  1. Been reading a lot on here and it's pretty much all i can do to sum it up.
  2. Before the north stadium reno, wasnt their speakers along with each of the huskervision boards as well as abotu the north side scoreboard, allowing equal sound to all parts of the stadium? It's full understandable with all the speakers in the north when you crank up enough for the south to hear, you deafen the north. As for the tunnel walk, i thought it was good, but a little short as well, but that says one thing, they have a special addition planned for the oct 16 edition, probably similar to what they added for ou last year.
  3. No worries, just like last season it's gonna take a couple 3 games for the staff to see what combinations and schemes work the best with this year's personnel. Remember it wasnt until the Missouri that the D really jumped on the map.
  4. Before you get all blown up over this issue, have you know that a couple of students were sitting behind and kept bringing up that Lee was nursing a sore foot or something, i dont how much we could lead into that, but who knows, we know how well this coaching staff can keep secrets. Other fact is mayby Zac's rehab didnt go so well afterall. Maybe he had a bad week of practice and lost out. I will say this, the qb battle is going to continue beyond the Washington game, who know's maybe Zac comes out like a gangbuster next week and Taylor or Cody have a couple bad practices. Just like Newcombe and Crouch in 99, it's gonna take a few games to figure out who completes the right combination.
  5. thank you thank you thank you. That puts the nail on the head. Now everyone who's WORRIED about the d can shutup. When they play with urgency you have the first 2 series (3 and outs)
  6. heard three different callers say they thought cos was back on big red reaction. These people need to put the crack pipe down, put the cap on the bottle and go to bed, wake up, and punch themselves in the face.
  7. My first assessment, i think some of the neggys on here need to calm down and take the stupid hats off. The D we saw on the first two series-fast, attacking, and crisp-is the one we'll see throughout the year. As the game moved forward and t.o.p. became quite lopsided cuz we had quick scoring drives followed by some 3 and outs, fatigue started to play a factor. What i saw was abosolutely no complexity in the defense whatsoever, and why should there be. Why should we open the book to shutout western kentucky, some of you would have nothing to complain about then. Then younger inexperienced players began to get some time. Lastly, that is not a team that has lost however many games in a row, they are better than that.
  8. Boom, DUN. You must be new, this b******* just does not fly here. WEAR RED, BE LOUD.
  9. How the heck is Pelini listed WITH Saban and Mushchamp? Isnt it obvious Bo's doing MORE with, by all means NOT inferior, but less talent?
  10. Or YOU could just scroll down if YOU dont want to read it. I enjoyed the WHOLE thing.
  11. Honestly from a recruiting standpoint this makes all the sense in the world. He was asked what they could do to help the most. That's it, start by guaranteeing who the coach will be for a few years. All this talk throughout every season of coaching changes is doing the most harm to the program. Either stand up and say Hawkins is the coach more make the damn change already so the program can get moving forward. Now with all this said, I hate Colorado and I am loving what is going on over there.
  12. Solich's first 3 seasons of success (4 if you count 2001, tho i consider that season the beginning of the end) were mostly due to the talent remaining from the Osborne era. 98 was a mediocre season due to youth, inexperience and some key injuries, new qb etc etc. Remember the 99 and 2000 recruiting classes were not particularly impressive and quite a downfall in the talent coming in. Many scholarships were used up on walk on caliber talent cuz Solich could not "seal the deal" with top notch talent. By the end of 2001 and into the 2002 season, this lack of talent adn depth began to rear it's ugly face. I think some of the older coaches were beginning to struggle with the lack of talent (darlington, bohl, etc.) and the time came for them to go. Solich made the necassary changes after 2002 and 2003 showed a re energized coaching staff and team. Tho 2002 was doomed fromt he get go with a very VERY young team, it meant the 03 shoulda been better. I believe under Solich that what was a veteran 04 team woulda been a top ten team all year long, however that team looked horrible under a new system. Bottome line is we'll never what woulda been under Solich to this day. With Pelini as D.C. i think we woulda been a top 10 team consistently.
  13. The issue is Suh's incredible strength. Call him a thug all you want, but when the adrenaline is pumping, he has no control over his strength which is far superior to anyone ive seen. I can't remember what game it was last year when he launched a quarterback 5 yards back in the air just by "shoving" but it looked so much worse cuz of how strong Suh it.
  14. Thank them for speculating that we Nebraska fans could fail at continuing to be the classiest around against Texas this year with the crap goin on.
  15. dont forget the non catch for a td a play later when the receiver trapped it, tho it was not as obvious as the out of bounds catch, it was still disgusting.
  16. Personally i think everyones just goin nuts right now. with only 3 weeks to go, people are so hard up for the most aniticipated season in recent memory that this stuff, which is probably the norm and takes a back seat, is now in the frontlight just for something to talk about. No one's gonna give a darn anymore about media access when we're leading WKU 45-0 at halftime.
  17. I read a national sports article somewhere i cant recall, and i cant get the link, but Brion Carnes was stated as possibly turning out to be the biggest recruiting steal in recent memory, that it was a crime he was not as highly tauted as some others.
  18. 16 17 looks about right, i just remember that big mob of cheering red people in the middle of all the sleeping purple people, the ones that were still there anyway.
  19. I would say Texas and Oklahoma St., really those are the only two teams left that have not been reminded what it's really like to play us after our 8 year trip to mediocrity
  20. If they make the east like the west, this place is going to be even more of a sound machine. My land, it could be Arrowheadish.
  21. It's the damn agents. Bigger the contract, the more they get. So fill their head full of crap. Agents. Damn Agents
  22. Here's one, 1993, after a long Corey Dixon punt return and a 4 yard TD run by Calvin Jones on first play.
