  1. Unfortunately they are a package deal. Would this staff have benched him after his 5th interception?
  2. There is plenty of improvement, penalties have gone down, turnovers were only on our Qb, the defense is better, much better. Recruiting is MUCH better. The future is bright at DONU!
  3. Miami was absolutely embarrassing us for most of the game. It wasn't until complacency and bone headed penalties that let us back into the game. It was much like the Michigan State comeback last season.
  4. Ganz didn't make it in the NFL, so why are you using him as a measuring stick? He threw his fair share of picks too.
  5. Schwinn doesn't make anything nice now...they are owned by Pacific cycle who makes garbage Walmart bikes. At least get him a Cervelo, Cannondale or Felt! I have been very critical of the staff as well... Not so much in the last 2 games with the exception of the last 2 minutes of the first half and the beginning of the 3rd quarter against Rutgers. A 7-6 finish for how things went this year would be great.
  6. Those in the know said any monkey could get nine wins at Nebraska with the talent they had and an easier schedule this year. So there is that... Many will agree that at least 4 of our losses rest squarely on the coaches shoulders for poor clock management, and play calling in the final crucial moments at the end of games.
  7. Sure you can. In 1997, there were games where 9 out of the 11 offensive starters were from Nebraska. We won a lot of games that year.
  8. Correct. See 2012 for LSU vs. Alabama. To me that game was a scam...
  9. Add a rule that you cannot be part of the 8 if you lost to one of the other 7. No. Please explain your reasoning why not. My logic is you already had a shot at that team and failed. Also think of the team that already played and beat that team and how it is very difficult to beat a team twice in the same season. To me, it is rewarding the LOSER.

  11. It's sad that some people actually believe crap like this. It's also very sad that some people have not been watching the games very closely. I am not going to go into all of the bad decision making that has cost us SEVERAL games this year. This fact is not even up for debate. With that being said, I'll take a close win to Rutgers!
  12. Putting Mike Grant in the same catagory as Lord is laughable. There are only a couple QB's that have started games (in recent history) that are on the level of Grant. Dailey, Green, and maybe Turman. Keithen McCant..Mickey Joseph. Are you actually saying Keithen McCant wasn't any good? The guy led the team to a Big 8 title, was All-Conference, and Conference Offensive Player of the Year. http://www.scout.com/college/nebraska/story/1197512-husker-look-back-better-late-than-never?s=204 No. To clarify. Grant, McCant, and Joseph all seemed to blur together for me before Frazier. Some good play, injuries, and some not so great play.

  14. People constantly forget that he was a pick six machine at times. A healthy Taylor Martinez was better in my opinion and there were many other QBs better than him. Crouch, Frazier, Steve Taylor, Frost, Gill just to name a few.
  15. I have never called out the players. In fact, I cannot believe the heart and effort the players have given despite some questionable coaching schemes and decisions. Most if not all of the negativity was placed upon the coaches...
  16. So the walkons have no talent? Are you saying Janovish isn't more talented than a lot of scholarship players on other teams? Silly statement. "End of story" makes it even more comical/ There are always exceptions. Walkons have talent. But do they have enough talent to win a championship? Win against teams like Ohio State or Alabama? If you haven't noticed the teams that recruit top classes every year are the ones winning championships. How many of the 97 team who had at least one start were from Nebraska?
  17. True but neither is sitting there complaining and wringing your hands and bitching. The idea is to put the stinking fire out -safely and quickly but smartly - figure out what started the fire and how to avoid future fires by ridding ourselves of the flammable materials and the ignition sources. the point is to be constructive and positive by recognizing things are not as they should be and working in a positive manner to help the program get better in the future. Many of us look at it as ADSE hired a poor electrician and our house in now currently on fire due to faulty wiring. The electrician is not going to get this put out... We will all continue to root for our team and will our players to victory.
  18. The coaching staff also has to not be a handicap...
  19. LeKevin Smith I will add for sure. Adams probably, Bradley maybe. Yes, you were indeed trying to point something out...and it appears with inaccurate and biased data...
  20. This is just it, if next year is to be successful, if we are to buy in that when Riley gets his guys in here we will be better, then that puts quite a bit of pressure on Patrick O'Brien and the rest of the incoming freshmen. So, really, how much better will next year be when we are trying to start a bunch of freshmen? Then if next year is just as bad and the administration does decide to let Riley go, then now we have a bunch of players suited for one system, running another system. Coach gets fired, players are wrong for the new system...new coach gets fired, his recruits are wrong for the next head, and on and on it goes. That is why we probably need to find out next guy now. Someone who is going to be in this for the long haul and not looking to retire in a few seasons. We need someone who is willing to bring back a traditional blue collar work ethic. We as fans will also need to be patient once we actually find the right guy. Riley is NOT the right guy. We all knew this deep down once the decision was announced. Many made excuses that he didn't have the right resources in Corvallis etc. etc. etc. ...JUST. STOP. Look at where we are at, and where we are going. The type of offensive philosophy they are trying to put into place was not successful with a better recruiter at the helm. Didn't work then...NOT going to work now.
  21. It would be the only way he would have any semblance of credibility, but I say he's basically Callahan, so he's going to do the same thing Callahan did when Cosgrove was an unmitigated disaster as a D-coordinator....absolutely nothing. He's going to be a stubborn A-hole and keep his buddies and give the Husker fans a big giant F-YOU In all fairness Cosgrove's defenses were not an abomination until the team was lost midway through 2007. Remember the patchwork defense we had against Michigan without any of our starting LB's? Let's be fair, he did a fair job most of the time.
  22. The depressing thing is this current staff is NOT going to change a thing. Even if we pull in a highly ranked class, they are still incoming Freshman unless we get JUCO. We are in for a similar season next year and nothing ever better than the last regime's average season.
  23. So we are classy losers? Reminds me of a scene from Young Frankenstein... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUifcQ3QO_k
