for most of the years i've been alive(48) with the exception of the 90's, Nebraska made very good with identifying talent in the rough. that is my biggest hope. we get the recruiting going. we have the coaching , facilities and program . let the players take care of the rest. its a hell of a lot easier coaching and winning with good players than bad. someone said something about competing with the big boys for recruits..i'd say that in year 3-4...there is only so much time in the day, if you don't properly survey the surrounding, know your strengths and weaknesses and work accordingly you can end up with a lot of busted deals and failed pipeline, broke on the street. then you are scrambling to fill the roster. id rather see us know our strengths (for now) develop a simple system, create an identity, recruit to that system/identity and run it with freightening efficiency(like K state). find the overlooked 2 stars and 3 stars. that will likely put you in the top 15 consistently, then you can start to pick fights with SEC over players after the close calls with the final 4...a big 10 champ. appearance or 2. right now I think enough kids see Nebraska as irrelevant. we need to be relevant first , figuring out how we can win with who we can find and develop would be my job 1. but that's just me....im not a coach. I do think Riley has the right demeanor and background to get it done...

great get for Michigan and the B1G. Michigan fan gotta be feeling good.... maybe this will be the beginning of the B1G making the turn towards being more competitive. its good for everyone in the conference.

I'm sure he will do great and it is a great, well fit hire for Michigan. the conference wins as well.. However,......................... its not like SF is begging him to stay...and him to UM IS NOT a done deal. lotsa other interest from NFL teams...he may or may not be the next Bo Schembeckler. time will tell

i dont either, it just seems that in these days with people using their gear(athletes, movie starts performers, etc) to make all kinds of statements-political and polarizing etc, , ncaa or the school would not be real open to this...but whatever...i'm glad Coach Pelini had a good impact on him, that is so critical to these kids. my kids coach get throught to him in ways i can't, and i appreciate and take advantage of that.

meh, if it had worked he'd be called a genius. he called a better game than I was expecting, he had 'em in it at the last minute which is better than some.....you know USC was watching for Ameer. ....and then some would be saying why the hell not try a fake, do something different......win some lose some...you don't win games in 2 plays, you win em in about 125 or so....they held us, good defense...congratulations to them. looking forward to next year.

yes good season ending, looked like a possible blowout on natl TV coming and they made it a very entertaining game-maybe one of the more entertaining this bowl season. I guarandamntee you the pucker factor on USC's sideline was high. in a shambles, we still have the players to play with many in the country. sure hoping with some better recruiting, more depth, a different psychology and good coaching, we can become relevant again. maybe stretch to the final 4 once in a while, at least be an annual solid contender in our conference , making it to the B1G championship more times than not.

not sure I can remember another player who would have so much messaging on his equipment- B for an 8, etc. writing on his arms, i'm kinda surprised they let him get away that.....gotta imagine there are a lot of ex players thinking wtf?

im watching the game from Mexico on ESPN VIVO, my first time seeing a Nebraska game called in Spanish...quite interesting

we need 2 teams consistently competitive in top 10 an 2 more in top 15. good solid bowl game performance against other top conference talent....all over multiple years.. otherwise, we aren't going anywhere. and I hope its not MSU, Michigan, and Ohio state only....with occasional pop ups from Neb and WIS.
