  1. The Heisman trophy is a beauty contest joke and has been for many years. It's awarded to the player who's knob get the most ESPN polish. Suh is far and away the best player in CFB this year. He won't win the Heisman though and that's a shame.
  2. It's not a fumble if you never had possession.
  3. Here's another bottom line for you. Texas was 2-3 dropped Kirkendoll passes from covering the spread. That's football.
  4. I wonder, would all the Texas fans be posting here had that punt been blocked? No disrespect of course. I can't speak for others, but I would have stopped by to congratulate you all. It's only polite after having a few discussions with some of you in the week leading up to the game.
  5. If your head coach was named Stoops, you'd just need him to beat someone senseless with a baseball bat in a drunken rage.
  6. The Huskers brought their A game and played their hearts out. It was a close game and that is naturally going to lead to extreme disappointment and bitterness. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be butt hurt had the end result been different. That said, Texas was 2-3 James Kirkendoll dropped passes from nearly covering the spread. The refs also goofed big time when they blew the kickoff dead at the 1 when Goodwin slipped to the ground. He didn't have possession of the ball at the time. There were flubs and missed opportunities on both sides of the ball. That's the nature of football.
  7. Did he do a better job than Greg Davis did for the Horns? There is a large contingent of texas fans that want to roast Davis' nuts over an open fire. Been that way for many years (going back to his fetal position play calling against OU early in Mack's tenure at UT). I just find it interesting to see the parallels between Nebraska and Texas from last night. Texas D is legit folks (just like Nebraska's). Our run D stuffed your O's strength. Zach Lee had difficulty executing on pass plays because of pressure. Texas may not have ended up with gaudy #s for sacks, but the D line was harassing Zach all the same. JMO, but you guys are getting very close to turning the corner.
  8. '01/02 Tressel ball says hi. I don't know what the future has in store for the Horns, but based upon what I've been reading about reactions to the B12 CCG, there are a lot of folks (in the media) who aren't giving Nebraska as much respect as they deserved for their performance last night.
  9. Oh man - that game was a heart attack. Props to the Huskers. The game went about how I expected it to go except the D for both teams played even better than I was expecting. Your guy Paul on special teams nearly gave me a heart attack (figuratively).
  10. Yeppers, that sounds about right. The formula has changed over the years: luck -> moxy -> talent, but the results have been pretty consistent.
  11. These teams match up with second tier teams from the big conferences IMO.
  12. If Suh did strike a Heisman pose after a sack, he would look quite ridiculous. $.02
  13. I goofed. I was thinking of the 2001 game against Colorado. Not sure what happened to cause the rancor in '96. That was the Jeckle and Hyde James Brown team. Fans (at least the young ones) weren't used to a culture of winning at that time.
  14. Where is the smilie/emoticon with someone's head exploding? HuskerMoon did it to me again.
  15. That's a heck of a game to get your introduction. Texas fans were fighting with themselves at that game as the Applewhite-Simms QB controversy was practically creating a civil war within the Longhorn family. It was truly a low point in many respects for Longhorn fandom.
  16. Snowing in Houston <> Hell freezing over
  17. Musberger is the best in the business of mangling player names. I just hope the crew doesn't decide to conduct a 10 minute interview with Bob Stoops during the game.
  18. Looks like a full moon tonight.
  19. UT center Chris Hall also made the AFCA Coaches’ All-America Team. I'm not quite sure what to make of that.
  20. It was written by Dennis Franchione. He is the master of counter subconscious espionage.
  21. Chris Petersen made Boise State what it is today. I think Dan's performance in Colorado has proven that point.
  22. The conference image will be shaped by the overall performance in the bowl season. One reason the SEC gets it's rep (aside from media fellatio due to contractual issues) is that they perform well in bowls. If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best...
  23. Bwahaha. That article sounds like a Mangino press conference. Tin foil hats for everyone! BTW, the Big 12 was actually a little better about calling holding early in this year than they were in 2008. Tech got away with murder (or at least maiming Brian Orakpo) in Texas' only loss last year. If they had called holding consistently, OU and Tech might have had to learn to play O honestly and wouldn't have been so embarrased in their bowl games where holding was called on them and their O's failed spectacularly.
