  1. send in maher.... that hit would have been a suspension last year
  2. rest of the Big 10 has to be lickin their chops wanting to hit this...
  3. not a first down...a touch down! wisky=pain, embarrassment #10 my a**
  4. uhhh...someone got into their parents bartles and james apple wine coolers
  5. i guess they all signed some 10 year deal they wouldnt leave and got paid....what a mess. loved this article from Pat Forde...damned funny. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/6941542/baylor-bears-biggest-obstacles-texas-aggies-join-sec "Adding to the absurdity is the fact that the league's power brokers are shrinking back in the shadows while the midgets wrestle. Last summer everyone said Texas held all the cards, and that Oklahoma was a major player in whatever happened as well. Yet today their futures are tied at least in part to Texas A&M and the Big 12 bottom-feeders." that is funny right there..and I dont care who you are...
  6. im confused 1. what can Baylor sue for? Can I sue people for not doing business with me? 2. Is Baylor the ONLY freakin school that has ANY balls to stand up to all of this ...or is this a situation where everyone but them( and probably ISU) has a press release ready to go announcing their succession assuming aTM leaves and the dominoes start falling.. my head hurts. it seemes like a whole lotta people with no business or sports background making a lot of very big decisions. pretty much all of these AD/Presidents have no business background...more educational/figurehead background...no offense to professors, but running a business and teaching business are a long ways apart.
  7. if we had executed well and taken the foot off the gas in the 3rd quarter...ok. we did not execute simple plays well. we did not execute at the position level well, we looked sloppy, confused, out of sync. missed blocks, mis reads on offense. Tripping our way to 40 becasue our oppoinent is weak and commanding 40 and backing off are 2 different things. i did not see much command. better teams will not be so forgiving..even the article in SI today is talking about martinez being the key to our offense...again. unfortunately, I am very skeptical.
  8. I went out to some of the other boasrds last night around the Big 12, funny how they see everything like we did last year.the tone has completely changed..its not about NU cant play in this league anymore, its about texas ruining its second conference....OU boards are pleading that if TU goes with them to Pac , they do not keep their network and dictate to the league..where the hell were these jack#&@es last 2 years when we were saying the same thing. even some said he now wished they would have kicked TU out of the leageue and kept NU and wnent on an expansion tear... living in KC and growing up in Big 8 country , I really miss all the local games, fans, talk, etc...but oh well that was then.. its all seems to be a big waste because of the complete incompetence of the Big 12 leadership and a bunch of schools willing to be led around by their nose....ISU, KU, KSU, MU, etc. etc.
  9. for all the talk of challenging for B1G championships, we needed to look a lot more like Boise State or LSU against their competion and a lot less like NU did against ours.....to be that, we would have had our 1st team out at halftime like back in the day...real happy with kicking game, defense will be fine...but like Nebraskanheat said, that offense which has squandered the last two years for us should be clicking much better...LSU or Boise would have flat out depantsed us yestarday. it could be a long season.
  10. What Im learnin... theres a big difference between our O and LSU's O. watchin the beat down they are dispensing to Oregon without all the bobbled handoffs, fumbles, missed this and that, etc. etc. we gotta ways to go!
  11. heading to tablerock and listening on serius...sounds a lot like last year..well maybe not quite as bad....excellent kicking game, good defense, offense is not composed and confident. i know its first game and their up big, but it seems real shaky...
  12. its the same every year...the press votes, then someone say "hey guys--we forgot notre dame. gotta get em in somewhere!" i swear every year they get an instant vote to the top 25 and then s@*$ the bed...
  13. When it comes to Big 10 Teams, Im all B1G. except when they are playing us.
  14. wow is it just me or do i need to towel off after Lou Holtz rant.....60" of plasma spitting all over the front room.... ill be having nightmares of daffy duck tonight.
