  2. I think Nathan Gerry is going to be a really good safety for us. Looking forward to watching him this year.

Will start out behind Alexander (probably) but I think he steals more and more snaps from Cooper as the year goes on.

Really? Didn't see that coming. I really thought Cooper would be in for a big time season, not losing snaps to a backup.

Cooper is the most experienced guy on D and one of the leaders. I doubt Gerry steals snaps. But, he could be in line to take over his spot in '15.

  3. Dean Ween aka Mickey Melchiondo is my favorite currently living guitarist. He looks like he is 12 in this video but he shreds like a grown ass man.
  4. I believe they do? I think you just have to sign up. I'm not sure if there is a cost involved either. http://ulive.cbssports.com/
  5. 3 triples in one game for Puig. That dude can ball.

Totally. I'd love him on my team that's for sure.

  6. I feel like there is some kind of alternate reality where some people who post here watch another team that is also called Nebraska, and they're completely a different team but with the same names and coaches with the same names, but for whatever reason when their "fans" visit huskerboard we're all together on the same site. Because what in the heck are you talking about? We had Ganz for a year, then Lee for a year. Who should have started over Lee that year? Cody Green? lol. Then we had Martinez. Are you one of those weird people who thought/thinks that Martinez sucks? No one in the last four years should have started over Martinez for any reason other than injury. Then when Martinez was injured we had Armstrong and Kellogg both starting. This is pretty much all the opposite of what you've just said. So we're talking about Zac Lee, Joe Ganz, Cody Green and Taylor Martinez now.... I'll let you run with it... Also no I wasn't on the Taylor Martinez should have started all four years train like yourself but regardless that train has departed. I also have no qualms in admitting that I'm weird sometimes!
  7. 100% agree. Yep. He nailed it. Don't care what Armstrong can do with his legs? How can you not care? We just finished watching Taylor Martinez run the zone read every other play for four years now. Beck has made it clear he wants to be able to throw the ball more, but at this point talk is cheap. We have seen wit our own two eyes that in this offense, our QB better be able to run. Now that's not saying he doesn't need to be a passer as well. If anything, Tommie is the first true dual threat we've had. The option could and maybe even should be a big part of his game next year. Why? Because he runs it well, and it works. That's the basics of it for me. 60% completion rate would be nice, but is that 15 for 25 attempts, or is it going to be more like 20 for 35 attempts? How much will we pass? More importantly, how much will we be forced to pass? I have no worries about our running game whatsoever. I like the offensive line this year. Tommie will run the ball and run it well, he's shown that. When we need him to make throws,mi think he will answer that challenge above and beyond most expectations. I just want him to play mistake free, no stupid mistakes or turnovers. Honest question, were you really blown away by his running ability and watching him run the option last year? I ask because I for one wasn't. Like at all. He didn't look very dual 'threat' to me and he averaged 3 yards a carry when it was all said and done last year. Like some others have said here if we don't see noticeable improvement this year then give someone else a shot just like Armstrong got his last year. This of course falls on good ol' Bo though. Frankly I'd be shocked of Stanton or Fyfe is our starter for any reason other than injury this year if history repeats itself like it generally does year after year under Bo.
  8. I hope a huge Big Red contingent shows up for the NW game and there are only certain sections of the city which most visitors don't even see that are anything to worry about.
  9. Just finished it. I was skeptical at first, but ended up enjoying it . . . quite a bit. Over Our Heads reminded me of their song on Grand Theft Auto V. Yeah I was skeptical at first too. I really dig their first two releases. (First Four EP's and Off!) Good stuff!
  10. You and I watched a different team last year. Ron Kellogg and Tommy Armstrong were alternated equally as Bo made up his mind, so I'm guessing your leap to "tunnel vision" is a leftover from a Taylor Martinez issue. It became apparent to Bo and Beck, as it was to the rest of us, that Freshman Tommy had a bigger upside than Senior Kellogg, so Tommy started getting a majority of the snaps. When Tommy was hurt, Kellogg was handed the final regular season game, Senior Day at Home against Iowa. At which point Ron Kellogg, a perfectly nice, hardworking young man, showed why he was better off as a back-up. I disagree with pretty much everything you said but respectfully so. I guess I didn't see Tommy's 'upside' as being so apparent that Kellogg a guy who completed nearly 60% of his passes his Senior year not to mention ending up with a QB rating of 127.6 should have come off the bench. Tommy's consistent interceptions were enough to seal the deal for me. Coming out and throwing a pick and nearly throwing a second one in the spring game against our own backups didn't do much for his apparent 'upside' that you apparently see either. We watched the same team... You expect statistics to seal your argument. It's not that simple. If stats tell all you'd have to find room for Armstrong having three more touchdowns in less attempts than Kellogg, and note Kellogg's less than inspiring minus 2.3 yards per carry, often going down meekly cause he simply wasn't mobile. You'd also want to explain Armstong's seven wins, including breaking Michigan's long win streak at The Big House and helping beat a decent SEC team in a bowl game. Then compare Armstrong's single loss - to MSU - with Kellogg's performance against a much lower ranked Iowa. I'm still stuck on the intangibles. By the time it came to the Georgia game, with a disenheartening season on the line, I can't imagine any coach going with Kellogg over Armstrong. Bo didn't. We won. Ending a chaotic, screwed up, injury-riddled 9 - 4 season. If Armstrong is any better, and has the respect of teammates and fans, it's hard not to see the upside for Nebraska this year. I respectfully disagree with your disagreeing with me. I can only take comfort that I got 4 plusses to your 1plus. Hey it's a good discussion and I appreciate the stats you listed. If Armstrong can somehow turn down the picks it's not like I won't be rooting for the kid. I still can't wait to see Stanton. Something tells me we're going to like what we see. I think it's fair to say we need to see an improved Armstrong. He threw the ball away far too much last year. He has to improve there. It's going to be an interesting season in so many ways.

  13. Looks good. I like it. This is the first time I've seen those laces. Very, very cool.
  14. I am not excited about Armstrong as our QB in any way shape or form. Bo has tunnel vision so we are more or less stuck with him unless he gets injured. Kellogg should have seen the field tons more than he ended up seeing last season. Nothing shocking there. I'm team Stanton and the guy hasn't even taken a snap yet. That's how unimpressed I am with Tommy Armstrong so far anyway.
