The offense plays a big part in that. Getting the ball out quick and controlling numbers in the box are primary principles in that offense.

Maybe. The thing we're seeing in sports, particularly with players, but this can apply to coaches, too, is that the money is becoming so great it isn't as much an incentive. It's not a life changer anymore to go from x to y. When that happens, it becomes much harder to pull someone from a P5 Program. We're not talking Memphis or Houston or UCF that have artificial ceilings that they alone can't overcome. Iowa St is not a top tier program, but there is nothing stopping them from pursuing that goal.

You should be, he's doing it wrong. They're not predicting losses, they're estimating chances. I know of no major service predicting a 3 win season.

You dont "need" anything more in a 3-4 front than a 4-3 front as both can be played even or odd, 1 or 2 gap. The word "the" before 3-4 implies a singularity that doesn't actually exist. Both can be played with a huge assortment of techniques to fit the needs of the defense. Most defenses are moving to some form of hybrid anyhow, particularly because most offenses are 3 or 4 receiver sets now. That's why describing entire defenses by front is outdated.
