  1. Brandon Spikes got suspended for a half for trying to gouge an eye.
  2. http://espn.go.com/blog/big12 Most interesting fact is that us and Oklahoma have identical records in the Big XII. Who could've seen that with the Callahan years and the fact that Oklahoma's been practically in the NC conversation throughout this decade?
  3. Robinson's just been put in a bad position all year. He's not a RB that runs well from the Zone Read. Need to get the guy going north and south to get all his speed and power behind him. I would've liked to see Robinson during the South Dakota State, Texas, A&M, and Kansas games. Games where we might've been better served just lining up under center and pounding the ball straight ahead.
  4. The Holiday Bowl gets to pick 5th this year, they lost places in the picking order. Bowl's picking order this year is: Fiesta, Cotton, Alamo, Insight, Holiday and so on. Insight might not be a bad bowl, but I want to get to the Fiesta.
  5. His only miss this year was blocked. I can't remember correctly but wasn't it because of a great personal play in combination of Henry striking it too low that got it blocked. If it wasn't blocked it was going in. Whoever votes on these things really dropped the ball on the Groza award. Heck maybe they'll come up with a new award based on Henery for the best two way kicker in the future (yeah right ).
  6. Is it just me or was I the only one who saw Green throwing some really good balls when he took over for Martinez on Saturday. In fact the only really bad throw that he had was his pick. If we didn't have him trying to run the Zone Read when he was in (think he'd be better just handing off or the option out of shotgun or I Set). In fact I'd just give Green run pass options. Roll him out and if he saw someone open, throw it, if not just take off running into the open field. I was impressed with him because he did look like he took a step forward on Saturday (even with the int. Martinez's Int wasn't any better). We'll see if he can keep that momentum into the next time he plays.
  7. I don't think I see any difference in what Osborne and Cassidy are doing now than Thenarse and Smith were doing early in the year. Seems like both Thenarse and Smith hit a wall during the Texas game and started to become chronic with their missed tackles.
  8. I yelled a lot, cussed like a sailor, and kicked the chest that we use as a coffee table real hard because I was so pissed off at the refs (feel no reason to be mad at A&M, they didn't do anything but play their own game). But I couldn't do anything too crazy because I was watching it with some older people. About the only other time I was more pissed off at a game was the NFC championship last season. Huge Vikings fan and to see the calls that went against Minnesota in overtime just sent me over the edge, especially since it was obvious at just how much Minnesota was outplaying the Saints. It felt like once the game went to OT the refs just up and decided they were going to send New Orleans to the Super Bowl because the city needed it.
  9. Taking out his frustrations on the guys camera was bad, but this has got to be the absolute most frustrating game for Carl. What can he do to tell Osbourne that he did absolutely nothing wrong. What can he do when the defense played it's heart out and to lose because of a call from the refs. You don't want to see him lose his cool like that, but I can understand it. Wouldn't be surprised if he got fined for it.

  11. How did we get 30 yards of penalties on that one play? Shouldn't both the penalties have happened post play? Meaning that A&M could only accept one of the penalties. Can someone explain that?
  12. Do you have anything on either of Martin's personal foul penalties?
  13. Ok a lot of the penalties called on us were us playing undisciplined (though I do want to see what Martin did to earn his couple of personal fouls on the kickoffs), but that roughing the passer penalty was the most complete POS call that I have ever seen. Especially since it was called on a third down pass that fell incomplete. I don't know how you can call that when it wasn't an obvious roughing the passer (you know like what the Auburn DT did against Georgia, or a blow to the head). I know that you have to protect players, but that was the most complete BS roughing the passer I've ever seen. A&M had this game handed to them.
