  1. Helu was beasting out there, which shows we had decent run blocking. I hope he stays for next year, but can't definitely understand if he decides to leave for the pros. I honestly think he could have been a lot better if we had a viable #2 running back. Burkhead may be it someday but there is a huge gap in between him and Helu.
  2. I doubt he is going to leave Miami, but here is a video clip
  3. Im glad someone agrees with me and sees the potential this year. I agree, I honestly thing Lee's main problem with hitting reciever's was because of the pressure he was gettting. it was His First Start on the Road, I believe he will get better. And the Defense is very sound, they played a great game yesturday had 3-4 plays gone our way we win that game pretty easily. This was a growing experience for the whole team and the coaching staff. I personally feel as though the coaching was sound, even on offense (until we got in the redzone). Lee did a tremendous job but it appeared as though he placed to much stress on himself to win the game. Watson should have come down from the booth and chilled him down, and you are right if 3-4 plays had gone our way this could have been a blowout. i can't say it enough I am proud of our D. We just need someone on our O that wants the ball in their hands on every single play, while Helu leads by his actions we truly need someone that is not afraid to get up in someone's face. Lee isn't it yet and I'm hoping Paul becomes it. Our defense will play good enough for us to win any game. We have the #7 scoring D in the country. Beating out LSU, OSU, BAMA, USC, Texas.
  4. I have been thinking the same thing. It would almost have been better to just let Coale score because we would have had more time on the clock. I am with you that there should have been someone on the goal line, and taken one of the DL out of the game for the extra man. but I am extremely proud of the D. they proved themselves to be physical and tough, even though I wish we had better LB play.
  5. My thing is, why would west give up the sideline when there is less than 2 min left and VTech has no timeouts but evidently the fault is mostly on O'hanlon. “What I saw, the quarterback rolled out, and Matty (Matt O’Hanlon) didn’t get deep enough,” Sanders said. “But you know, that was one play and the kid played good all game. I’ve just got to get him coached up a little better.” I only hope that VOCAL leader on offense emerges and says that this can never happen again. Because it makes no sense for us not to have scored a touchdown. The D played lights out, only giving up 16 pts. They need some help from the O.
  6. We are going to beat the bricks off Mizzou, n/o to them. We are going to win the north this year. There is not a defense in the North that matches what Tech had. I know the offenses are more prolific, but our D played lights out. We shut down TTaylor the whole game and the run game after the 1st. The only other game I see us potentially losing is to OU.
  7. now that you mentioned it, I think I am bleeding inside my chest.
  8. Our linebackers are sucking and they are being too conservative on offensive. Trying to rely on Helu too much.
  9. Eric Martin offered an explanation for the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty called on him after he removed his helmet at the end of a second-quarter NU kickoff. The freshman linebacker said he took a forearm in the throat from an Arkansas State player. “I lost my airway, and my (chin strap) was over my mouth,” he said. “I couldn't breathe. I had to take my helmet off so I could get some air.” Martin fell to the turf in apparent pain after the penalty was announced. The 15-yard foul was Martin's second in two games. He was flagged for a personal foul against Florida Atlantic. He said Arkansas State used a double team to try to stop him on kickoff coverage in the first quarter before sending three players at him on the play that resulted in the penalty. “I wasn't trying to fight them,” Martin said. “I was backing away. I didn't want no problems. I'm just trying to play football.” http://www.omaha.com/article/20090914/BIGRED/709149800
  10. I wish we could have bama's season from last year (knock on wood). but i hope your squad has a good season and give troy h***.
  11. I wouldn't mind taking Danny Spond. Recruit him as an athlete with the potential to move him LB or QB. video either way this is going to be Hawkins last year if he doesn't put something together down the road. CU looked slow against Toledo. They were sluggish. Dare I say it but if they keep playing like this and don't beat Wyoming they may not win a game this year.
  12. Hawkins is gone. Colorado State and Now Toledo? Toledo?
  13. I honestly don't know. Munson just said that he was pretty sure Rome would 'reaffirm' his commitment to Okie Lite and that would be that as far as we're concerned. Could be he's not aware of what you mentioned. I think we can agree that there are a lot of mixed reports coming from this kid. He may reaffirm his commitment but why is he still visiting us then? does he really want to see what we can do against lousiana lafayette?
  14. I thought we were recruiting him for DT
  15. Welcome Walker. We are also still in on Mobley, Okuyemi, and OO. Our D-end class should be a good one.
  16. "Egg Harbor Township (N.J.) athlete Tejay Johnson wasn't expecting to find a good fit when he traveled to Nebraska for a visit this weekend. He discovered, however, that NU is going to be hard to say 'no' to when he chooses a school. Is he looking to decide soon?"
  17. I agree, Mizzou looked much better than I thought they would or had been led to believe they would by the media. In fact I think a case could be made that they were a much better team than they were last year, especially on defense. Perhaps Ilinois is that bad but they were a very experienced team with the same cast of characters that played Missouri to the wire last year while we performed miserably against Misery. Even in his first start I like Gabbert better than Daniels, though it remains to be seen if he can play at that level for a season. VT will tell us a lot. If we come out of there able to move the ball well and score a lot of points, then I will feel much better about playing Misery and Oklahoma. And I strongly disagree with the comment about Oklahoma's defense being suspect. Watching them against BYU, I figured they would shut us down badly at this time. The only weakness I really saw was the offensive line and of course Bradford going down. How we can move the ball against major college defenses will tell the story. Hopefully we are successful at VT and play with or beat them and/or Missouri and continue to improve. IF we get shut down, I say it's time to try it with Green. I agree with you OU D is going to be stout, but my comment was made in regards to BYU's D. I think our D will be better than BYU's D by the time we face OU. I think OU's D may have to carry them for a while, because I doubt OUs second QB got that many reps with the first team offense, not to mention who knows when Gresham will be back and they are breaking in new receivers and a new line.
  18. I agree with you i think that the VT game is going to be close, and by no stretch of the imagination am I expected a blowout. But I definitely feel more confident going into that game. vs. FAU
  19. I am more concerned with playing Mizzou than VT. I know that VT was playing against a stellar D, but only 155 total yds? and allowing 498 (against a team that is not known for being explosive)? Tyrod Taylor 9-20 w/ no TDs. I know we shouldn't look past them because they are still dangerous but that game looks more winnable, and I would say we may have a 60-40 shot at winning if they play like they did against Bama. As for OU, if we get past VT that game looks extremely good as well. I have to believe that our D is/will be better than BYU by the time we play them. Our DBs look to be gaining confidence and the linebackers should have he experience. I know there were some concerns about our pass rush, but appears that we weren't trying to dial it up just contain. Also taking into consideration that we held a decent offense to only 3 points.
  20. take it for what its worth but rumors on UF boards are that he is a silent commit to cal.
  21. "All along, the recruiting battle for Kyle Prater seemed destined to boil down to one decision: How close to home the Proviso West star wanted to play his college football. Apparently Prater isn't concerned about airfares these days. The 6-foot-4-inch, five-star recruit is expected to announce Wednesday an oral commitment to play for Southern California starting in 2010, a person close to Prater told the Tribune. Prater, the No. 2-ranked player overall nationally in Rivals.com's Class of 2010 rankings, has a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday news conference scheduled to announce his intentions. Prater's final five contenders reportedly were Southern California, Illinois, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee, though the final tug-of-war seemed to come down to the Trojans and the Illini. Prater had 60 catches for 948 yards and nine TDs as a junior. " From the Chicago Tribune Commited to USC
  22. He did say it at 55:27. Don't know if he was being for real though. The Video is up on their website now.
