  3. Rangers get Hamels. Dammit.
  4. Yesterday was the 25 year anniversary of Brent Mydland's passing. R.I.P.
  5. I'd be careful about calling it "lame". A key reason for hiring Riley is his alleged ability at player development.......yet you're agreeing another coach had a better season than Riley ever did "WITH Riley's players". And yes, Erickson showed it is very possible to win at Oregon State. Riley showed that is was possible to win there before Erickson did. Your argument is LAME and DORKY and really serves no purpose other then to stir sh#t up. We have been down this road with the Erickson B.S a couple of times. Riley did not have a winning season in his first stint at Oregon State. And there are many topics we go down the same road on.....it's an internet message board. He didn't have a winning season but the 5 wins he posted in 1998 were the most since 1971. 2 of the losses were by a point and another was on a last minute TD against UCLA. The next year when Erickson took over, they went 7-5 and I have no doubt that riley could have posted that mark also. He also has a losing record the past 5 years (29-33) and after 14 years at Oregon St was only 13 wins above .500. And he is still the winningest coach out of 28 in Oregon State history.
  6. Nice job Cole Hamels. First no hitter against the Cubs in 50 years. ( I hope the Cubs can sign him.)

  8. OSU currently has the number one ranked recruiting class in the country. Urban can straight recruit so they'll at least be in the running especially this season.
  9. Yea, NU wanted a guy like Mike Riley, there would have been plenty out there. But not a single one has the reputation that Riley does in the landscape of College Football. He's one of the brightest minds apparently. I get that's he's got the nice guy reputation and I'm sure he is a very nice guy. Almost anyone would have seemed a lot nicer and more personable than Dumbo however. He set the bar pretty low.
  10. All 30 Major League Baseball Stadiums, Ranked
  11. I don't feel like Mike Riley needed to be hired but Bo definitely had to go. It was long overdue at that.
  12. That is one selfless player. Watch out for the bounce rooski.
  13. Got lucky and scored a pair of tickets for the 4th of July Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well show at Soldier Field. Pretty amazing and special night and it was definitely a happy vibe among the 70,000 people that were there. Incredible light show, great music even without Jerry Garcia and fireworks to top it off at the end of the night. It was fun re-visiting the whole GD experience again if not for the last time...
  14. Gonna miss the Saadfather. Report: Brandon Saad 'crushed' by trade to Columbus
  15. Lebron has made it clear he isn't visiting any teams and will re sign with the Cavs. Just another click baiting headline that is making it's way around the web.
  16. John Facenda makes almost any old NFL film worth watching.

  17. If it wasn't for his broken leg Matt Herian deserves mentioning. One of the best TE's we've ever had.
  18. I just watched the game at home. I was supposed to go to a concert but I couldn't pass up the Hawks game. I'll see them (band) next time. So stoked for the Hawks. Thursday is going to be crazy. Pretty cool pic from last night. Lord Stanley The Champs
  19. First no-hitter of the season by Giants rookie Chris Heston. Nice work.
  20. Ugly details of Hope Solo's arrest come out in report before U.S. opener
  21. Norway looking dominant against Thailand. A couple of sportscenter top 10 plays. The goalie for Thailand has had a couple of amazing saves too.
  22. I remember that Baul played soccer at Papio. I am sure his speed and athleticism were a nightmare in the open field of soccer. He wasn't the most skilled on the pitch. In fact he was average at best with his skill sets, but we couldn't play an offsides trap on him because he was just so damn fast. Average skills be damned, 1-1 with a keeper he'll still win more times than not. And playing our D back against him just opened up the mid field for his more skilled teammates. His team throttled us every time. And yes, he was a nightmare for me. He actually went to Colorado St on a soccer scholarship before transferring back to UNL. Because I played against him a few times, I always rooted for him. Same with Strickland, different sport, but I played some pick up basketball games against him when we were both in HS. Felt like I had a personal connection to both of them so I rooted more for them to succeed. Even though neither would probably no me from Adam down the street. I have played in a pick up game with him also. I didn't guard him but to this day I still remember how quick he was. I love the guys from Nebraska who did the dirty work. Dean Steinkuher and Dave Rimington were my favorites back in the day. Chris Dishman and Eric Anderson were fun to watch too. I always liked sure handed receivers like Matt Herian, Nate Swift and Todd Peterson. Tom Rathman was a beast at fb and I can't forget Keith 'End Zone' Jones. He was a blast to watch. Just nit picking, but Swift was from Minnesota. Still a heck of a player though. You are right. Thanks for pointing that out! He was a steady receiver for us for sure..