  15. if this link is correct, minskys city market is 8 blocks North of the presidential. http://www.minskys.com/locations-menus/city-market.aspx i tried to copy the mapquest but couldnt do it...the hotel will know. and minskys pizza rox! get the honey crust call them to confirm, good place actually here was the link i was referencing: http://www.huskerboard.com/mods/husker-watch-sites.htm
  16. they do get their pick of the litter in TX. maybe they get the top 7 of 8 recruits out of texas every year.... now suppose they have a recruit in NJ? part of the recruiting process is to tell the kid they will start playing his games on the long horn network?. the kid would think that pretty cool...now texas starts getting 7 of the 8 best recruits in the country, not just texas. at least thats how its being viewed in the big 12 recently. they can start using the network to televise big recruits games from all over the country, not just Texas. if OU and aTm dont like it, it cant be good.
  17. In the words of Gomer Pile "Suprise Surprise Surprise! was driving accross KS yesterday listening to sports radio out of KC. All I could think was "told you so". the 610 guys were talking about the big 12 not making it 3 years, TX going independentand the league scattering to Mtn west, big east, etc. I am sooo glad we are gone. if I was TU, id do the same thing...

  19. woo hoo! can't wait. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/?eref=sinav&sct=hp_nv_a http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/stewart_mandel/06/29/nebraska/index.html?sct=cf_t11_a0

  21. I live 20 minutes from this kid and have watched him play football and baseball in our high school conference for some time now. I do not know him or his family, but from what I understand from people who are close to his family(its a small sports town down here), play with/against him, etc. , they all say he genuinely LOVES the idea of playing football/baseball at Nebraska(and in Big 10) and all you hear about him is not him trying to build up his draft stock. I think (and hear) he's still a kid at so many levels who just loves to play. but now its time to get professional about it..... he has grown up decisions to make and I cannot see him coming here. Look no farther than Blake Lawrence as an example of what can happen, another kid from Shawnee Misson HS here in KC. Way too much risk to play football.. Bubba needs to pull the page out of the Chris Wenke play book... go take a run at MLB, get them to pay for school if it doent work out as part of his signing, and see what happens.then, if MLB doesnt work out, come to Lincoln with $3M or $4M in the bank, sweet ride, nice crib, untouchable by the NCAA, not havin to sell jerseys for tats, and beating coeds back at the door with a stick, torching big 10 defenses, getting a heisman and getting us a NC at 26. Just like Chris did... all of the finest things in life... I give it 0.00% chance he is in Lincoln come fall. I will enjoy watching him play for the royals though....of course when he gets good, they'll trade him so we can watch him in someone else's world series team.......
  22. kill the preseason games that have us all so enamored and glued to our seat...NU vs. SDSU, Michigan vs Troy, Alabama vs. Kent State, etc. play conference championships like now so the reguar season counts, have all conference champions meet in a national tourney, seeded high against low. winner winner checken dinner at the end is the NC....oh wait a minute that would cut the NCAA out of billions of dollars that are "all going to students" ALLEDGEDLY. and I would be missing the Manwich horse$%#^ bowl...dont wanna do that! I love the bowl season starting in June every year--riveting TV!
  23. here is the front page stories for college football on SI website today: BCS confident it could cut ties with Fiesta Bowl Tressel apologizes; Buckeyes tab Fickell as fill-in Auburn to look into players' claims of payments Michigan's Hoke can earn $3.25 million per year TRUTH & RUMORS: Pac-12 to play on Sundays? Irish to play under home lights | 2 out for spring Rutgers' LeGrand released from NJ rehab center Two PSU football players charged after scuffle Former Kansas tix employee sentenced to prison Nebraska's Crick out for spring with knee injury TRUTH & RUMORS: Carter's son 'Bama bound? FX to broadcast weekly game during 2011 season MORE CFB: News Wire | Teams Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/#ixzz1I8PjCZOy 4 of the top stories have to do with scandal and thats just today....seriously...this whole thing is becoming a sham. everyone is cheating. I have been a huge college sports fan my whole life-40 years, but anymore this crap is getting so old, I am thinking its time to find a new past time.the NCAA is the king pen of the whole big lie college sports is becoming.i guess it alsways maybe has been, but now its really in our face. I see that baylor kid made inelligible for the loans...the NCAA has to make an example out of him immediately, yet Auburn, OSU, etc.play their big games, the NCAA makes huge cash, etc. etc just venting...sorry
  24. Soooo True. form the Jim rome show today...."Barry Bonds' Urine sample called and said the NCAA is dirty" The NCAA is the biggest joke of an organization.
