  1. Somebody get James Cameron and Robert Ballard on the phone!
  2. I don't know for sure but I would be pretty surprised if you can turn off all the communications by flipping the wrong switches on the dashboard. I would think those would be located elsewhere. And with that many people on board - even just the number of crew members - surely they all wouldn't have dropped exactly at once such that no one could have at least radioed that something weird was going on. I always thought it was kind of like being drunk, so you never really know what might happen. I agree. It's not impossible. But I just think that they'd have to be far enough out of their normal positions that it would be very unlikely. CNN showed in a simulator where the switch is at in the center console. It's not really out of the way but you have to turn it all the way for it to be off.

  4. I'll have you know they're as smooth as eggs.
  5. Better find a football team again before they do that...
  6. How the hell has this one not made it in here yet
  7. I could still see decompression as a possibility. If they were getting hypoxia they could been confused and started switching dials and such to turn the transponder off and change the heading without knowing exactly what they were doing. But like CNN it's just speculation. I'm curious about GPS. Don't these planes use it as a navigation option? And if so is there no way to check communication with the satellites and triangulate another last known contact area?
  8. Montana? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuDvxfqgxXA
  9. 5 would be the unluckiest thing in the history of the human species. Think about the odds of two objects that small moving at high velocity and meeting at that exact time and place in the solar system.
  10. Can't use for whom the bell tolls, the Stars have been coming out to a mix of that since day one. DMX, I mean I guess we could move out of the 80's and into the 90's...
  11. http://gawker.com/oi...ames-1542226293 OK....the guy sees a plane burst into flames and fall out of the sky Saturday morning and he waits till Wednesday to say anything? I call BS or the guy is an idiot. In the email it says he tried to contact Vietnamese and Malaysian officials several days before but he didn't know if they got his message. It's a pretty detailed email with the direction of his observation the currents and wind speeds at his location, and compass bearing to where he saw it. It's also interesting that he says the plane was still in one piece at high altitude when it was burning. I remember the night of a CNN analyst (who I believe was a former pilot) said he was using a flight tracking system and it's last data for the plane was it leveling off around a cruising altitude.
  12. Good gawd! How do these people honestly get elected?
  13. True Mav. I would have figured by now something more than a slick would have been found. Unless they really are looking in the wrong place.
  14. That's true. I think Taylor's fumble stats are slightly inflated for the simple reason that he ran the ball a lot. It's bound to happen that a running QB is gonna have more fumbles than a pocket QB. With that said, Taylor had horrible ball security and had a lot of head scratching fumbles in his career. I believe one year he was tied with Oregon's QB for fumbles lost...
  15. I need a pair of cheap earbuds that will last when I workout. All the one's I get last 2 months before one ear goes out. Suggestions?

Much obliged fellas. I used to just buy jbuds at 6 bucks a pop but it gets annoying replacing them every few months.

  16. Oh boo hoo! I've lost maybe 10lbs this year and I've still got a pouch. Btw, I'm at 225 right now. I'll race ya!
  17. It's actually not that crazy though. The French flight that went down in 09? took them 2 years to find it. Granted that was in much deeper water. But if there was no last contact and the transponder was turned off they have no real way of knowing where it is when it's out of radar contact. But I wonder if they couldn't do some kind of triangulation with satellites since the plane sends data about it's systems back to the airlines and Boeing.
  18. You and me both. I'm getting close to the highest I've ever been. I was at 235 the other day Godspeed to you, sir, in getting rid of your tire. My plan is to see how much weight I can drop in three months, starting from yesterday. I figure June 10 is about the beginning of swimming pool season. I'm going to post my progress in this thread. At the bottom of random posts like at the bottom of this one. (btw, I'm headed to work now, and I haven't been posting from work lately. So won't post again during work hours.) 220 Why don't you just post it in the fitness thread?
  19. Who is throwing the INT? TA, Stanton, or Turner? Sounds like TA had more than one... Staying consistent during spring ball, I like it!
  20. Sound system is pretty thumpin' in The Vault. I was impressed with it at the turdue game. And as a young whippersnapper I was surprised that many of the songs were from the past decade.
