Actually there was never a top 20 streak spoken of because we beat #20 Michigan in 2005. I still think it's amazing because all those teams you listed never went 2-22 or 0-22 or whatever against good teams. They may have done it for 4 or 5 years, but not a decade. I'll gladly be proven wrong but I really doubt any traditional powerhouse was ever so consistently bad against top teams for so long. Until Today! Streak broken. Now lets get 2 in a row.

And let me say I am happy with the direction of the program. etc. I have no grand illusions we are going to win a NC real soon. I watched Osborne struggle mightily for 25 years before finally figuring it out, but, is there a pattern brewing with this Pelini staff at this point? Lets look at the last 5 losses in last 2 years 1. Va Tech on a last minute blown coverage . OK mistakes happen 2. ISU 9-7 with 8 fumbles , 4 or 5 in our redzone 3. b12 cg basically won, kunalic kicks the ball out of bounds followed by 2 big penalties, a second added, we lose 4. Texas 2010: we drop 3 VERY catchable td throws. yada yada about the line martinez, our o line etc. catch those balls and we get the W. T Tech is the only game where we haven't given ourselves a spectatcular ESPN highlight reel self inflicted gunshot to the head. Maybe game prep is different at home, I do not know but something is not lining up. Nebraska's biggest opponent is Nebraska! And for the first time since I have been following this team(35 years) our players don't play wellat home. We used to RARELY get beat at home, no team wanted to play in Lincoln...now.....I would rather the team travel. Just wondering what you think. Atleast in 07 when we were getting tarred and feathered, we could make sense of it. not so much now.

I was thinking kinda the same thing today but only by how wacky our losses have been in the last 2 years. I think the only team that beat us squarely in all of these losses the last year was TTech. We slit our own wrists time after time.Actually the only team that beats nebraska is NEBRASKA! All he has done is take questions all fall about what its like to lose the starting job to which he would answer " I have to be ready to play incase they need me, I do not have time to worry about starting" Now we all know he does, but that kid is a stud and great leader. he came in today whe we needed him and he played his ass off. he doesnt have the physical gifts some have, but he is a baller.

this game had an Iowa State '09 feel to it..no matter what we did we weren't going to win. we shot ourselves in the head repeatedly. for those of you at the game, you are going to vomit when you see the ease of the dropped passes and the 28 points they cost in slow motion on ESPN for the rest of the day. Texas has our number and we are their bitch. 1-9 against them in last 12 years. there I said it. sloppy football, penalties, fumbles, dropped td passes, piss poor reads, poor technique, d line, o-line. I could go on. And now we know why we havent passed all year..its not because we haven't had to, its because we cant if we have to. we can when we are up by 30 to a inferior defense. I just hope we can win out and try to get some kinda respect back in b 12 cg.

some of the radio stations here in KC are crying about NU thinking they are too good for b12, crybabies, blah blah blah, etc. all of the teams who would die for a ticket out of the big Texas conference.sooo sick of this. everyone forgets Texas, MU, OU, aTm, CU etc. started all of this.

yeah, Dr. Tom would be in his 80's? if you werent born before 1960, you wouldn't have a clue. I have heard that Minnesota-Nebraska used to be a big rivalry and Minnesota has like 6 National Championships way back when???doesnt exactly have me jonesin for meeting them every year in the big 10 now...the good ole days when NU and Minnesota meant something..I wasnt alive!

I watched the UCF/KSU game. UCF shut down Thomas cold. he had 75 yards against a small(250lbs average I believe) interior defensive line on 22 carries. By the 3rd quarter they were using Thomas as a decoy and trying to throw. KSU cannot throw the ball. I think we will blitz a lot, shut down Thomas, take away the run and make them pass. Game. set. match. UCF was in the red zone something like 4 or 5 times, missed 2 FG's, etc etc. they should have shelled KSU. I think Thomas would be awesone at an Iowa, Nebraska, etc. but not at KSU. At least against UCF, I WAS NOT impressed. I know Snyder will have the team up for the game, but If the team who showed up against Washington goes to Manhattan, I think we cover the spread.

that fumble would have been the biggest screw up since falling for the statue of liberty play against Boise State. More negative highlight reel video for ESPN for decades.what the hell was he thinking? What was with Demarco murray recovering that loose kickoff in the end zone and not taking a knee to end the play? I never saw him take a knee but the whistle got blown....I thought he could have been tackled for a safety....

