  1. I rented a bus to go from Chicago (west loop) to the game and back. We'll be leaving at 1pm and coming back after the game. We have room for another 20 people if you want to avoid the trains. The train will take about an hour and a half from downtown vs 30 min by bus. If you want to join us, email me at pschulenburg@yahoo.com.
  2. Just got 4...lets buy 'em up! http://ev10.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/...r=&appCode=
  3. I think the real question is why would you drive from Columbus to Norfolk to shop. Does Rags to Riches and the Buckle really have things you can't get in Columbus? It is cool to see huskers though. We would see Frazier, Peter and Wistrom at the bars a lot. I always felt bad for Frazier cause he never seemed to have any luck with the ladies. You'd think for a guy who won two titles and runner up to the hiesman trophey he would have had better luck.
  4. Agree...you can't have a rivalry where the other team is in another division and you play twice every four years. When I was at UNL (late 90's) we never really looked at the OK game any different from other games (but that was probably because they sucked). I will say that the OK game in Lincoln in '01 was the best game in any sport I've ever been to, but that had more to do with it being 1 vs 2 than a rivalry. I'm making the predication that the Bo Pelini era starts of with a reverse pitch to Beau Davis and he throws a 80 yard strike to Ganz for a TD. That's why Beau was left off the depth chart...to disguise him from other teams. We all know he has a gun.
  5. I thought it was an interesting point about the negative impact of more televised college games on Husker recruiting. I never thought of that as a negative on Nebraska before, but I could see how that might be. I'm sure 17 year old kids want to be on TV. It probably doesn't help that a lot of our games have gone to pay-per-view.
  6. I was in the student section...It was rockin' like I'd never seen before. It became a total mosh pit!
  7. Read he was in Lincoln for the Spring Game...hopefully that's a good sign.
  8. Thanks real'97champs! If you are 21 (or close) I'll buy you a beer that day! Got 6 tickets for $65 each! I live in Chicago and wasn't planning on coming in for this game but couldn't pass this up. The same thing happened with the Tech game a couple years ago...it was 90% husker fans in their section. Awesome!
  9. I live in Chicago and have worked with many ND grads...I would hire a UNL student over an ND grad in a heartbeat. 99% of them are very arrogant and believe the moment they walk into a job they should be running the place. It's ridiculous.
  10. Thanks to the Gimp and Hoyaman. This was a quote from Ade... "I committed because of the coaches, the facilities, but most important, the crazy drunk white boys in So Cal that showed me and my family some love. That's what I care most about" Here is a pic if you don't believe me ...
  11. You have to think that Zac from Norman is pumped for another shot at OU before he graduates!
  12. I'm looking for 4 tickets to the Missouri game if anyone can help me out. Any seats are fine with me.
  13. skersfan, also wanted to thank you again for the great time at SC! The tailgate was like nothing I've been to before. I enjoyed talking Huskers with a great group of fans. It was an experience I wont forget!
  14. That guy is huge! When he caught that pass I actually thought it was a TE, but then they said Purify and I was pumped! The Gimp has spoken.
  15. There already is a future line - NU +11.5 The Gimp has spoken.
  16. I think he has 3 to play 3 so not sure if red shirt is an option. I'm pretty excited about this guy...especially since he is walking on, there really is no risk.
  17. Man that sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing Bowman and Jones together. I sure hope he takes a medical redshirt and comes back next year!
  18. I agree Rome can be a jackass, but I watched this show, and it was one of his guests that made the comment about Bomar not throwing his girlfriend down the stairs. Rome did laugh and add the comment about the mailbox.
  19. My guess is they will be at USC because they will want to promote the ABC Sat night games since this is the first year they are doing this. My guess is game day will be at a lot of these games this year. I guess I am in the minority, but I love everything about college game day. I love when they are in Lincoln.
  20. McGees (a great sports bar in Chicago) announced with a full page ad in the Chicago paper today that they are becoming a Ohio State bar! I've been watching Husker games there for years. It has been great and I'm so bummed about this. I emailed them my dissapointment. This was the response I got... As a Nebraska fan myself (born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa), I really, sincerely am disappointed as well. We struggled with this decision, and it is in no way a reflection of how we feel about our loyal Nebraska fans, or how much we have enjoyed our partnership with Nebraska over the years. Unfortunately, from a business perspective, attendance has dwindled, and it's been too long since those "standing room only" Saturdays. We have tried to keep that spirit and fun alive regardless of the wins and losses, but we just haven't been able to. No matter how many times we played the fight song and no matter how many giveaways we did, we just weren't getting the kind of response that we used to get. There are many factors involved, but we believe that dwindling attendance is due in part to an increasing number of night games scheduled by the University. In addition, they are doing an increasing number of pay-per-view games, which are prohibitively expensive for a bar as large as ours (pay-per-view events are billed to bars by our capacity). In any event, we wish the Huskers and their fans all the luck and success in the world (I know nothing would make my family happier!). Thanks for your feedback.
  21. Gotta give SP props for this one...getting big games like this scheduled isn't easy. These are going to be two great games. I can't wait to go down to Blacksburg in a few years! Good thing we have USC to hold me over for a couple years!
  22. Man, not even an 18 wheeler can bring this guy down!
  23. This is pretty surprising. Anyone know what happened this Spring to Chad? Especially surprising that he would transfer to NU when we didn't even offer the guy and he would lose a year of eligibility. Any word if he is walking on or on scholarship? I say welcome aboard Chad! We've had luck with brothers in the past and we could use some depth at Center next year with Mann graduating. The Gimp has spoken.
  24. I think our days of signing QBs that run a 4.5 40 are over. I was kind of surprised we were going after him at all considering we only take one or two QBs a year. He doesn't quite fit the mold of a WCO QB. I'm ok with this one. I think this may help us with some of the other QBs we are recruiting. I hope the guy does well at ISU. He did what was best for him.
  25. I have to say...what a stand up guy...yeah, he shouldn't have used the supplements, but man, he took responsibility for it, admitted he made a mistake and took his punishment...that is very refreshing to see!
