  2. No offense, but analyzing Nebraska's rank for recruiting this year is pointless. BYU is taking like 26 kids to scholarship and we are taking way less than that, so you can't really compare. All I know is we have shaped a phenomenal class for 2010. Agreed. That's why whenever I look up the team rankings, I always sort according to "Average Points" instead of the default "Total Points." This shows a better picture of the quality of the class as opposed its quantity. When sorted this way, Nebraska has the #25 class, according to Rivals. Just wanted to add that despite their low rankings...Boise State seem to be doing a decent job with the talent they DO pull in.
  3. What wire what names? Carnes, Cooper, Owa...signing day coming up. All of them are on the wire, and we don't know which way they'll fall.
  4. At least the Drama is back ON. 3 names on the wire with possibly more affected based on who signs on!!
  5. More Good News for Mike Moudy!! "Clearing paths for the running backs is a big Team USA offensive line anchored by five players rated 4-Star by Scout. While the coaching staff and even teammates have had a tough time singling out standouts through the week, it was Mike Moudy's name that came up the most often. Moudy is 6-7 and 290 pounds out of Castle Rock, Col. and is committed to sign with Nebraska on Monday." http://nebraska.scout.com/2/941899.html
  6. Every day, I keep telling myself...I'm not going to check the board today. I'm not going to check. Owa's decision will be big news. I won't check. And here I am....checking...as I have been doing every day.
  7. I wonder how it would have affected recruiting with it being so late in the game...Good thing we won't have to find out this year. But, interesting to ponder. I don't think we woulda had any defectors...or would we?
  8. SCOUT.com's final state rankings: #2 ranked prospect for the class Mike Moudy!
  9. SCOUT's Final state Ranking in Colorado has Kenny Bell #9. And Kain Colter is 7.
  10. I thought I also read earlier that T.O. gave his word that he'd help find a slot for him some where. Maybe this is that slot...just thinking out loud
  11. Hopefully our QB can help these guys become play makers. I still think that our QB play has an impact on our WR's. As our QB play can have an effect on our play calls, too.
  12. Some articles recently talked up Taylor Martinez and his versatility. T-mart was the scout team Offensive MVP. They expect him to add a couple of wrinkles to the QB competition. Can't wait to see what he's got to offer.
  13. I don't know much, but I'm hoping that if we get Cooper, Carnes, and Owa, then they go back to Evans and Cotton and see if they'll walk on. Talk about the great walk-on tradition...I recall TO discussed that the walk-on program needed to get to where it was during his days in order to get recruiting back on track. We shall see...but that would be great of them to embrace the great history of walking on.
  14. I think Suh might be better in the 4-3 vice the 3-4. His superior athleticism allows him to do things like rank in the top 100 for passes defensed. His instinct and intelligence is amazing. He reads plays very well. I've never seen himself over penetrate, or take himself out of a play. His motor never stops whistle to whistle. He is always around the ball and sets himself up to be in the right place at the right time; watch the highlight of his INT vs Mizzou. He's got a great first step to rush, or he can engage and shed at the right time. Excited to see him play no matter what team and what formation.
  15. Well, I think it's more complicated than that. How would you take it if your boss came to you and asked your son to work at the company you've been busting your tail for...for free? Isn't that kind of insulting? Plus, I think there's always a chance of after the dust settling...asking the kid to embrace the great tradition of the walk-on program. I forget who it was, but wasn't there a couple of guys that did that last year or 2 years ago??
  16. Out of nowhere... PER ESPN Hayes Pullard now also considering Nebraska ATH Hayes Pullard (Los Angeles/Crenshaw) previously named USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Washington, Arizona State and Florida (no offer) as his finalists. However, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports that Nebraska is now also under consideration and could receive an official visit. He's already made an official to Notre Dame, will visit Arizona State on Oct. 31st and hopes to set a date with Washington. He doesn't feel the need to official visit his two local favorites. The three-star also shared what he's seeking for, "I'm looking for a place where my mom can trust me being there, and not be worried about me. A place she'll know I'm being taken care of and well watched during school. Also somewhere I know there is going to be good coaching, and they're always staying on me." We got a chance still!
  17. SCOUT says that Notre Dame and Indiana dropped their offers....we're the only offer he has. Hmm...makes me wonder why. But, if we're still recruiting him he must be the real deal. I guess this improves our odds of him being N!
  18. Looks like VATECH will be a HUGE game!! Is it August yet????
  19. From LJS: Husker reviews mixed By BRIAN CHRISTOPHERSON / Lincoln Journal Star "It’s worth noting that the 2005 class Mandel mentions averaged 3.33 stars per player, according to Rivals.com. The 2009 Husker class is not far behind in that category, averaging 3.25 stars per player, but had nine less players. The 2005 class also had 11 players with four stars and two with five stars (Marlon Lucky and Zackary Bowman). The current class has five four-star players and none with five stars, according to Rivals." Interesting that we're not that far off based on the average of ranking of the class/players. Then again, we're not gonna win the BCS next year, are we?!?! Agreed...10 win seasons will help the new generation recognize NU.
  20. I agree with above We don't even know how effective our QB will be. But the QB, no matter who it is, should be able to throw the short and intermediate (I hope). If the QB can do that, I think our TE's will have be big. McNeill would break out. If someone can step up and throw downfield like Ganz did, then I'm looking at Paul for his downfield, big play potential. I'm thinking Holt will step up as a possession receiver and be big in the red zone. it all depends on QB play. Or like above...we won't have to pass because the big red ground machine chews up everything in it's path!!
  21. OHIO PETE POSITION: MOD Posts: 2061 Joined: 7-February 07 Husker Board Report: GREAT Get for Huskerboard.com AND BIG RED NATION!
  22. Cody Green looks like the real deal. I'd like to see how he looks against collegiate game speed. If he is as good as he looks, we'll have no worries at QB for 4 years.
  23. I think we have a chance. Every game, no matter who the opponent is we always have a chance. Any given Saturday. Just ask Appalachian State of 2007 when they beat Michigan.
  24. CBS Sports analyst blogged - Disgusting Party and Nebraska: CBS Sports Mike Freeman Is anyone willing to post comments to him? Or is this story just not even worth the time?? Regardless, though...what kind of timing is this? Just had to try and ruin today, didn't he?! GO BIG RED!
