  1. I understand where you're coming from but if you revisit the timeline of media stories that were written from that weekend on, Perlman's public disapproval of Pelini gave the national media more ammo to pitch in their own 2 cents on the matter. Immediately after the game, no one outside of Texas and Nebraska was blowing up Pelini's sideline antics into headline news on a national scale. Once Perlman went public on Sunday afternoon, national writers were lining up just to pile it on. Sure, maybe the Big 12 would've reprimanded Bo had Perlman not done so, but then again, maybe not? We'll never know. But I think Bo would've rather been publicly reprimanded by Beebe than his own administration. +1
  2. Very nice post Mosnowman. Good luck to you also.
  3. Toradol shots work amazingly well. In the 4th quarter it probably started to wear off. http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2009/oct/04/painkillersa-big-and-unregulated-part-of-college/
  4. It's ridiculous that you felt the need to write this email. Asinine actually. Do you not think the Athletic Department is in his good hands? If Tom Osborne feels a change should be made I am sure he would speak with Coach Pelini. But ultimately that is a decision that Coach Pelini has to make. If your going to send an asinine email it should have been sent to Coach Pelini.
  5. +1,000! Great post! Where was the play action passes with a run/pass optionn for Martinez? Play to the kid's strengths. If you watch this video we ran a play action pass to McNeil that Taylor looked great in! The play action pass comes at the 1:47 mark: http://www.huskers.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?&db_oem_id=100&id=738883&DB_MENU_ID=&SPSID=&SPID=&DB_OEM_ID=100 Watson NEVER ran it again!!!!??????
  6. Scott Frost looked "clueless" against Arizona State when Nebraska lost 19-0. The next year Husker "Fans" booed Scott Frost. Then he won a National Championship. Get a grip. He is only a Redshirt Freshman. He learned a ton from that tough loss and will only get better.
  7. That is a bunch of junk. YOU are full of it and don't know what you are talking about. First of all Taylor's biological Mom abandoned the family when he was 13. His Father went into a bad depression and Taylor stepped up and helped take care of his little brothers. The first move was because his Father got a new job. Taylor had to move with his Dad. The second move was because Taylor's Step-Mom was sick and put on bed rest during her pregnancy. Taylor's family moved so he could take his little brothers to school that was closer to Centennial High School! http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/nebraska-quarterback-taylor-martinez-has-magic-touch-101510 Grow up and act like Nebraska Fans. You guys are disgusting!
  8. Yes he was upset. He was playing hurt tonight and he gave it everything he had. He will learn and grow from this.
  9. I hope you don't post this kind of crap again.
  10. Honestly he doesn't look that OK, he did not look like he was taking those snaps at game tempo at all. Very relaxed, very little movement and footwork. I'm no expert though so maybe it is just me. And if he was practicing with the ones, I didn't see evidence for it in this video. They showed two clips at the end there of Taylor throwing passes. The first clip, the ball was thrown to #1 Khiry Cooper, with #85 KC Hyland also appearing in the route. The second clip soon after showed D-Tray #27 in the backfield with Taylor; the pass was thrown to Kinnie, with SJB #83 also in the picture. I think there's some rotating around during the practices among all available QBs though, between the various units and maybe some rotation with the other players (as Kinnie/SJB would imply, but who knows - I don't know who the other starting WR will be this week unless it's #9 again). So I don't know if Taylor not working with the ones would mean anything right now. Cool vid, though. The fact that he is able to practice reveals that he is "ok". Without seeing him run there is no way to tell 100% how effective he is. Maybe Nebraska did this on purpose to throw off Oklahoma. The second pass was completed to Brandon Kinnie, so I assumed he was with the ones. I watched it again and saw Tray in the backfield with him, but I also believe there is alot of rotation in practice.
  11. In this video you can clearly see Taylor Martinez practicing with the ones. http://www.huskers.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=738414&afid=10912 He looks ok. Don't see him run or cut though.
  12. Someone needs to file an inquiry under the "Freedom of Information Act" to get a copy of these so called "death threats".
  13. While these stories do not excatly contradict the bad stories we have heard, they do seem unlike the arrogant guy the bad stories have made him out to be. Great to hear and I'm glad he is there for the fans when they need him to be. Exactly.
  14. All I know is that when Frost was playing for the Green Bay Packers Bo Pelini was the linebackers coach. So, when Frost went in to Pelini's office, to inquire about working for him, Pelini and Frost already had some kind of history. I just think Coach Pelini already had his staff lined up and it was nothing personal against Frost.
  15. I think this post gives a little bit of perspective on Taylor Martinez. I have seen alot of people making assumptions about Taylor's character. Well here is a positive story about the kid. http://www.huskermax.com/vbbs/showthread.php?11147-I-saw-TM-this-morning...
  16. Coaches don't drop passes. We also have some of the best blocking receivers in the country. At Nebraska it is actually just as important to be a great blocker. Coach Pelini promoted Coach Gilmore to Assistant Head Coach in 2008. He is also the Recruiting Coordinator and doing a fantastic job. Coach Pelini is not going to be firing anyone.
  17. Coach Pelini had way more experience than Frost does at this point in his career. Pelini had been in the National Football League for 9 years before he was hired to be Defensive Coordinator at Nebraska.
  18. Frost is not a candidate. He hasn't even been an Offensive Coordinator yet!
  19. If Texas wins another National Championship it will only help them in recruiting. We compete with them for recruits. With Turner Gill at Kansas now it's going to get alot more competitive for Texas recruits. Texas practically has their pick of recruits now and if they win another National Championship it will make it that much harder for Nebraska. Nebraska destroyed Arizona. The National Media has been having a love fest over Suh. We have gotten tons of positive press. Noone is going to think Nebraska is a worse team if Texas loses to Alabama. I despise Texas and always want them to lose. Go Big Red!
  20. Coach Cotton has had to alot of shuffling of the offensive line with injuries this year. Hickman has played hurt all year. Marcel Jones and DJ Jones both played hurt this year and Marcel is only a sophomore. We lost Javario Burkes before the season even started. We also have the following offensive lineman redshirting this year: Nick Ash (6-5, 270), Jesse Coffey (6-7, 300), Brent Qvale (6-7, 330), and Jeremiah Sirles (6-6, 310). The offensive line played a great game last night! I was proud of our big boys and I look forward to next season.
  21. Fantastic freaking post! A very fair assessment and the kind of perspective anti-Cotton people need.
