  1. Probably true. But most successful people are. Especially big time football coaches. Not necessarily a bad thing all the time. Like you said, at least he's sticking up for his players. We could have worse d-bags as a coach. There are plenty of coaches who are giant douches off the field and away from the cameras (see my current home state), which I think is more annoying that what Bo does to the refs and on the coach's show. At least Bo doesn't try to hide it.
  2. I'll be there for my one game per year and I can't wait. If Green starts that would be awesome. He doesn't give me a boner or anything, but I do think he could be a very good quarterback. I started out the year completely behind Zac Lee. I thought he was the leader of the offense for this year but I've changed my tune. Anyway, enjoy your first game B-Rent. I'm going with a buddy who has never been to Lincoln before. No matter what's the latest controversy or who's the crappiest coach on staff there is absolutely nothing like Husker game day.
  3. I've been booing Barney all day
  4. Love Sharpe as he does a great job. I would like to hear Kugler call an NU game, but with him being an NU grad, I'm afraid he'd be too homerish. He does such a great job on Westwood One that I'm sure that same professionalism would come across in his calling of an NU game. I don't think Kugler would be too homerish. I think USC is pretty fair when they need to be. The only question I would have is would he have to/even want to give up his NFL gig with Westwood One? I think he calls a great game though. I especially liked listening during the NCAA basketball tournament. Some could say that some of the bits on USC might be inappropriate for the voice of the Huskers, but it doesn't really bother me. USC inappropriate? That's funny. Those who think anything on USC is inappropriate would be flat out wrong. Like I said, it doesn't really bother me. But not everyone wants to hear the word "penis" every 15 seconds.
  5. Might as well. Nothing in the game ever screamed Cooper's superiority over Bell or Kinnie.
  6. Eric Crouch was the reason we had Frank Solich as coach as long as we did.
  7. Good option plays should be designed to go for a touchdown every time. Like TO said in the article averaging 7 yds per carry is pretty amazing. But like any offense you have to have the athletes and they have to know their assignments inside and out. That kind of offense is as much finesse as it is power, but it's a pretty cool combination. On the other hand, a poor option offense is pitiful. There just aren't that many offensive minds like TO, Paul Johnson, or even Urb who can make it work. Football is an easy game. All you have to do is outnumber the defense in a certain area of the field and you should be able to move the ball. There are many ways to do that.
  8. Agreed. Although Niles seems a bit more incosistent than Gill and Brooks. Maybe my memory is serving me wrong, though. I agree. Although I meant to say only Niles and Gilleylen have done really well, you could probably put Brooks in there too. But like you said, When it comes to consistency Niles definitely ahead of those two. I'm also afraid that Gilleylen plateaus at the deep fly routes.

  10. Pretty much every WR on the team saw playing time against Mizzou. So far I think Niles and Gilleylen have really done well.
  11. That's cool, but we do go on defense after we score a touchdown too.
  12. You guys can disagree all you want, but this statement is exactly correct. Beating Mizzou doesn't mean we're back. Didn't Clownahan even beat them in 06'? We have to step up to the plate and score a victory against one of the big boys before we can say we're back. Take a look below at how well the bunny slope teams have competed in recent history: 12/4/04 Oklahoma 42, Colorado 3 Kansas City 12/3/05 Texas 70, Colorado 3 Houston 12/2/06 Oklahoma 21, Nebraska 7 Kansas City 12/1/07 Oklahoma 38, Missouri 17 San Antonio 12/6/08 Oklahoma 62, Missouri 21 Kansas City The south teams over the past five seasons scored 233 points while the bunny slopers put up a whopping 51 points in the Big 12 Championship game. wow. I know the North has a long way to go to catch up to the South. But when you see it in black and white like that it really articulates the disparity between the two divisions. Bunny slope indeed.
  13. I live in Big Ten country so it will be on espn. I don't have cable so I can't watch it on my home TV. Worst case it will be on espn360 but even the worst sports bars will show and espn game. And since it's in the middle of the day you shouldn't have any problems with questionable crowds if you're a kid or have kids.
  14. Why does it seem that every time someone shows up with a rumor, there is a mob dying to call BS on them? The injury news that I've seen on here has been pretty damn accurate. Like the outbreak of swine flu last week? I tend to believe everything I hear and see so I'm not calling BS on this, but I'll still hold out some hope that it's not as bad as we fear.
  15. Has anyone ever given a sh#t about who's won the Nobel Peace Prize before? I know I never have, and still don't.
  16. I would've been happy to walk 2 miles, sit in the rain, and endure some sh#t-talk to be at that game.
  17. I think he's smart, hilarious, and a good coach. I don't think he's really that arrogant, he just doesn't give a sh#t about what people think of him and I can respect that. The only thing I would have against him is the LDS kind of wierds me out. But I don't know if he's really all that devout or not. Sorry if I offend any Mormons on the board and I guess I shouldn't hold a person's religion against him but some of the practices are a bit much for me.
  18. The Fiesta Bowl would be the lower-tier BCS bowl this year. Pretty much every team in the bottom part of the top 10 (which is where we'd be ranked in this scenario) on down should have two losses. TCU could be an exception, but there won't be two non-BCS teams in BCS bowls.
  19. There was a school that didn't hire Turner on the basis of race, but that was Auburn not Nebraska. That doesn't help their story though.
  20. Athletically I go with Crouch, but I would much rather have Frazier as my startin QB.
  21. I have a friend with his own Imax theater. So I'll watch it there on the 40 ft screen
  22. I don't like watching games with people who bitch about past coaches. Whether they're complaining about Callahan, Cosgrove, Solich, or Bohl I'm not real interested in their opinions. Although I was once one of them at a time in my life, I don't like watching games with dudes that are blitzed out of their mind. Yes, I've been there before, a long time ago, but I still don't like it. Why miss out on the experience? Plenty of time to get pissed after the game.
  23. It's his account. Many times there is a guy that takes care of coaches' internet socializing. Pete Carroll freely admits he has somebody tweet for him most of the time. Then again Pete Carroll has about 75 tweets per day so he needs an assistant. Bo comes with one every two weeks so it probably is him.
