  1. Just for reference, I know it's not the pistol or Diamond/full house but as has been mention these are basically hybrids of wing T formations like the Navy, Georgia Tech have ran. If I can find one out of the Diamond formation I'll put it up for you. *EDIT so there's no triple option in this video but with what Oklahoma has run you can see if you just change the path of one of the backs you now create a pitch man. The only handicap they really have with the Diamond is that Jones isn't much of a run threat. If you pause the first play at about 14 seconds you can see if you take the deep back and have him move to his left instead of blocking right that's your pitch man. Obviously you have to change the blocking up front but that shouldn't be a huge issue.
  2. This is the play i was referring to above. Thanks for posting this image definitely makes it easier to understand for me. Going back to the point Enhance brought up would there be enough time to run something like this? I think you're really too focused on the time aspect. It's not like he's going to sit there for a couple seconds to make a decision on the hand off, It's read the key and make a decision. We ran a zone read triple option out of the shotgun last year and it's a pretty quick play. So yes there should be plenty of time. Just like any play the line has to get their blocks for the play to develop but it should be a pretty bang bang quick hitting play.
  3. In theory that's a cool idea, but in reality I don't know if the time to do this would be available against better defenses. The fake to one of the running backs would have to be as quick as a triple option fake to the full back, and then you'd immediately have to run the option with Burkhead otherwise you'd risk being blown up in the back field. Taking the time to do a full zone read and then go with the option would be a long time. I think we will probably see this wrinkle. The first option in the triple option is a read similar to the zone read if I'm not mistaken, but as you said you don't have as much time to sit on the ball and make the defender commit. It'd be similar to what is run out of the gun or pistol having the wideout come in motion for the sprint out option with the RB being your first option.
  4. As soon as he saw the ball going to Enunwa, he was visibly upset (rightfully so). When Enunwa caught it, he jumped and fist pumped in celebration. Green's a good kid. I don't expect any character issues with him at all. Green was basically waving at Taylor from the time he left the LOS, and I was screaming you've got Green! But he was pretty selfless when he saw the TD. And to Taylors credit he anticipated that Enunwa was getting open and let it go at the perfect time. it sounds like green is demonstrating a competitive attitude rather than a selfish one. We are in agreement. I like his attitude a lot!
  5. I went with to close too call because even though Miller's performance seemed to be petering out he still could have extended a few drives with his legs. But at the same time I think we would have got a pick had either QB been in, it felt like it was only a matter of time with some of his Miller's throws.

  7. It really could have gone either way had he stayed in. Before the injury he seemed to be slipping anyway and I felt like it was only a matter of time till we got and INT out of him. They probably would have scored if he stayed healthy and it would have been down to the wire.
  8. I was more surprised David wasn't on the list. David was the one who really got the momentum going for the Huskers. Very true. He and Rex have that quality of never giving up when things are down, and if they can't win then your at least going to have to feel them till the final second ticks off. But in these polls they usually stick with offensive guys, I think Suh and maybe Fairley are the only defensive guys I can recall seeing in awhile.
  9. Done and done! I almost feel like Rex and Taylor should be together for the nomination, they basically took the team on their shoulders and were an amazing duo to watch.
  10. It should be pretty life changing for you skers. My dad is about your age and just had his knee replace a few months back and he already walks better than he did before surgery. Good luck with it and I hope it all turns out good for you.
  11. Here's some songs for you distinguished gentlemen. Cheers!
  12. I don't know if that was an adjustment or if Taylor was talked to and finally started seeing it and learning that 2-3 yards is better than a sack, fumble, or pick. Those dump-offs/check downs were there last week but I think he was just focusing on the big play everytime.
  13. Sitting in the east student section the boos were pretty audible, and I would think that's where most of it was coming from. I was getting annoyed with the guy in front of me before that for constantly being cynical and sarcastic, it just so dumb and way too many people do it at the first inkling of trouble i.e. an incompletion/lost yardage. And like the OP said nobody playing should be booed unless they flat out give up and stop playing. As for me I will probably never boo, espcially this teams since I went to school and played with guys on that team.
  14. I sure don't remember seeing it before. It's a "very" good question about why it surfaces now. I'm in the "reps required" camp so I think it's silly to hide it almost to halfway into the season. Heh....otoh, there's no arguing the great results. So what do I know? Maybe da skers will swing by and give us the scoop. GBR!! It's been used a few times during the first hand full of games this season, but I don't think it surfaced more than once or twice in a game. And I think I recall Rex being in at fullback in the I against Washington or Wyoming for a few plays.
  15. Yes he does. His play has mostly been pretty good this season for what he is asked to do. But at times last night he was literally taking on triple teams without giving ground, I think he's fine.
  16. I think they said something like 1929 or around there on the broadcast.
  17. One of my favorite quotes of all time, and very fitting.
  18. I agree with just about everything you said but I think Kinnie is becoming more of a go to possession receiver. He looks to be over his injury (thumb iir) and seems to be finding his groove. He looks really good catching now and he usually fights for yardage when he gets the chance. But like the other guys I think his biggest limitation is the quality of passes.
  19. Couldn't read the first article on my phone but I'll check it out tomorrow, love the other human side of sports stories. The second article is just rediculous wish I was in that class so I could tell the dumb b*tch to shut the f up, because he skinny jean wearing pansy of a boyfriend would curl up in the fetal position and cry if he had 300lb men charging at him, much less play a full game and have the guts to continue after he knew he screwed up. I get the feeling this is a major crossroads for Taylor. Situations like this can end up defining who you are. Do you come out a shadow of yourself and limp through the season, or do you fuel yourself with the criticism and give it your all to be the best and improve. I get the feeling if he has his way some people here will be eating crow before it's all said and done. I just hope he can make steady improvememts and take this team to it's full potential.
  20. So... Anyone see Bo's presser? I thought he did pretty well. Wasn't short with the media and had a lot less coach speak. Actaully seem to be giving honest opinions of what he thought/knew going into the game and how they played.
  21. I don't think their size had anything to do with our problems. Rewatching the game on BTN we seem to hold the line well and rarely if ever got pushed back. The real problem seems to be the fill from the LBs or their over pursuit and a general lack of tackling by all. I think the front seven would have no problem playing a physical game with anyone, but they need to follow the plays properly keeping their eyes up and WRAP UP. I do think a switch to one gap would help us out, but I'm not sure it's a good idea 5 games in. I think the line can continue with the personel they have, but somethinh has to change with the LBs (obviously not David, Compton has been average). Give the others guys a shot. If I recall they didn't look like they would be a fish out of water if we plugged them in early on. If anything we would simply be back where we started if they don't pan out and atleast know our depth. As for the secondary that's just confusing to me. It's hard to judge from just tv views, but if we are going to play off coverage then we are going to give up the short routs, that's just a given against a good QB. And thats fine to an extent because we have mixed in some press, but if we're going with the bend don't break attitude the safties can not bite like they did and give up the big plays. They must keep everything infront of them. I think the CBs just need experience and the right combinations which is probably why we've seen so many different ones. But unfortunatly I think no matter what the co,bination is it's just going to tale time. As far as safties I think Stafford could be an option at LB and in that case PJ and Osborne would seem to be a good fit for the safties. They both have experience and from what little I've seen of them this year they are always flying to the ball. (and why isn't Osborne playing? I know people said he pissed Bo off but is there really any truth to it, and if so what did he do?)
  22. Sean Is pretty good, Millen is just annoying with his idiotic comments. They need to put him with Musbeger for the def fans and the game no one really wants to watch. Sean and Kirk could be a pretty good combo, they both have a clue and (during broadcast atleast) they don't really play favorites.
