aren’t a monolith so it’s not like the same equal amounts of the same groups of them are trending Republicans evenly across swing states, etc. For instance the heavy shift in Florida probably skewed the national margin. And younger Hispanics are likely more liberal than older ones, just like other nationalities. Rhere are some lessons to learn there but they’re not very clear nor very generalizable.
  3. You can’t extrapolate Florida Hispanics nationwide because how much Cubans skew the sample there. So in reality it doesn’t tell us much.
  4. NBC just called the Arizona Governor's race for Hobbs. Meaning the Trumpist candidates ran in swing states all lost. Except Lombardo in Nevada and I'm not even sure calling him a Trumpist is accurate. He's more of your run-of-the-mill ring kisser. I think we're entering the phase where everyone except the hardcores pretend they never supported him.
  5. Masto should win in NV. There are too many votes outstanding in Clark county (Vegas) to be offset the rural votes dribbling in which will favor L:axalt. Unless he magically starts running up ridiculous margins in Vegas (zero evidence this will occur), she will pull away. That should hopefully render Georgia a moot point and give Republicans there permission to stay home or cross the aisle to avoid the trainwreck that is Herschel Walker. Dems gaining a seat in the Senate while the Rs get to deal with a nightmare situation in the House and get their butts kicked in a lot of statewide elections is pretty fantastic, IMO. The House is a meme body anyway. I'm sure they'll be firing up the panels to investigate Hunter Biden and Hillary ASAP.
  6. One of the most hopeless gerrymanders in the country. And it’s been this way for years. WI is at the top of the list we keep getting put on those “countries backsliding on democracy” lists.
  7. Stop hating on teach for being a proud investor in Vietnamese currency!
  8. This is his version of... errr, male insecurity, isn't it?
  9. No one is as they age. It's normal age-related cognitive decline. There's a difference between that and all the dishonest armchair MDs that accuse him of having DeMeNTiA. Our political system also generally rewards us with a ton of really old elected officials. It's a stupid quirk of the system.
  10. Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but the race I was most happy to see go the way it does was the Pennsylvania Senate race. Screw Dr. Oz. That guy is an unscrupulous piece of crap who hocked stuff he knew was at best useless and at worse harmful to morons just to make a buck and then carpetbagged his way all the way to some random state because he got bored on TV and wanted power just cuz. Conversely, Fetterman is just the type of candidate Democrats should be running. He's a well-known, well-liked brand in his state and despite his flaws, seems extremely authentic, which is a nice contrast with Oz. And he outperformed Biden in his home state. Running candidates who are well-liked in their state running on popular local issues instead of relying on whoever can kiss the party leader's butt the most seems like smart politics.
  11. You don’t go party with them like DeSantis do you?
  12. They have a much more diverse electorate with positions that are much less homogenous. That makes it a lot harder to stitch together electorally. Well that, and the radicalization of much of the electorate at the hands of religious institutions and right-wing news obviously isn’t doing them any favors.
  13. They’re not not learning. One major party is fine with armed weirdos staking out ballot drop boxes. One can only surmise why.
  14. True to form, this Texan did not even waste a beer on Cruz. I just saw a story that claimed it was a White Claw! (obligatory we should not try to attack politicians)
  15. Did you appreciate his "To independent-minded voters [let me tell you who to vote for]" shtick?
  16. I like this analogy because I was going to point out no one has mentioned that Megamind has all the understanding of what free speech actually is of an edgy middle school civics student after the first day of their Intro to American Government class.
  17. I don’t know if taking legal advice from Tom Fitton is like taking your Christmas advice from the Grinch. He’s about as far as you could get from a neutral party. He, like Musk, have been trapped huffing a pure, unadulterated supply of their own farts long enough, that this kind of dreck starts to sound plausible instead of the ridiculous fascist crap it is.
  18. Can confirm. Am Democrat and these were all very popular at the latest monthly meeting. We are also looking very strongly at ways to expedite immigrant caravans, burn more American flags, kill God, kick more puppies and encourage more common use of the word “moist” in everyday conversation.
  19. Oh, another political candidate attacked in their home. Hmmm, what parallels could we draw between this and the Pelosi attack. Gee, I wonder.
  20. Curious why the OP has his weight as 190. All three recruiting sites I checked showed from 220-225. I know there's some fudging of numbers there a lot of the time but he looks thicker than 190. He'd be the biggest RB on the roster only behind Yant. Who just isn't that great. We could use a future thumper.
  21. Well this just stands to reason. Look what horrifying effects the Devil's Lettuce is having on people!
  22. I understand how this sounds good to voters, but it's just absurd. There's no way you can A) reduce funding and downsize the IRS and B) make it work better for people. Pick one. Republicans care a lot more about A than B. They just pretend to also want B. The reason it's been staffed up is because it takes money and manpower to actually enforce tax law against tax cheats, who disproportionately skew wealthy and/or corporative. Republicans do not care about that and are willing to lie to people about it for votes.
  23. Now you watch it buddy. I’ve never known elected Republicans to lie to anyone or distort the truth in any way before. And I will not stand for slander of their good name, sir. They stand to gain absolutely nothing from keeping people terrified all of the time.
