  1. And look what that has done for Davison. He probably has a lifetime job in the husker booth, all that for one catch that left us so enamored with him. Hope Westerkamp gets half the recogniton for his play today!
  2. I give lots of credit to the coach that had Ron enter the game! His proior possesion I believe, ended with an interception(not sure however). I would assume it is Beck's call, does not matter whoever made that last drive call needs a huge pat on the back!
  3. The team should gain some confidence in todays win! That means so much with a young team. As for gameball, that is a tough one. Ameer made an ubelievable run to gain the first down to give us a chance. The defense had huge stops, especially the one at the goal line at the end! That meant everything. All these things led up to the unreal play by kellogg and westerkamp! Which was unbelievable! That will certainly be the ESPN play of the week or even year! It was a TEAM EFFORT!!!!!!!
  4. So much of a team is HOW THEY RESPOND to the QB. Armstrong did what I have worried about (unable to always read a Big 10 defense) and interceptions happen. But, it is good too see a QB drop back, stay in protection and release the ball in a timely fashion. I am a huge supporter of taylor, he has seemed to overread a defense and is afraid of making mistakes (which leads to more mistakes) The O line needs to know where the QB is going to be when he does drop back in pass formation, I am not sure they always knew that with Taylor. Taylor has not been healthy since the first game, that has made him reluctant to run or throw. We just can't have that at this point in the season. I wish the QB's luck they have filled a "role" this season.
  5. The offense has not looked in "sync" all season with Taylor. I would have liked to have seen what the other 2 qb's may have done. However, with that said our O line got their sh*t handed to them all day by the gopher D line. Hard to throw the ball from your a** all day.
  6. how many other coaches that you can name completly blow up on the sideline at assistants? who WOULD want to work under him? I think Bo does lots of things the right way BUT he treats the media like a jackass and on gameday his assistants as well. Maybe we miss Carl more than we think. Seems a couple of years ago the defense could and would make adjustments that worked. (with lots of help from the names of Suh, Gomes, David and countless others) we can't make any game adjustments on offense or defense that seem to help. Bo is very loyal to his players but it is time to try Armstrong or Kellogg at Qb and I have been one of the few Martinez backers last year and this year. He is hurt and he just simply will not drop straight back and throw the slant or seam pattern that the other 2 do so well. Things have just spiraled out of control and I don't think Bo can stop the momentum from crushing him. Kind of like the old saying "you made your bed, you lie in it" I don't like to see us go through another HC but the time has come at the end of this year to look again.
  7. Sorry but our Special teams play has been lacking this year! Kick and punt coverage is horrid, way to many returns brought past the 40. Our kicker needs to kick it out of the endzone everytime or the huge returns just seem to happen! I would say we have "better" special teams than anyone at this point.
  8. I am all for the gloves! But, will it help the receivers start catching the easy passes????? It is killing us to date.
  9. no way, it may set them back some as some recruits are going to change their minds. THEY WILL NOT DROP FOOTBALL! What would replace the revenue, football probably pays for all the other sports just as nebraska does
  10. When are we going to recruit kids who can catch? Taylor has thrown some good passes and nobody seems to be able to make a simple catch! Don't mind the playing calling so far we just need to execute.
  11. they will probably come out "fired up" and very emotional. That can only take you so far. Nothing beats proper preperation and planning. The huskers need to get through the first quarter and then pound the piss out of them. We really need to step up on defense and play like we did against MSU. I look for a husker victory by 8 points ( I hope)
  12. Wow the youtube video shows plenty to be concerned about. Appears it happens on campus at a frat house. The OSU fans probably should not be going to places that you would not feel safe. As far as 2002, we had some friends who attended the game in "happy valley" and stated they "feared" for their safety. In the stadium as well as out on the campus! They were greeted by heckling and beers being thrown at them just walking to the stadium. The "few" do speak volumes as to what to expect! I would have no desire to attend a game with this kind of atmosphere!
  13. Glad you "Bo's gotta go" are'nt the Athletic director! Who do you want ! Urban Meyer said no once, he would probably say NO again. Bo will be fine.