  14. Alright it's probably already been discussed but can someone tell me why the refs moved the ball back 30 yards on that double personal foul penalty by Cotton? Since it looked like both of them were post play shouldn't A&M only been able to accept one penalty? And jeez everyone is looking towards the bad on Green immediately and the second he does anything bad jump all over his back. Outside of his last throw (the int) I couldn't see any difference between him playing and Martinez this game. He had two huge throws to get us out of the hole we put ourselves into on 3rd and 15 (or more) and 2nd and 20. If there should be any blame this game, it should be all on the O-Line. They haven't been playing well at all. Also what's up with the HUGE difference in penalties and penalty yards between the two teams? At half Nebraska has 8 penalties for 88 yards while A&M only has 1 for 5 yards. I know we've been undisciplined tonight, but they've seriously only penalized them 1 time?
  15. Dennard had problems last year with catching. Seemed like every time he touched a ball last year like he was going to pick it, it either was dropped or popped up and caught by the offense (happened in the Kansas game). Now this year Prince can't catch an int but is also not getting too many looks a game. That dropped pick in the Missouri game would've been electric (def. pick 6).
  16. I think Dennard is more athletically gifted, but it's a difference of choosing between two different qualities of high end diamonds. Both of them are very good CBs and I seriously don't think you'd find any other CB tandem that is better (does Peterson have someone on the other side?). Also find me another defensive backfield that has 4 potentially high draft picks? The point being is that outside of the Safeties (who could still develop into something special) we have a group of dbs that are as good or better than any in the nation. I don't think aTm has anyone capable of doing the things that Blackmon did (and I think Blackmon's performance was an aberration than rule). Okie State really does have a special offense this year and outside of the 2nd quarter, we held them pretty much in check. I just have a feeling that the Kansas game was leaping stone that brings the defense to it's full potential. Sort of like how the Oklahoma game set things up for the rest of the year. My prediction to the Comic Book Store owner that I go to was 41-27 Nebraska. But I could see us both not scoring as much, but Nebraska still winning by 14.
  17. The defining moment of Zac Taylor's career at Nebraska. Drive was amazing.
  18. Ok I get the whole thing about playing the game in Wrigley (1st time in a while if I remember correctly), but you also have Notre Dame and Army playing the 1st ever football game in the New Yankee Stadium. I think that would be a better game to have Gameday at. Unless the reason why they aren't going to that game is because NBC holds the rights. But NU and A&M is the premier matchup in college football this week. Add to that the chance that Nebraska can clinch the Big XII North and A&M still having a shot at the South title (though it's still a very outside shot). If it was anyone else but Northwestern and Illinois I'd understand, but they are 2 mid to lower tier Big 10 teams.
  19. Yeah Gomes doesn't come out this year, and he only came out last year because Asante and O'Hanlan were absolute studs playing Safety last year.
  20. On the pick play that lead to ISU's tying touchdown David made a mistake by trying to go around the receiver, should've just ran straight through him. Though with the luck we've been having with the refs this year it wouldn't have surprised me if we got called for Pass Interference or something like that.
  21. Nebraska has a chance to clinch the Big XII North against an A&M team that has been on fire and finally living up to the preseason expectations they had. I wouldn't mind them going to the Notre Dame/Army game because it is a historically significant game (first game played in the new Yankee stadium). It's also surprising that ESPN hasn't jumped on a Nebraska conference game this year (blame Texas so far). You automatically have a number of storylines already written.
  22. They take your highest score, at least I'm pretty sure that's what they do.
  23. So why should we even be talking about Gameday not being the NU/A&M game? From what we know there are probably going to be no other games next week that involve two teams in the top 25. Then there's also the point that they just did an OSU game.
  24. I don't think that part of his post in any way mentioned that Green was a better QB than Martinez and would be better than Martinez. He was just pointing out that people should keep quiet about Green's fumbling problems when Martinez is doing the same exact thing. And I totally believe that Green had a concussion and while he could play and pass the tests during the game because of adrenaline and such. He could be suffering from post concussion symptoms, was the reason Dennard was withheld from the ISU game.
  25. Coached not to lose, could see it on the first offensive drive, 4th and 1 around the 40 (can't remember which 40) and they send out Henery. Huge disappointment for me, sure we had just got stuffed on the 3rd and 1, but you're saying that you don't trust the offense to pick up that yard on a second chance? That decision set the mood for the game, we were looking to win and it's a good thing the defense showed up tonight.
