  1. Yo. Btw. The games on ABC. Might be why you aren't seeing it on the BTN schedule.
  2. Most Nebraskans I know think of going to Columbus as Columbus, Nebraska. AKA Nebraska's 10th largest city. The Columbus you are referring to we would say. I'm taking a trip to Columbus, Ohio. Visiting the shoe to watch the Husker's trounce the Buckeyes ! :-)
  3. Centaur? I thought Jackson was going to win that spot. Barney pissing off so many offensive lineman that we have to bring Ankrah over from D? Crazy sh*t.
  4. Nah. No reason to visit Columbus when I can watch the game here in Omaha. Nothing to do in Columbus. Horse racing at Ag park will be over by then. Also they moved Behlen's A bomb test building and I'm not sure where to, so you can't see that. The Husker House is good but Omaha has more and better steak houses. I guess I could see the Higgins memorial and Pawnee park but both are kind of lack luster...
  5. Things don't always happen the way you think they will. When Wiscy doesn't win the division I'll be pleased.
  6. That's right Purdue Mr. Carell! When everybody assumes Wisconsin has won the division already it gives a scrappy under the radar team like Purdue the opportunity. Purdue plays Wiscy at home. They win that game the division is up for grabs.
  7. Sports nightly interviewed Taylor Martinez a few weeks ago. One quote that Taylor made stands out in my mind. When asked about Rex burkhead's role in this years offense and if Rex would be getting more carries Taylor said "I don't think Rex will be getting the ball much" then went in to talking about his receiving corps and alleged improvements in his passing. Now this tells me one of three things. 1. Nebraska is going to be throwing the ball a whole heluva a lot. 2. Martinez wants to throw the ball more or at least he thinks he does. 3. Taylor has absolutely no idea what the hell he's talking about when he says a potential All Conference back won't be getting many carries.
  8. Spoiler Alert.... Nebraska wins 31 -17.
  9. For crying out loud! We aren't going to lose any freaking football games! 14-0 56-10 over Purdue in B10 CCG. 28-22 over USC in Actual national Championship Game ( I'll leave you guys to debate the mythical one.) Additionally I invite you all down to join me this afternoon as I'll be visiting Kool Aid days in Hastings. Today is the last day!
  10. Edited for lack of concentration. I don't know where my head was, confusing a great receiver like Purify to someone like Niles Paul.
  11. Wow... Just wow... I hope if this kid is on the fence that he doesn't read the steaming pile of sh#t filled with unfounded ridicule and speculation from a bunch of Saturday afternoon armchair quarterbacks AKA THIS THREAD.
  12. Throwbacks aren't ugly. They're vintage and a nod to history and tradition. When you throw together something gaudy and lame it doesn't sit well with me.
  13. Last time we dawned ugly new uniforms I recall us getting our a$$ kicked. Remember those ugly all white red striped road uniforms? Who was that that teed off on us? Was it Penn State ? Ugly uniforms are bad luck!
  14. Why not Brion Carnes? Because Taylor Martinez is the starter......duh.
  15. Check that. Husker fans. The cocky ones always hide when they've gotta eat crow
  16. Hey hey hey hey hey wait just a GD minute here! Name all the conference USA teams that have beaten Nebraska in Lincoln in the last ten years. I count one, Southern Miss. So watch yourselves when you start running your mouth, I don't want any mouthy Husker fans punking it up and jinxing the ball club by sh*t talking a Southern Miss fan who's been nothing but polite. USM has talented football players and aren't afraid to play on the road. Haven't you ever watched college football on opening day? No favored team with better athletes and coaching has ever been scared sh*less or knocked off because of Ill preperation, jitters, or just plain over confidence or complacency right? We're only a few years removed from Scares from SDSU and a loss to a vastly inferior Iowa State. Last I checked it's still 11 on 11. Southern Miss will play hard. Yes Nebraska will probably win but I'd hate more than anything to have a plate full of crow Sept 2. We know the sh*t talkers will be nowhere to be found if we lose it.
  17. Ever since the NCAA did away with the short lived Kickoff classic games I have hated August. It's the so close you can taste it month. Everybody is talking about the upcoming season. It's analyzed and scurtinized and the prognosticators jabber away and ALL I want is SOME DAMN FOOTBALL! Not just any football though! High School football starts about mid August but that just doesn't quite do it. I work most Friday nights and the highlight real might offer a glimmer of talent here and there but for the most part it's blah blah blah...don't care... Then there is NFL pre season, which I couldn't give to shifts about because I hate the NFL and I hate the showboating. So in August each day is agony, each day is filled with anxious anticipation, each day is full of torturous Husker buzz. It's a wasted month of unzenlike longing for each day to be over inching our way to September. Fortunately this year I only have to hate most of August. College football kicks off on Thursday August 30th! Thank goodness for small favors!
  18. Yep. Not rivals. I was at the Washington St. Game. It was awesome! In fact that was my first Husker game.
  19. As a Nebraska fan I find it irritating when fans are down on Nebraska. No matter the season, no matter the level of talent, no matter what I think the football teams realistic capabilities are and despite how I might express that to others, when I sit down to watch a game I expect Nebraska to win it. No matter the fo. Call me unrealistic, call me a homer, call me delusional I still expect perfection. I think it's fine to have expectations of greatness every season. This is after all Nebraska and we should expect nothing less than the best every season. Expectations I have for every season. Win Every game. Win the Conference Championship Win the actual National Championship (not the mythical one) A minimum of 1 all American team member. A minimum of 3 all conference team members. Humiliation of rivals and their fans. Some of you may think this is too much to ask but like Steve Pedersen falsely claimed, I actually do refuse to accept mediocrity. So I'm never " happy" with a nine win season. I will admit it better than an 8 win season, but the only true happiness is winning them all.
  20. A lotta love for Ball out there. He's a good back but imagine ya'lls surprise when Rex out yards him, out receives him, out TD's him, and out finesse's him in 2012.
  21. You gotta disrespect our players on our own message board? Sorry, but after what you said about the Brock Huard post. Seems kind of hypocritical. Just saying.
  22. If UCLA, Iowa, and Northwestern are toss ups than so are Southern Miss, Arky State and Minnesota. Hell you might as well call the whole season a toss up save for Idaho State... wait... maybe that's a toss up too? Oh my god we're going to go 0-12. If you think A Bo Pelini coached team is going to win less than nine games ever, you're smoking crack. He could win nine starting all walk on's and with Byron Bennett at kicker! Hehad far less to work with in 08. Still cranked out nine wins.
  23. You know what Nebraska fans need to collectively learn? Patience. This coming from me is self admittadly pretty audacious, but seriously. Championships are the culmination of talent, effort, strategy, and most importantly luck. Luck - I personally am a karma or "what goes around comes around" believing knd of guy. So maybe when both the players and fans put in the appropriate level of effort and positive will whatever that might be, maybe then we'll see the kind of luck that helps to win the big ones. Effort- The effort is tremendously better than it was five years ago. Pelini is the kind of motivator we need to produce a maximum effort from the players. The end of 2009 was a good example of championship level effort. Proving to me he is capable of making the guys bring it. Strategy - Defensively the strategy has wavered recently but I believe it will be sound once again. Offensively the strategy is improving and promising. Talent - I personally believe the talent level is a tier below championship caliber this year. It doesn't mean that the players can't over achieve and prove me wrong. I hope they do. Also this is where that luck element comes into play.
  24. Did you hit the post button? Seriously - I've done things like that before Yeah. It posted. I'm thinking it might of been it's slightly discourteous tone.
