  1. I went to a coaching clinic a few years ago and heard Bo speak about his "Eleven Keys to Success" How many of these eleven keys were missing in the last month of games, or even in the past 7 years? 1. Effort – Clearly defined expectation with beginning and end 2. Accountability – personally accountable to team to correct mental errors, minimize mistakes on the field and beyond ---- in school, at home, in community 3. Attitude - Hold each other responsible for a positive attitude 4. Work Ethic – Be who you are all the time 5. Fundamentals – hands, feet, eyes 6. Knowledge – know the what, how and why to apply to a new situation 7. Consistency – use mistake to teach but expect perfection 8. Teach – Players build pictures of concepts 9. Fix You – Look to correct what you can control 10. Create a Mindset – of effort, striving for excellence 11. Pride – take it personally when someone beats you, but offer no excuses
  2. Hell naw! That dude makes me want to punch myself in the face. Yeah but he has a hot wife. Didn't Danny Nee have a hot wife? Just sayin', that didn't end up too well, IIRC, yes? First, Bielema's wife is hot. Second, Danny Nee won a Big Eight tournament title, made the NCAA tournament six times, recruited NBA caliber players and had a good career. Let's not disrespect Danny Nee.
  3. I read the whole article at ljs. Price mentioned the defensive shifts, and the blitzing from different angles. It made me think of an idea --- Huddle, call a play, come to the line and snap the ball. Don't stand there moving the back to the right or left, waiting for the OC to read the D, waggle in a new play only to see the D shift into something different as the play clock ticks down. Just sayin'...
  4. So what did we learn today? 1. The win over Michigan was actually a good win. All those who said Michigan sucked should delete their posts 2. The win over Penn State was a good win. Delete those posts 3. Alabama just got beat because their special teams are horrendous. They'll probably still play for a national championship 4. All those rumors about Jim Tressel must have been wrong. 5. Let's support Bo and the Huskers. Stick together in all kinds of weather.
  5. That's what I'm saying tough. Don't take the chance. Just push him out of bounds. Don't blast him, but in this game,if you didn't hear a whistle, you still play. That's how it used to be anyway. Trust me, this wouldn't be the first time I've seen Huskers standing around and quitting before the play was over. I guess I would need to know if he heard a whistle. Other than that he has no reason to be letting up on a play based off of what he "thinks" "might" have happened. I think Cooper tried to give him a shove, but the PSU guy was pretty big, and Cooper hit him at the wrong moment, with his outside leg planted and the guy kind of stiff armed Coop away. On another note --- how bout those Broncos?
  6. The piped in music stops at around 17 seconds left on the play clock at Memorial Stadium. I noticed other teams doing it on TV broadcasts, with many of the same songs. Remember back in the day, a Kansas St quarterback complained to the ref that the crowd was too loud, and we got flagged for a 5 yard penalty? Those were the days!
  7. Yeah, five turnovers lose the game. But on the touchback, the thing I saw in the stadium was the sidejudge run to the goal line with his hat off. Did a Spartan step out of bounds and then was the first to touch the ball to down it? They talked for a while but never really explained the call.
  8. A GREAT BIG RED WEEKEND!!! That Michigan win was sweet. The Soccer team was in the B1G tournament and beat Iowa for the tournament championship on the Illinois campus after clinching the regular season championship by beating Indiana on Nov 1. The only bummer was the defending national champion women's bowling team ended up second to Arkansas St at the 14 team Crusader Classic at Valpariso. GO BIG RED!!!!
  9. I was at that OSU game, and I remember most of the crowd waiting for the team to leave, and then as the refs ran off the field under the South Stadium showering the refs with LOUD BOOING. I really think that the refs were the target of most the boos, not Bo or the team. After the game I heard that the boos corresponded to Bo running off after his halftime interview. I couldn't see that from my seat. The whole Bo reaction was to the fans booing the refs.
  10. The big problem was how the offense couldn't get over this play. It stuck in their craw, they said after the game. It took them out of sync. They needed to be ready for the next possession. It's the next play that counts. This is a problem. Overcome adversity.
  11. No, tackling by Wiscy offensive linemen was allowed all night. Not that it really mattered after a while
  12. Relax everybody. Been there done that. Many times this season, of course there was that OU game in the B12 CCG a few years back that also looks familiar. Oh snap!!!! Taylor Martinez is AWESOME!!!!
  13. That was cold. There was a game in '88 or '89 where they literally had to keep plowing he field regularly because the snow was coming down that hard. I agree with caveman- I was trying to peg that game down- I lean towards it being 88- I was in college at that game decked out in all my duck hunting cammo- cold and snowy. Wasn't OU '88 the all red uni's and protect this house and jangling the keys and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"? That game wasn't cold. It just ended bad.
  14. It was so cold the restrooms in the upstairs corners of the east stadium were locked because they were frozen. It was black Friday, and I got up at 5:00 AM to buy some new insulated boots.
