  1. Thought I'd go ahead and say I was one of the people to vote for the current BCS system. If memory serves, things were going along great until the 90 and 91 seasons when the AP and Coaches polls split the # 1 teams ( bowl tie-in problems ) and we got the Bowl Coalition and then the Bowl Alliance to finally fix the problems. Now everyone wants a playoff system and that will fix everything. Just not quite sure there will ever be a way to find out who is really "Number 1". But, I'll go along with a new system just like I adjusted to the old ones. So far, IMHO, the two best teams have played for the title under the BCS .
  2. Georgia needed a breather. 2007- opened with Oklahoma St., then South Carolina 2008- Arizona St. 2009- opened with Oklahoma St, then South Carolina 2011- opened with Boise St, then South Carolina Of course we always have the "Worlds Largest Cocktail Party" played at the 'neutral' site in Florida...
  3. All I know is that I personally dodged another bullet by NU NOT playing UGA in a bowl game ! My family ( of native Nebraskans ) told me if that game happened, I'd be watching it from the garage with no BEER, no heat and only the dog for company... Now, I get to go to the local Nebraska watch site, drink beer, and cheer on my 2nd favorite team as it destroys USC ! ( taking my Tablet to keep an eye on UGA ) Red=UGA n Scarlet=NU
  4. Will be heading out soon to the local watch site here in NashVegas. Wearing the RED as usual. Nice to kick back with friends and cheer Big Red!
  5. Down here in SEC country, things I hear are A&M would be welcomed, as would be VT. No one has much good to say about Missouri. I think a 4 team deal in the works: A&M, FlaSt, VT, Missouri - with Clemsen out. We'll see I guess.
  6. My oldest son gave me this book saying that since the 'cold war' shaped so much of my life, that I would enjoy the 'behind the scenes' motives. He is right. This book will probably scare some people with the amount of chemical munitions still missing from the former Soviet Union. Where they are at and in whose hand, makes this book an interesting read.
  7. # 6 was my first exposure to Fussion, still in high school and was blown away. Didn't know this type of music was being played at the time. Michael Giles pretty much plays a solo the entire track. Headphone music for sure, to hear his tempo changes. The entire album, for me, is a classic.
  8. Nashville Huskers are the 67th chapter of the Alumni Association and the 1st in Tennessee.

  9. Seems they are making the trip out our way. Westboro Baptist Church To Target Marine's Funeral We will stand for our fallen brother. Patriot Guard Schedule for Sgt. Balduf Escort and Funeral I realize that this is one of the rights that I gave 22 years of my life defending...just never thought I'd live to see this in my country.
  10. Heading to the Vandy game tonight. Should be another beat down.

  11. Wouldn't be hard for me; might be for the wife. We spent 5 years in England with little TV contact. At the house, the 'TV Tax' was about $150 per color TV ( and you had to buy a British TV also ), so we did without most times. (you can only watch BBC so long...) Hardest part was no college football. My sister-in-law taped (VHS) a lot of the Husker games and mailed them to us. My teenage son took it the hardest. He actual had to talk to us sometimes! We became closer as a family, so that was the plus side.
  12. Watching " Woodstock: Three days of Peace" - Director's cut on PalladiaHD. Ah, 1969! Next up...David Gilmour: Live in Gdansk Then...Song Remains The Same
  13. Stationed at RAF Wethersfield and RAF Alconbury in the 80's. My hobby was searching out the old Air Fields and Towers in the area. Standing by an overgrown strip and trying to imagine what it was like for them to fly those missions. Sharing a Pint with some WWII British Vets at a local Pub and listening to their stories. I'll be hoisting a Pint to all who served and those now serving. "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." - Winston Churchill
  14. Nothing like a good ole mega concert. In my younger days I could handle the crowds; harder now. Should be a lot of energy with that lineup. Hope your "1st" is a great one!
  15. What are your plans for concerts this summer? My list so far, subject to work schedule: Steve Miller Band Alison Krauss and Union Station Steely Dan Return to Forever Zappa plays Zappa Larry Carlton As some of us married guys do, the wife wants to go to the Journey/Foreigner/Night Ranger show. Not really my cup of tea, but if she cuts me loose for the others, small price to pay...
