  1. Again, this is just my opinion, and based off what we've heard 2nd hand, but we've got the ability to compete in the upper tier of NIL, so why not do it? Adrian was the #139th ranked player in his class; Burrow was 280. Dylan is #1, and for all intents and purposes, we were leading with him as close as a month ago. And I would be on the same side of this argument if this was a far-and-away incredible DT, or OT, or WR. We've got to be competitive across the entire spectrum, and pinching pennies when it comes to NIL is fighting with one arm tied behind our backs.
  2. Do I think Dylan Raiola would improve the team? Absolutely. Do I think we can find 3-4 offensive linement that can match his potential output and impact on the program? Possibly. Look at it this way: Nebraska can attract 3 to 4 star linemen virtually every year; we've signed 10 in the last four years alone. Nebraska has not been this close to signing the #1 overall QB in 30 years; you have to shoot your shot and give everything you can when you have the opportunity to.
  3. How does the part in bold happen without good players, and the market value that they will demand?
  4. It's very similar to people reacting to mammoth NFL/NBA/MLB contracts.
  5. Schaef indicated that Tennessee's QB recruit this year (#2 in the class behind Arch Manning) was making in the neighborhood of $8 million, so I'm assuming that's the ballpark that we're playing in.
  6. We aren't that far apart in our thinking, but here's the question, then: at what point do you spend money? If not for the #1 overall QB in the class, one with incredibly close familial ties to the program, then for who?
  7. I mean, it's the name of the game now. It's got very little difference to a salary cap in pro sports: you're going to overspend on players that don't match their contractual worth, and underspend on players that do. That's just how the market is going to work until NIL gets more clearly defined.
  8. Paraphrashing, but Schaef basically said that there was a point in February where Raiola to Nebraska was very much in the cards, but Georgia and USC came through with NIL deals that Nebraska couldn't match. Word is is that it's quite a bit higher of a number than that.
  9. Probably already been touched upon, but Schaefer on 1620 is indicating that Raiola to Georgia is predominently NIL related.
  10. It's not bad, it's just different. Not as much focus on Din and Grogu, but on Mandalorians as a whole. Overall, it's the worst season of the series, but it still has some great moments. I'd give it a 7/10, overall.
  11. We gave it our best shot, it was fun while it lasted and it was a yeoman's effort just to get back in the kid's top 3 after the debacle of the previous staff. Good luck to him; let's go find the next one that wants to be here.
  12. If he's taking officials in June, this could be the case.
  13. Not that I have a horse in this race, but Yant averaged 2.8 YPC last year.
  14. If Grant doesn't get his sh*t figured out, I'm fine moving on from him. Hill really hasn't fit in anywhere since he got here, but I was hoping that was a Frost thing and not a Hill thing. Not terribly surprised at Hickman; he was a tweener that really couldn't find a position (or keep weight on to help him find a position). Sort of surprised at Carnie; I thought he had a lot of potential, and was the next guy coming down the road in terms of home-grown TEs.
  15. Agreed, and as long as they aren't a direct rival to Nebraska.
  16. There's the Nebrasketball we all know and tolerate.

Crappy game vs Minn..  overall they did exceed my expectations.  Although it wasn't a high bar to reach.

  17. Schaefer is as likely to change his prediction to Georgia as he is to increase his confidence; just depends on which radio station he's on at the moment.
  18. From Bigger and Blacker in 1999 (NSFW - language):
  19. This. If Raiola comes here, he's taking the first snap.
  20. Is this your crystal ball prediction? What level of confidence?
