  1. There is a difference in being held accountable with Bo and with Dobson. They might have been held accountable with Bo but they were not with Dobson. If they would have been held accountable by Dobson they would have had 10-12 wins each year! That lazy prick
  2. He's obviously talking about how quickly they explode from their stance given that they've heard the snap. Not how fast they react to a noise. I don't think one has anything to do with the other...like for instance...being great at "slap jack" probably doesn't mean you are great at the VJ... Exactly. Reacting to the snap has nothing to do with VJ, which no one is claiming. Okay, thanks
  3. Riley's wife couldn't do it...she is allergic to everything. Look...this isn't creepy or weird or gross...this is "doing what it takes"...We all know it
  4. This is no joke but after talking to and reading tons of things...this is what a lot of coaches look for to see who is an athlete.. 1. Can you run at full speed and jump 2. Can you run at full speed and turn your head and not have your head "bobbing" up and down

  6. No...the VJ probably has nothing to do with the reaction of an OL off the ball...The VJ is not tested (that i have ever seen) off of a snap count.
  7. Why would you waste time doing anything that doesn't translate to on field performance. There are no weight room warrior awards for college football teams. As coach, I have thought about this over and over for years...here are my thoughts... 1. Working out in general is good for you 2. Making the workouts a competition or having a competition component is good for you and the team With that said...are there things that are done both in the weight room and with conditioning? Yes, all the time. But it is super hard to strip things down to just fitting into the category of "it must translate to the field" For instance...many coaches argue that barbell bench is pointless and dumb bells are more realistic as a football simulation. Then you have the vertical jump...from a stand still position...that makes almost no sense in the sport of football...you are always running when you jump or at the very least moving. You have some coaches that don't stretch at all and others that stretch all the time and others that only do dynamic stretching. It goes on and on. Everything "translates" to performance in one way or another I guess...
  8. I think I read that Stanford doesn't do bench press.
  9. I was kind of thinking that too but it would be sweet to just toss them in the crockpot and leave while they are cooking.
  10. I think that you look at the situation... Collins: Probably a high draft pick VV: Graduated...been hurt before a few times. I think when you look at the facts you have to assume there is a good chance that both would leave but one for sure. I think if you lose one you need to bring one in. If you lose two you better bring two in.
  11. I was "friends" with Sims, he came to my room all the time for some video game playing! He brought in his award for Scout Team Player of the Week one time.
  12. He was my partner in Spanish class...I was "Angel" and he was "Lawrenzo"
  13. You'd be one heck of a busy AD if you had expectations like that all the time. Geesh I would be earning my check! ha
  14. The Illini are horrible...with 3 starters out for the year (probably)...
  15. My freshman year I got accused of stealing a $10 CD player that belonged to another kid. I didn't do it, but our guidance counselor and principal turned a molehill into a mountain by locking me in the office and interrogating me about it. Anything I said would further convince them I was guilty, they even called my mom to ask if the cops could come search my room. Ridiculous stuff, but basically goes to show you that there's not much hope for someone once the people in charge have already made up their minds. It is very true especially if you are a kid and super-especially if you are a kid that has a few learning issues, which his case clearly is. For goodness sake the kid that he would just "go home" if he started admitting to all that stuff.
  16. So the ex-boyfriend just "guessed" her cellphone password? I can hardly remember mine and he is just guessing them correctly? Also, Brandon Dassey got a raw deal and I know that the old "liar liar pants on fire" is not much of a defense but if you have ever worked with kids like him (at the time, when he was young) you know that those kids will pretty much just start agreeing. They tend to want the questions to either end...or they want the people asking them the questions to be happy.
  17. Minny is horrible...Nebraska has the best 3 game stretch a team could get. Huskers win this one and Minnesota never gets past 51 points. Huskers 68 Gophers 50
  18. He has a degree...if he doesn't make it he will go start his career...such is life... One more year playing football in college was not going to change his draft status that much if at all..
  19. I think I know how recruiting could have been better this year... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VLzJX8CRzM
  20. Tom Herman has a decent class so far over at Houston...He has been very impressive.
