  1. I want to see: the evolution of the passing game. Our passing game was laughable last year, and supposedly we're going to make big strides this year. I want to see receivers getting open and catching the ball. the skill position freshman at work - Heard, Abdullah, Turner, Green, or whatever combination they don't decide to redshirt. a comfortable, poised, and uninjured Martinez. I want to see that he can throw it away when it's not there, that he can run out of bounds instead of take a linebacker head on, that he doesn't have to make spectacular, hero moves if the play breaks down. O-line consistency - no sacks, limited penalties. No turnovers. And overall, a coherent, fast-paced, clear offensive vision. I want to see the aggression, the upscale tempo, and the simplicity we've been hearing about for months. I'm not too worried about the defense.
  2. Why exactly did Shapiro come out with all this? If he loved the school/football program enough to pay millions, why is he ratting out and basically sinking the program? My only guess is he's so egotistical and hungry for fame - the same reason he wanted to be the sugar daddy to dozens of kids over a decade.
  3. I would LOVE if ND joined the conference. Love them or hate them, they are a juggernaut in terms of marketing and money. They open up the NYC market. They are a marquee name. Anyone playing them gets national exposure. The list goes on.
  4. Missouri is likely joining them? Florida State? Is this speculation or has this been thrown out by a credible source?
  5. Possible teams for Big 10 expansion: Missouri, Pitt, Notre Dame (I REALLY hope we get this one if the SEC picks up OU and aTm, not to mention probably Clemson), and possibly VT or WVU. I'd prefer all these teams over Syracuse, Rutgers, etc.
  6. Pitt is a decent pickup for the big 10, Notre Dame would be the best pickup of any team in the country except Texas (in terms of money/market). Any chance we'd pick up Virginia Tech, or would they be more of an SEC team? West Virginia? Missouri is a decent pickup as well.
  7. I don't like all the hype, I'd rather be underestimated. On a side note, Oklahoma vs. Alabama would be a badass championship game.
  8. I'll be happy if we've eliminated the false starts, holding penalties, fumbles, and confusion pre-snap.
  9. The tweet makes it sound like he's threatening harm, or at least that's how I read it. If he did "threaten," I would think it would be with no playing time or something like that.
  10. Is Joseph Carter the guy on the front page of Nebraska Rivals? He looks beast as hell.
  11. Well for starters I found out they call him 'Jon Jon' in his neck of the woods. I take it you're not an Eastbound and Down fan...
  12. I hope we get this guy just so we can call him the "Shelby Sensation." And then, every time he tackles someone, he can yell "You're f'ing' out!"
  13. Why aren't the names Dan Mullen, Gus Malzahn, or Dana Holgerson popping up? Those are the guys I'd want if Pelini left.
  14. Does anyone think this may be because Brion Carnes has moved to number 2 in the depth chart? Cody had to know he'd ride behind Martinez coming into this season, seems to me like this might be because he got moved back another spot. Best of luck to him, I really respected his attitude and effort no matter how it paid off. Good luck.
  15. I'm guessing it's a reference to that movie from the 80's since there's an "e" on the end.
  16. I'd much rather we utilize the talent we have in whatever way we can. If he doesn't work out, then he doesn't work out, but it's better than letting athletic talent rot on the sidelines. I really like what I am hearing about Beck so far, and I'm glad the guy is experimenting with different things and attempting to get playmakers on the field.
  17. Makes you feel like an a-hole every time you bitch about something trivial or have those woe-is-me moments, and we all have them. Great story - I love hearing about kids who weren't supposed to live past a few hours running around years or decades later. Those kids are tougher and stronger than I'll ever be. Best of luck to this guy.
  18. I'm hearing reports in Northern Colorado of Nebraskans buying Wyoming season tickets just for this game. If that doesn't tell you how passionate our fan base is, I don't know what does.
  19. How much do you think tickets will be? And where do you guys usually get yours? Also, how do you make sure you're in a section with other Huskers? I've seen their fans before and really don't want to end up by myself in the student section.
  20. Didn't realize this was in Laramie. I'll make the hour and fifteen drive from Fort Collins then. Be wary - I've been to a Colorado State game in Wyoming, those fans can get rowdy.
  21. I wonder if a possible reason for Brown to coach RBs is his recruiting ability. We won't be getting many high profile receivers no matter how good he is, because of the type of QBs we have and the offense we run. But since we are moving toward a run-heavy system, why not get a guy who recruits well and coaches well at that position?

  24. While I'll admit these hires don't have the "wow" factor, I've seen enough of Bo's genius on the defensive side of the ball with "no-name" position coaches to trust him in hiring the right people to fix the offense. Our offensive problems the past two years are not Bo's fault (other than failing to address the problem, which he has now done) and I trust his ability to coach and to turn a football team around. Given the miracle he worked on defense in only one year, I'm taking the wait-and-see approach on these offensive hirings. He isn't stupid, and while we might not be able to pull the hottest assistants from other schools, we could surely hire someone with a more impressive history than Fisher, for instance. This tells me that Bo believes these guys are the best for the job.