  14. Fans were flat for most of the game and so was the team! Big game last week for fans and the team, I understand the players being a bit out of focus but the fans have no excuse. As many thought Burkhead should have been taken out against MichSt with 7 minutes left to rest for this week. He was not of course, even after he tweaked his ankle. Running the ball 35 times is a bit much and expecting him to be the same the next week is just not going to happen. We need to FOCUS on PState and move on from this game
  15. I agree that Erstad will not get the job. However I do believe a few years back he donated what amounted to $1 million dollars to the athletics account! Big money. Not sure of his name but I say we go after VanHornes assistant at Arkansas. O'Connor would be a great hire but afraid it is going to take lots of cash to lure him away. Surprised that Tom made this announcement but it is past due. Mike always came across as an "arrogant prick" whenever I heard him do an interview.
  16. It's a one point win, at home, against a team with a first year/ first time college head coach. Let's not lose one's head over this "win" No, lets not but this is an important win early in league for us. You can not I repeat CAN NOT lose these close games at home. Cy has to be really impressed with his teams shot selection (or lack of) late in the game! ha pathetic! We really have to make the free throws at a higher percent however. Missed some chances around the 3 minute mark. Congrats guys! We will take this win
  17. After some very important missed free throw chances around the 3 minute mark, the huskers rallied late and won what I think, is an important game for them. Nothing like starting the league 1-0. halfway to last seasons league victory total. Several of the huskers played pretty well tonight. good luck doc
  18. He's had a great season this year. The trap blocks in the 4th quarter had to have him smiling! Looked good tonight!
  19. Obviously the team did NOT want to be in San Diego last night! Neither did the fans, no one I know of was even looking forward to watching this game. Sad day in Big Red Country. Team and fans both sucked last night. Can we not find a QB that can throw anything but a lob to the sideline? I think we tried 2 passes to the middle of the field last night. What a joke. I wish I could understand why we have not put Zak Lee in a couple of these games this year. He IS our best passer and we sure as hell could have used him last night. Offense has no rythym whatsoever the past 4 games!
  20. Huskers looked sluggish. We just never got in a rhythm. When we needed to go the offensive, Licht seemed to let up on her swing. Werth played a great game at the net and in the backrow but her serving just killed us at times. How in the hell do you hit as many serves out as we did last night. I really thought we would get past last night and have a very tough match against Cal in the finals!
  21. Are you certain it will be with "us" that he will be "special"? Lots of rumors on his departure, of which I hope are not true. But did you ever think last night that someone else should have gotten a chance?
  22. Yea yea I know he is only a "freshman" but he looked totally clueless and many times all year in the passing game! His footwork is pathetic and he "locks" in on one receiver! He is growing but last night he should have been growing from the sidelines. I am not so sure why Bo thinks sitting him on the bench is going to destroy his confidence, what happened last night is a confidence destroyer. Zac Lee if we were going to "throw" the ball gives us the best chance to win, period! Would Cody have looked or played worse? He has had problems in some appearances but a change was needed on offense, badly. I guess I am just not as enamored with a "wounded" QB as Bo and Wats are. We are playing big games trying "not to lose" and that outlook on offense has not worked for the past 2 years. Our defense can not always make the plays, it is expecting way too much from them. Last night was just another steps backwards on offense!
  23. Damn, All he is saying is that "he thinks we should have blitzed on 3rd and 24! Maybe he is right, maybe not. He never once blamed the defense for losing the game!
  24. the kid is a "prima-dona" nobody likes him better than himself. Which for QB's is not always a bad thing. The problem with him texting or calling his dad at halftime at A-M is that is illegal! Bo was pissed because this is a violation. Plain and simple! The NCAA is very very careful with players or coaches having any outside contact once the game starts! Vegas does set a "halftime" line on games. They want nothing to do with a player contacting anyone and I mean anyone at halftime! i think he acts like a 5 year old but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He has always acted "disconnected" with things on the sideline and his teammates! I do hope he stays and I think he will.
  25. The Big 12 should be done in 3-4 years. The SEC is probably going to grow to 16. The pac 10 the same. I think the Big 10 may only add Notre Dame and one other (let's hope it is not Texas) and I doubt it would be them. They can not throw their weight around with those schools. We are going to see some major re-alignment coming soon. Glad NU took the offer that we got from the Big 10. Great move for academics as well as athletics!
