  1. Ahhh, since 1980. doh!! Maybe Roger Craig then for the 4th guy? 1)Tommie, 2)Suh, 3)Rozier, and 4)Roger Craig.
  2. Isn't Ronald McDonald skinny???? I can understand if Ronald McDonalds image was an obese Ronald but he's a toothpick. I can't eat McD's burgers anymore they make me feel like I'm gonna throw up so I just stick to the McNuggets What's sort of funny is that McD's is just about last place for me when I'm going for a drive-thru. Wendy's, Runza, BK, Arby's––all better than the golden arches IMO. But of course if Ronald folded up shop tomorrow, the same people would simply move down to their next target. I’d like to see a cage match between Ronald McDonald and the Burger King guy. Sure, the Burger King has the creepiness factor going for him. But Ronald has seen it all. He is really cagey. For a fast food clown, that is.
  3. No doubt Chris Brooks has got the tools. But who knows for sure why he didn’t catch on at NU? Probably a combination of these explanations by huskers1 and whateveritis.
  4. I wonder if Oklahomo makes this list at all. Most other polls have them in the mid teens. The highest I've seen is Scout who has the Hillbillies at #6. And Scout has us at #5. Oh yeah, not that it means anything. But I do like seeing NU up in the preseason top-10 again.
  5. Anyone been following the 30 best players countdown thing? link They’re down to the last four now. Who do you think will be 1-2-3-4? My guess is: 1)Tommie, 2)Jet, 3)Suh and 4)Glover. btw, That's not necessarily how I would rank them. But I think it's how the countdown will play out based on MNCs, Heismans, etc.
  6. Deep in a subterranean chamber under North Stadium, UNL football bio labs is growing a coach clone from the DNA of Bob Devaney.
  7. Surprising that Scout lists five guys from the Big 12 in the 1st round--two each from NU and aTm, and one from CU. But none from either OU or UT. What's up with that? Ha ha! Dont forget Thomas from KSU at 29. Oh yeah, I guest KSU is still in the Big 12 aren't they. My bad.
  8. I could see Marlon Lucky catching on someplace. Lucky is one of the best RBs we’ve had who can catch balls out of the backfield since Roger Craig. He is probably a better RB than most NU fans give him credit for.
  9. Surprising that Scout lists five guys from the Big 12 in the 1st round--two each from NU and aTm, and one from CU. But none from either OU or UT. What's up with that? Ha ha!
  10. Sure, Crick and Prince are the best bets now. Ricky Henry or Roy Helu could go pretty high too. But we got a long ways to go. Several other guys might get drafted, but not in the first round. Niles Paul and Pierre Allen for example. And pretty much every DB we graduate will get a look—--like Gomes, Thenarse, Hagg.
  11. "Sacred Hoops" by Phil Jackson. Real old book, but it's a good read. I sometimes like books by coaches and athletes.
  12. Where are you getting these stats? (I'm not disputing them. Just want to know you got them from.)
  13. Hard to say whether Bo would take the job if Tressel stepped down and it was offered. I wouldn't rule it out. But I would love to see the OSU-NU two game series in 2020-21.
  14. The fact that Myron Rolle took a year off of football and went to Oxford as a Rhodes scholar probably didn't help him. Seems like that would be a good thing. But who knows.
  15. A great football program is a bit like a successful business. You need both trappers and skinners. Trappers, the guys who land the contracts (or sign recruits). And skinners, the guys who get the product out the door (or develop football players). Bill was a pretty fair trapper—he landed quite a few good recruits. Bo is a tremendous skinner—developing players.
  16. Anyone else notice that Asante when about 50 spots higher than Myron Rolle? Seems like announcers were always fawning all over Rolle every time the Fla St defense was on the field.
  17. I'm not too surprised. I seem to remember seeing Dillard higher than Asante on a lot of draft boards. I could be mistaken, though. Yeah, I think Dillard was ranked a bit higher. He has a good size/speed combo for the NFL.
  18. I’ve been a big Asante fan every since he committed to us. Gonna miss him bringin the wood on opposing WRs.
  19. It's a good thing Colt killed it at his pro day workout. Otherwise he might not have gone as high as the 133rd pick in the draft. Hookem Whorns!!
  20. Offense WR - I might put Henry before Cooper because he has been here 4 years and this spring so he may start in front of him, but Cooper will put on some pressure. Plus we will see some 3 and 4 WR sets that will get the guys some time in the game. OL - Mike Smith will be a back up at Guard is my guess, Cole Pensick is the back up center. Also as Knappic said Hardrick backs up a tackle. That leaves Qvale and Sirles as the other guys on the 2 deep, but I expect a couple of the other young guys to play as well. We have really gotten some depth here in the last couple of years. Defense DL - I would think Stein will be the 1st string with Moore as a back up and Guy/Rome redshirting. On the end I would bet on Jason Ankrah playing rather than Martin. I think Martin is listed as a DT anyways. CB - With all the talk of them nearly playing Andrew Green last year, my bet is he plays this year rather than Dijon Washington. Really I think a lot of guys will play, but I would put Green as the back up. I agree bhunt about the LB position. they may end up using alot of different combinations this year who knows. Nice breakdown overall, made it easy for me to look at it and agree with 90% of it! I kind of forgot about Andrew Green, I agree on that one and maybe you are right about Hardrick but I'm gonna stick by Martin lol and we will see what happens, coaches mentioned him a few times last year and Ankrah is still just so young (but I agree he'll be right up there. Great list! Looks as good as any guess could be at this point. I suspect Courtney Osborne may be in the mix at FS. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Mike Smith start at center. Helu starts. Zac Lee will start too. I just don’t see Cody Green stepping up his game to the point where he is the man at QB.
  21. Kinda funny that Tebow gets all the press. Yet the OL in front of him--his center, Maurkice Pouncey--went 7 spots higher in the 1st round to the Steelers. I don’t think I’ve heard Maurkice Pouncey’s name mentioned twice all last year. Tebow is a human PR machine.
  22. And when we do send a QB, they sometimes end up playing DB.
  23. Me too. Especially Weatherspoon. Hard to believe Weatherspoon was unranked coming out of HS. He is a freak of nature. At combine had 34 BP reps, a 40’ vertical leap, and one of top 10 LBs in 40 yd dash. Also one of the most productive LBs in the nation over the last three years. Stars matter. But recruiting is an art, not a science.
  24. Yeah. An extra play-in game in each region could be cool. Going to 96 teams (nobody left out, almost) seems pointless.
