Yeah, I think some of that is just "who you are" and some of it is coached...some guys just have that ability to know when the ball is in the air.

Jackson is ripped on by some for very obvious reasons... 1. Super high ranked recruit (We love them...but then we hate them...we want walk ons...sort of...but not really...but we pretend like we do...Like that Sullivan kid who basically made 3 plays all year) 2. He was part of the "other coaches" class (Which means he is lazy...even if he isn't) 3. He might have celebrated after a play (This one seems to really bug some fans...unless it is a player from the 90's...then they do do anything they want and it is okay)

Well, if you remember correctly (no link) all us fans were basically fully on board with the fact that the Huskers current recruiting was going to show the Big Ten was "real speed" looked like and how the conference would not be able to handle the "Texas Speed" that the Huskers had and blah blah blah. Also remember that a "monkey could win 9 games in the Big Ten" I guess scientists will have to figure out what animal Riley and Frost are...

I don't know...I mean use the good old sociological imagination for a second. Put yourself in his shoes. He was a NC in college with LSU (Did he win one with OU? I don't know) He has a Super Bowl ring with the 49ers He is rich beyond his wildest dreams (I would imagine) He can retire anytime he wants I mean...if you had that resume and wealth would you really be doing all you could to get a new super high stress job? Not me! Most of us dream of having enough money to do exactly what we want when we want. Now, I am sure there is a good chance that schools have not called him to be a HC but I would also think there is a good chance that he has made it clear that it would have to be the 100% perfect fit for him to leave. And face it, a lot of Huskers are thinking one of two things... 1. He can't get a HC job at a big time school...haha told you so! 2. I hope he gets one so that he can fail...haha told you so!

Maybe, sort of??? But to think that for 20 years...not one of those teams "worked hard" and all the coaches were lazy asses is probably not totally fair. Most of those players don't get to that level without working hard and most of those coaches don't just "luck into" those jobs (except Riley, who is a human lotto ticket) I think it is probably fairer to say that it was a combo of less talented players, less amazing coaches, not working as hard at times and some bad breaks.

Man...that would be a huge get.

He was a big time get but it really seemed like he didn't want to do the things that made him such a great HS player. He was all energy, rebounds, put backs...in college it seemed like he really wanted to dribble and shoot.
