Pure irony calling others uninformed here. Obama's numbers have rebounded a bit the past couple months, but the last I checked he is still the most polarizing POTUS in US history. I think alot of people get it incorrect when they say things like this. Obama is deeply unpopular with Republicans. The average approval rating for his entire term has been 14% among Republicans. That's about 10 points lower, on average, than any President's average approval rating by the opposite party in 50+ years. Further, his approval rating has never been higher than 23% with Republicans at any point during his term. But it has been as low as 6%. Overall, Obama is at 53% during his last year in office. And that's with approval ratings over 50% by moderates as well. By comparison, if Obama were to leave office right now, he would trail only FDR, JFK, Eisenhower, and Clinton for highest approval rating when leaving office. And yes, he would be above Reagan. So yes, in a way Obama is polarizing. But it's only to a small section of the country.

Then we will have to agree to disagree. I mean, it's not as if Kenny doesn't have access to the coaches. He spent last summer training with Coach Williams in Lincoln. And Coach Riley has easily been the most accessible coach to former players in a LONG time. So Kenny's ability to pick up the phone, and ask questions to people to find an answer to what was going on could have happened. That would have been the grown up thing to do, to ask questions, be patient, and see what could be done. But with no back story to what had happened with the testing results, no idea who made the decision, no idea why they made the decision, or even no idea what was going to happen going forward, he just goes straight to Twitter to complain. Kenny asks for respect of former players, at least so he says. But it's completely ironic he shows no respect to fans, the administration, the University, or the current coaches with his Twitter postings over the last few years.

Would you say the same about Ameer? Track record says, no. Kenny has a history of calling out fans, the administration, and even the new coaches. In most instances, he just wants to scorch the ground just because he has the voice of a former player. Ameer has no history of any of that. To go further, Ameer was asked his thoughts much after the fact of Kenny going to Twitter to whine. The whole situation could have been resolved if Kenny had more patience than that of a 6 year old screaming, "ARE WE THERE YET?" The University just hired a new Chancellor yesterday. But Kenny thought he needed answers immediately about names on a Vizio screen in the weight room? C'mon, Kenny just needs to be a grown ass man for a change and not use Twitter, or any social media, just to start drama. Leave that to the teenage girls.

I think back to Ross Els telling everyone how hard it is to recruit to Nebraska, and how hard it was to get kids on to campus for unofficial visits. Then I look at our spring game visitor list, and I just want to laugh at Els.

The Devaney hire is huge just for the fact it shows the amount of respect Riley has in this profession. You have a guy in Devaney who has spent 30+ years as a scout, personnel and front office guy. And the first time Devaney comes to the college game is to work with Riley, who he work alongside during their stint with the Chargers. Plus it doesn't hurt that Devaney has made a LONG career out of scouting NFL talent. Having that set out eyes in the AD certainly cannot hurt.

The kids decision isn't what has fans, and the coaches infuriated. It's how the father and the son handled themselves during the process. Fitzpatrick actually committed to us back in early December. Fitz and his father both told the coaches that this visit meant nothing, and he was fully committed to Nebraska. That was early this week. It's why the coaches told Kalija Lipscomb not to come on his OV this weekend. Shady stuff went down this weekend. Dad's guilty mind is blaming Nebraska and the fans now. Specifically, what did we do that was different? More importantly, was there more zone blocking? Man? Iso runs? Reads? Fullback? Power? Personnel (21, 11, 12)? Bueller?

Sam should go further to clarify that Bo didn't want Frost to call plays. Frost was offered the Co-OC gig in 2010. But it was just a title job. Beck was gonna be the guy calling plays. Frost wasn't having any of that.

The weird thing is, from everything I know, Tommy doesn't have these crappy mechanics in practice which is what absolutely frustrates the coaching staff. Put him in a full scrimmage, or an actual game, and Tommy resorts to terribly bad habits. It sort of reminds me of Taylor Martinez 'changing' his throwing motion. It looked differently in the summer, and fall practices. But the minute those lights came on and the real games were played, Taylor went back to those horrific throwing mechanics he always had.