I was im pressed with OU. they have a balanced offense and good defense. With our performance against SDSU fresh in my mind, we hopefully can develope more of a balanced offense. we will need it. I think OU against our secondary is going to be a great match up. particularly if we can get pressure up front. Table is set for a NU OU big 12 Championship assuming we both take care of our business. that would be as the last game of the Big 12. The press would eat that up.

I saw him and he looks a lot smaller now than back then. It always looked to me like he had his helmet painted on his head he was so big. Who knows what was going on back then I just remember this guy as ONE...BAD.....DUDE! GREAT HUSKER.

I watched the KSU game today. UCF had 2 small frehman tackles who eliminated Thomas and KSU's running game. In the end the only thing that saved KSU's bacon was they used Thomas as a decoy. If we go in there pumped up, I expect a good ole country 80's fashioned ass whooppin.

Up until 6:01, I was giddy about what I saw of KSU and TU, then as the evening went on, went back to concerned. I do think we play down to our opponents, I think we will have a coming out in Manhattan and against TU, but that was horrendous tonight. In another thread I thanked UCF and UCLA for exposing KSU and TU weaknesses, Ill go ahead and throw SDSU into that thank you list.

We just need to take care of our business.....but wow a lot of bad kharma out there today for Texas, Alabame(for the moment)....gotta say though, the thought of NU having 12 days to prep for KSU (who played horrendous today )and another 8-9 days for Texas at home has me licking my chops! Thank you UCF and UCLA for exposing weakness and giving us a lot of film to break down...

I am watching it too. I wanted to see how K-State would be playing a fast Florida team. Needless to say I agree, K-State looks pretty bad at Home. I am sure they will show up for us though, just not sure what they will do after that? WOW Words can't describe how bad KSU looks. talk about their weaknesses being our strengths. It should be 28-0 right now. 2 freshmen 250 lb lineman have taken away their run game and D TTrain. no pass game, their D getting slashed between the tackles with a running QB. IF CFU could close, this would be a route. I know KSU will be up for us...but wow! nothing they do looks good.

Down here in KC, all the KU fans are crawdaddin about what they said last week about Gill, saying they are eating crow and should have never doubted Gill, bla bla, bla....they had 46K at the game and tix were going for $5 out front! All week here was rough for KU fans. KU did look MUCH better and congrrats to Turner Gill for sure...but GT did not play that well, particularly on defense. a lot of arm tackles, etc. they must have bought into their own hype and looked past KU. they just didnt look that good. there was a graphic that KU was 2-140 at home against top 25 teams. They had one of their best and worst losses in program history in a week period. lots of head scratchin going on...

I have only listened to the games and have not watched... it seems like we are very inconsistent on both sides of the ball. At #7, we should be owning these teams. for those of you who are there, maybe we are just getting a lot of guys reps??? It seems like our interior defense is maybe a little weaker than I expected, lots of penalties today(away from the play) inconsistent offense play...I am just a little unsettled.

Boise State either needs to join a real conference, or become an independent and play a real schedule. Nebraska might lose to Boise State if they played in a bowl game. But that's partially because Nebraska fought through the Big 12. Nebraska has to deal with a season of getting beat up, overcoming injuries, etc etc on a weekly basis. Boise State plays 1 big game like Texas will be, 1 game about like Washington will be, and then a bunch of Western Kentucky's. Of course they'll be able to give any BCS conference team a good shot when they can sit their starters in the 2nd half for 10/12 games in the regular season. If they were to form an 8 team playoff, I don't even think Boise State would deserve a shot at that over 8 BCS conference teams. Like I said, play a real schedule, then they can play for championships. Until then, forgetaboutit. You are quite arrogant. I would bet Boise St. could beat most of the Big 12. I see only texas and maybe oklahoma being close games. I couldn't say for certain we could beat Boise St. Maybe last year when we had Suh. No one wants to play Boise St cause it's not an easy win. No team wants an early loss that might knock them out of the ncg. I agree Boise State can beat most the big 12. buts lets get them in there just to make sure..and put this argument to bed. then we can spend time arguing about something else!
