  1. I don't know if "buy-in" from the Pelini holdovers was necessarily a binary condition. I believe guys like Armstrong, Westerkamp and Rose-Ivey were on board with Riley and the coaching staff and what they are trying to do. Others? Not so much.
  2. Tell you what. You start a thread - not here, we've already cluttered this one enough - with a post where you were critical of one of our coaches. I'll respond with I post where I was positive. We'll see who runs out of material first. Well that touched a nerve. It was half in jest didn't you see my smirking smiley guy? You say the results are the same, yes they are I guess. But as a fan I feel a lot better about this team than I did last year. They just look better. They aren't getting blown out. They are playing together. Guys have improved from the start of the year to the end. Roby, Jordy, and the Aussie all look better than they did at the beginning of the year. It is partly the BIG being down some, but it also is the team. I don't go into a game and think they have no chance of winning the game this year like I have in the past. They could win all four of there final games this year, they probably won't but it would not be a huge surprise in my mind if they did. I still think they go 2-2 the rest of the way and win at least 1 in the tourney. Sorry, I didn't pay close enough attention. I thought it was still GBRFAN replying to me. You guys need to change your avatars. I'm not saying there aren't any signs of progress. I really like Watson and Morrow and Jacobson is more of a factor that I gave him credit for. And the Freshmen look to have promise though they've got a ways to go. We have pretty good talent 1-3 and potential at the 4-5 spots. But the talk of having the most talent we've ever had is laughable at this point. Best talent 1-3 that we've had in 20 years. But not overall. Not yet. I give Miles credit for putting together a pretty good defensive team considering that talent and personnel situation. And he did well to recruit two beasts on the boards in Morrow and Jacobson. But he doen't know how to put together an offense to save his life. That's why it always seems like Petteway/Shields/White/Webster are forcing things. His offense only works well for guys that can create their own shot. Those guys score well but also end up forcing a lot of things because the guys who can't create their own shot leave it up to the guys who can to bail them out at the end of the shot clock. Miles desperately needs an assistant who can bring some semblance of an offense. Because other than having top shelf individual offensive talent at every spot on the floor, his offenses are always going to struggle. Perhaps he can overcome that. But it's not looking promising as we near the end of year five. And we've come to the crux of the argument. Add to the fact that he can't coach end-of-game situations.
  3. White played like garbage tonight, too. I was hoping he would've been introduced to Grayson Allen's tripping foot.
  4. Well, at least Creighton lost.

  5. He can apply for his jail sentence to be served under house arrest.
  6. Jerry Palm has the ACC ahead of the Big XII, but the rest of the list is the same.
  7. Meh. Barfy's usual bluster. He's probably had that article in the pipeline for a couple years now.
  8. They lose their best player, who Miles single handledly made into their best player via development. Who says he can't do it with others?????? Uh....
  9. This is almost the most important aspect of his recruitment. Nebraska needs to be more active in Omaha.
  10. To cite just one counter example, my trans friends are extremely stressed out about their basic health and life options at this point. They are quite right to be, IMO. Life was hard enough to navigate to begin with, and their options are poised to recede. What's changed? My cousin who's gay and a drag queen still has the same rights now as he did a year ago. Is your cousin a Muslim? If not, they're only a few notches down on Trump's list.
  11. He will probably be a 3 at the next level. He's going to need at least a year in the weight room to be effective against Big Ten teams, though.
  12. Your first point contradicts your second point. No it doesn't. If you pre-emptively ban or punish someone before they actually do anything wrong, that is unacceptable. My point is based on the condition that someone has already done something "bad". If they're a danger to society, and have proven it, then their rights do need to be restricted.
  13. Husker baseball off to a blistering start.

