  1. Our OL needs to make the DL at least think they’re trying to block them. At least bump them on occasion. Our screens don’t look anything remotely close to a well run one. The DL is usually on our QB before he even gets a chance to throw it.
  2. He’s far from slow, in fact a little slower. might help him overrun a few less plays. And when in position he makes pretty good plays. But, if he is in fact slow and weak, then why was he covering Indiana’s best wide receiver one one Saturday. Coaches must not think he’s slow.
  3. I said he has the physical attributes of a LB but lacks fundamentals and discipline. Last I looked, when they list the physical traits of a player, like speed or size, I’ve never seen weightlifting listed.
  4. That’s what is getting frustrating. Just because you question (or criticize if you will) the coach and staff doesn’t mean you’re calling for any or all of them to be fired. Just that you are questioning some of the decisions.
  5. Who said anything about weightlifters? Or is that just another one of your cutesy replies when you don’t have anything relevant to say.
  6. Except that Mo Barry absolutely does have the ability to play at an all conference level. But his fundamentals and discipline are non existent. Half the plays the offfense doesn’t even need to block him because he takes himself out of the play. Maybe he doesn’t have the mental ability to be at that level, that we can’t tell by watching, but the physical attributes are there.
  7. Maybe he’s been watching Mo Barry too much! Bad angles and over pursuit. Seriously though, I think he’ll learn to control the emotions and the motor and play aggressively and under control. The kid really plays fired up. He does need a lot work with the hands in order to get off blocks better, when blockers get into him he seldom can get disengaged. But one one thing is for certain, he’s a smart, extremely coachable kid who will work his tail off doing what the coaches say in order to get better. And he’s a leader (or will be as he gets older). It seems that along with Wandale we have a really good foundation in that area.
  8. He slowed up noticeably several times just before contact. Im not dogging on the kid by any means, I thought he did great and has a great future. It just concerns me because that is when guys really get belted.
  9. Can’t disagree. That’s why I wish we wouldn’t worry so much about playing fast all the time. Really efficient “fast” teams are extremely well disciplined. They don’t set up in illegal formations and have numerous false starts. At this point I’d be all for slowing down just a bit so everyone is on the same page. I’d rather slowly go four yards, four yards, four yards as opposed to seven yards, back five, no gain, and four yards. Unfortunately we seem to do a lot of the latter, especially just when it seems we’re starting to put something together.
  10. McCaffrey worries me a little bit running. He’s a little timid going into contact. Slows up, kind of like AM has been doing this year. It’s a good way to really get hammered. Hopefully as his confidence grows he’ll attack the defender a little more......or just slide. Just don’t slow up and stand up. He’s also only in his second year asa full time QB, the Valor QB his junior year I believe went to Stanford. His growth as a QB could (and probably will) really explode. But in the meantime, or until AM is ready, I’m comply comfortable with Vedral taking the snaps. I don’t know what happened on the fumble play, missed assignment or just a case of them having the perfect defensive play call ((that does happen on occasion too)), but I can’t think of too many QB’s who could have escaped that. He was on him so quickly, the ball hitting his knee was one of those things that just happen. But I think he can run our offense just fine.
  11. Tough time reading? You won’t, and haven’t, seen me say a thing about firing. Simply saying that sometimes you can’t always do exactly what you want, the way you want to do it, every game. Stubbornness sometimes is akin to the definition of insanity. Sometimes you have to adapt or change. And in regards to the past firings, which ones were not the right decisions? Seems the hiring has been the issue.
  12. And if your defense has shown they can’t stop the other team’s offense, and you’re down to your 3rd string QB, is it maybe time to not go so much tempo? Maybe give them a couple less possessions, maybe we commit a couple less false starts or illegal formations? The thing to me is, what we’re doing isn’t working. At least try to do something different. Change something. Yes, talent of the staff.
  13. So it’s lack of talent that makes teams commit stupid penalties. Over and over again? So it’s our lack of talent that puts our middle linebacker. I said middle, not an outside guy, one on one against the other team’s best wide receiver? Out in space. Its lack of talent that we dont don’t bring any extra pressure on their mediocre QB until late in the game. Because keeping our talentless back 7 back there covering for five or six seconds is always a recipe for success.
  14. Looking at the players on the field. Does anyone think we aren’t more talented than Indiana? How much more are are we going to hear “wait til,he gets his players here”. At some point the staff has to coach, plan, and playcall effectively.
  15. Maybe it was the same official who called the Indiana pass complete in the first half when it so obviously hit the ground. Twice. With the official standing 10’ away with a perfect view looking right at it.
  16. We are just flat out completely outschemed on defense.
  17. Lamar doesn’t think that was PI? That’s going to be the new video that demonstrates what PI is.
  18. They’re completely selling out on the run. PA would probably be wide open. Have to trust McCaffery now.
  19. Instead of trying to be so damn multiple, I wish we’d get to be proficient at a few things.
