  1. Good point and question, but I think this was approached this year with Owa. We had plenty of DE's, but because he was looked at to be a game changer, we kept our doors open. I would think that it would be open, depending on the player. If he's a good fit, meshes well, etc. If we can get Williams to commit early I dont know if we will still be looking. I think he is the real deal, hence why he was offered so early. After reviewing the top DT's, I think you're right. The top guy on Scout is Jernigan and he's not going to come here. So, after that, the top targets are all about where Williams is at, if not lower than him. However, if Jernigan or a top DT at the position came to Bo and said he'd genuinely like to play for him, do you think Bo would close the door with Williams and Mack on board?
  2. I'd put Cooper ahead of Bell at WR. Speaking of Cooper...I wonder if being on the baseball team is bringing him down a little bit. Every practice can make a difference. Spring football is a chance to improve and he's missing it to play baseball. He's a great athlete, but I'm just wondering if it's stunting him at all. It would also be interesting to hear how the coaches feel about it. While they're evaluating players in the spring, he's not there because he's playing baseball.

  4. Scout has a teaser asking/stating whether we really have a chance with him or not. Could anyone summarize and share? I wonder what our odds really are. Can you imagine a line with Moore and Westerman at the Tackles?! Wow.
  5. It is a great question. I dont know if anyone can really answer it. But here is my speculation. We have made Jamal Turner our guy. We have told him he will play QB here at NU which he really isnt as big of a QB project as people think. Suntrup is a good QB but he isnt going to want to come into this class with another 4 star QB prospect. If I were Okie State I would go HARD after Suntrup. He fits their offensive schemes to a T. Plus his throwing motion needs a bit of work as well. To answer the question I think if he wants to be here we take him but I dont see him wanting to be using conventional logic. I could picture Stanford and Harbaugh trying to lure Suntrup to the West Coast. They're on him early, too.
  6. I agree. I think that Bo is great because of his demeanor. He's never too high, never too low. He's really confident, but not arrogant. The atmosphere of the team is to always compete. I think that increases the intensity on every play. If you wanna play, you have to compete. If you play, you have play well to stay on the field. I think that shifts the focus from hype of the team or individual and puts it on their play. And to be devil's advocate as well, we lost to Iowa state...and that was a stunner. Couldn't believe a Bo coached team could lose like that. 8 TO's
  7. By the way, i know that the Scout 150 came out a little while ago...but Turner was bumped up to a 4 Star and is #103 on the list. It was on a different thread, but figured it could be posted in his own thread as well!! So, the ESPN 150 watch list is the only one lacking...
  8. Very, very impressive offer list. Just noticed 3 big ones not on the offer list: USC, UF, and Texas. Not that it really matters, though.
  9. Carl Pelini Rising Carl Pelini was contacted by Tennessee about their DC position prior to hiring Wilcox. With the program rising so fast, and the cost of coordinator's rising much faster...how long can we keep the staff in tact? Glad he stayed...but for how long? When will he get the urge to be the head man for his own team? Interesting read from LJS.
  10. FWIW, Looks like Reeves is a 4 star, just outside of the 150. Scout # 100 - 200 It looks like the remaining 4 stars haven't been sorted, then he is going to wind up between 151-167. (There's 17 4 stars outside the 150.) That's not too bad. Hopefully, he keeps the 4th star and maybe even moves up some!!
  11. I agree. Plus they finished their year on a sour note by losing to Mississippi in the Cotton Bowl. Luckily for them, the Big 12 South I think will not be as tough in years past. Texas has to replace Colt McCoy, and if it's Garrett Gilbert, I think there could be some problems for them. Shipley is also out, so they lose their two biggest offensive play makers. Nevertheless, they are Texas, and will always find a way to reload. One would have to think that all the off-field problems at Texas Tech might have a negative impact on them as well. I think the door is wide open for a team like Texas A&M to stun some people and take the South. I disagree. This game just screams trouble. I actually feel more confident about beating Texas, than I do Ok St. We'll have UT under the lights satuday night, possibly the primetime game for ABC with a possible visit from Gameday. But the week after, going to stillwater, is the classic trap game. I know they're not going to have the talent of last year, but don't sleep on Ok St. I became a little nervous about the OK St. game because the OC from Houston is there. They had a terrific offense last season. It might be a transition year, but if the players gel that offense could take off.
  12. Well, I'm in Asia, and it's already the 9th for me!! I've been waiting since yesterday, the 8th!!
  13. Interesting read on a breakdown of our recruits. This is an opinion, but interesting none-the-less. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/340551-2010-nebraska-recruits-player-breakdown
  14. If anything, I think it would be interesting to throw LaTravis in there for a few plays here and there. To run the Wildcat or the option. (Sure do miss those triple option plays of the TO days. Mackovicka up the gut, or the QB stringing it outside, with a pitch the RB down the sideline.) I think it would be interesting to see them throw some wrinkles in the game plan. Unless, of course, it disrupts the rhythm of the offense.
  15. I liked his balance. Showed a lot of agility. Came back for the ball and seemed to put himself in a position to make a play. Looks to be the part of a true Div I WR.
  16. How he is just a STAR on SCOUT, just blows my mind. I don't get it. He's already got a good offer list that would only grow had he not committed to us already. Wow.
  17. Maybe as a DT? 5'11, 245 with a 4.9 40. Don't know how that translates as a RB or a FB.
  18. Possibility...Everyone has a chance, if Bo does as he says. Which I think is true. Probability...very, very low considering who and what he has ahead of him.
  19. Oh oh oh...it was Ben Dover. He played End, Guard, and Tackle.... sat at the end of the bench, guarded the water bottles, and tackled anyone that came near them.
  20. Don't forget about RB Robert Standard from St. Louis. Rivals page has him with a schollie from N.
  21. NICE Thanks for sharing that pic.
  22. I can understand. I lived near L.A. for 2 years. It is a great place to live. It's fall or summer weather year round. The beaches are great and the drive up the PCH is unreal. The Bruins are a solid team. The school is solid academically. He'll be good there. But he could a been Suh type of special under the Pelini's. Boy oh boy...what coulda been. Well, now on to the Aaron Green thread for 11. heh heh
  23. I'm excited to see Moudy. I think he's been a little under the radar. Not a name that came up in a lot of conversations. He had a great season that ended in the USA vs. the World game. And was recognized by the coaches as a standout while there!! I was also a little disappointed that Ashburn wasn't bumped up after the season he had. But can't wait to see him suit up as well. What about Vestal, Rome, and Guy! Man, this is a pretty nice class in the trenches already!