  14. No, you can make that claim of literally every president. Certainly to varying degrees, but that same statement and sentiment can be painted onto any past/current politician. Obama would have us all believe that Obamacare is a good thing. Which is not true. Current dems (and maybe even a few Repubs) would want us all believe that an adjusted/improved/less-republican-tweeked version of Obamacare would be a good thing, which is not true. Obama & Bush would have us believe that the Auto and Bank bailouts were good things, not true imo. Obama said that the Russians were a non-issue, not a major concern, and that "the Cold War is over, Mr. Romney" - not true imo. Bush had us believe that there were WMDs. Bill Clinton didn't inhale or have sexual relations. If I was older, or if I cared to look it up, I'm sure I could remember more falsehoods from any and every former president. 20 million people who can go to the doctor instead of suffering along or dying might disagree with you. I'll never understand why people just point blank say "Obamacare is bad." As someone in healthcare, it just doesn't compute. Most folks in the field love it and want to keep it, although we admit it needs tweaked. All things equal, what do you believe would be a better option? And Moiriane is correct, IMO. Comparing the way Trump vomits on the truth every single day is a disservice to any of those other presidents, even if they did lie. I would say it's the wrong course for the government to take. I would call it an unfair tax and an unconstitutional tax in a lot of ways. I would say the intention behind Obamacare is nice and well intended, but that government insurance of any sort ignores the real issues. Yes everyone should have fair and equal access to health care, but the better option of addressing unfair costs (including unfair insurance costs, which will surely continue to rise until things addressed properly) would be to fix the value of the dollar. If a healthy currency doesn't fix the unfair costs on its own, then the government should work to make sure pharmaceutical prices are fair ($600 epi-pen comes to mind), not insure them. Although it's well intended, 50 years from now, people are going to look back and see that programs like Obamacare only helped to nosedive the economy even further, which drive costs and expenses up, which only continues to make health care unaffordable for everyone, not just the people on Obamacare, private health insurance prices will rise too. What I don't understand is why people think insurance is necessary at all. If the cost of health care is fair and true, and if the value of the dollar is fair and true, then what purpose does insurance serve?..... I can understand doctors like it because it probably saves them from being screwed over on payments.... I have several doctors & therapists in my family and extended family, and although I've never heard them speak against it, I have yet to hear them speak highly of it either, so I'm sure that's situational as well. All I know is that without insurance, my daughter's birth would have cost upwards of $100,000. So there's that, I guess.
  15. It'll be Tre, with Ozigbo backing him up. I think you're as likely to see Bradley get snaps as you are Wilbon at this point.
  16. Ed Cunningham just got a raging megahuge clue.
  17. And Wisconsin has been recruiting in the 30-50 range and that's where they're ranked on this list...but not where they are ranked period. Imagine that. In other words, take these 'rankings' with a grain of salt. How many playoff appearances or national championships do they have?i think at this point we just want to win our division. At some point a conference championship should happen but talking about playoffs- there is so much more that goes into it. And to actually come out of the playoff as champs? I think we need to just let that dream die and if it ever occurs it will be amazing but it's not something we should try to base our program around That is sad. If you aren't trying to win a NC, then you will have a hard time winning the conference. Methinks you have that backwards. Not really because Ohio State, Michigan, and PSU are gunning for a NC not just a Big10 east championship. I would say that anyone trying to compete with those teams are also trying to compete for a NC. 99.9% of the time, you have to win your conference (or should win your conference) to be in National Title contention. Focus on winning the consistently winning the division, then build up to winning the conference. If you win the Big Ten in a consistent manner, chances are better than most that you will find yourself in national title contention.
  18. Why not Both? He doesn't have to play TE every down but if we put him in for 10-15 snaps on offense I wouldn't complain. Maybe give him a few snaps of rest on defense and call it good. Kid is a great player and I hope he comes in ready to push for playing time right away with his skill. Welcome to the Nebraska form of the two way player. Going back and forth between the trenches playing physical football. This would be something pretty special It would be, but that would also be an IMMENSE grind. You could see a CB playing WR because there isn't a lot of contact, but going from LB to TE would double down on the wear and tear. I personally hope he ends up at TE, but I could see him being great at LB, too.

  20. Maybe the best coach on our staff came from Tulane. D will was at Zona for 1 year after holding a position at San Jose St. Should we have waited for KW to season his chops at a larger school. If we did that we would never have gotten KW. TT has the respect of the position group and did a great job recruiting the position this year. He is also an Offensive Line guy who could help us out in other areas. If they hire TT, which I think they will, it will be because he deserves the spot. The two bolded statements don't fit together. I think a question mark may be missing....
